Anyone for tennis? Posts: 647 Group: Admin Member #1 Joined: March 23, 2006	Russ, you mentioned the lack of feedback you get with this Zetaboard forum. I agree, it's rubbish. For all the effort I've put in to understand how to write code to change the colours, add graphics and links etc. I feel I've let everyone down. Zetaboards have let us all down. They simply do not send on emails to let others know they've had a reply to a post. I'd like to make amends by trying a new style of forum. Since you and others are involved in a variety of forums (I no longer have the time right now) can you point me in the right direction of companies like Zetaboards that really work to build a community. I've heaps on my plate right now, so action wont be quick on this, but it'll be a start to improving matters. Everyone's input most welcome. Free board offerings preferably, but paid ones worth a shout. Thanks, Paul.

OMG Looking forward to the Taz trip to stretch the legs. Been desk bound these last couple of months working all hours. I need the break to re-energize. RADICAL face-lift for Koala Konnection is on the cards and then ANLDU, I think. In between, the strands of another car site will slowly be pulled together.

But, it's proven fruitless in persuading people to 'give us a go'. Oh, we've tried.... So it looks like a change will have to be on the cards. The day jobs will make this rather difficult. Hey, something's got to pay the bills. So, don't expect a new look by the end of the week/month/next month - it ain't going to happen. I'll run a new site in parallel to this one. Poms in Paradise dot com. That way we can compare the two and make the changes / additions to the new site as we go and, if it proves more successfull, gradually phase out ANLDU. "No, no! Don't do it!" What's the alternative if we wanna make a few friends? In the meantime, let's just scribble away and see if we can turn things around here.

I've just discovered that if I pay the hosters of this 'ere board a monthly fee (about $11.50/month) I can get the email subscription thingy turned on i.e. when someone scribbles something on a forum thread anyone else on that forum thread gets an email... I'm going to give it a go. As for Poms in Paradise - do you like the name? - maybe anldu will magically transform into PiP one day. I can't handle all the work. Let's see what my $11.50 gets me. Don't know how long it'll take to kick in. You'll probably have to make adjustments to your Preferences above for the email reply to work, but I'm not sure. Let me know if/when you notice any changes. P.

I guess they're busy, like everyone else in the world. Good things come to those that wait. Bet they got my $11 and a bit quick enough... I have no idea of the stunning changes that are about to happen. From a dumb message board operator like me all the gobble-de-gook geek speak meant bugger all other than the email subscription bit. All together now... 99, 98, 97...

My ticket name has changed (there's a "Brian" been added to it) but I have had no reply to my question. Nor is my board less free than it was before I paid you guys some money. Here's my original email: ID: 58U36948SJ227545W Just purchased through PayPal. Haven't noticed any difference. Still describes it as 'hosted for free'. Transaction date: 21st April 2009 Regards Paul And here's the reply, from Nicola. Please don't say anything awful about it - we may be switched off completely... I can understand your annoyance, but it's a bit unfair to send us multiple tickets and expect a reply when people are in bed asleep (or even doing something that has nothing to do with the internet) when you're sending them. Only one person can help you and others who are having issues with purchasing premium, and he wasn't available when you sent the first ticket, nor is he available right now. But he will be later on. Because by then he will have woken up. So, as you can see, if the one man that can turn on the switch was away on vacation we'd all be in a spot of bother. To say I'm less than happy would be an understatement. It's like paying money to drive across Brisbane's Gateway Bridge and then the automatic barrier refuses to open - for 24 hours, for 48 hours, for... heaven's sake. But worse still, no one tells you when it might lift and unfortunately I can't move the "car", can I Zetaboards Premium? So I sent off a third mail. Yes, they will be asleep. I know, I know Perhaps I'll get another telling off / whole bunch of sarcasm. Until then we'll just have to wait. It'd better be worth it!
