Stalking me hey????

We are back home now and catching up with our life in Adelaide.

Hmmm, the cruise.................

Some good bits but certainly not as good as we'd expected.

The weather both ways was pretty rough.
This meant we missed the two stops in New Caledonia - one on the way out and one on the way in.
The rough seas were not a prob for us but I reckon nearly half of the 2000 on board were queasy.

The ship itself was good as was the food and service mainly.
Had a little problem with our ship board account and it took ages to rectify the missing monies

Fiji - Suva ( the capital) .Busy and manic, some very run down areas.
Pt Denaru - New and shiny, lovely hol destination. Sat in the Hard Rock Cafe drinking cheap but good Fijian beer

Drafuni Island - a small island with little in the way of "civilisation" ,only 200 inhabitants.Lovely beaches ,lovely people.

Port Vila, supposed to be great for shopping.............hmmm?? Lots of cheap copies but blooming awful.Booze cheap - 1.125 Bundaberg Rum = $12 Aud.
A very scenic place indeed and some wealthy /famous visitors.

Quality furnished ,short term rentals.2 beautiful houses,in Woodcroft and Seaford. "Home from Home"

Got any pics to post up?

I went on a "cruise" once. A last minute cancellation meant me and the missus got a call (invite, if you like, so long as we paid...) to fill the void of a couple who'd decided they no longer wanted to visit Norway in the winter.

We actually spent more time on (in) the boat that we did in Norway. The sea air was more than chilly, the sea rough at times - I was sea sick - and the company was mostly old folks just doing what old folks do on boats going to Norway. Bingo!

We met up with a friend of a friend and ate out on arrival. Norway is soooooooo expensive! We'd arrived at night so only go to see the town of Bergen for a few hours before departing in the afternoon, back home. This was a "cruise" (and I use the term in its sloppiest sense) from Newcastle. That in itself was a long drive just to make the ship. God knows what I was thinking when I said yes, but when a friend invites... Anyway, it sticks in the memory...

I'll have to sort out some piccies - not hat many though.
I treated myself to a video cam so I spent a lot of time playing with that.

2 Surreal moments-

1) Sitting the Hard Rock Cafe drinking the local and very nice and very cheap Fijian beer ( I thought that place would be top price!)

2)Talking to a bit of a dizzy blonde woman who had been on a cruise before. We were discussing how big the ship was (77,000 tonnes) and how easy it was to get lost. She declared " It takes a few days but then when the ship turns around for home you get lost again" ... surreal ,head scratching comment that was said in all seriousness :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2:
