Wahaaayyy!!!! After an intensive but brilliantly informative 8 week course I've passed my Seamanship Course!!! Phew!!! I can get my boat license now. I could have gotten it by taking the test at Rego but I wanted to do it this way as I've never had a boat and wanted to learn as much as I can. So next week I can be out there in Jean Genie ![]() Anyone who is interested in the Sea Rescue Squadron for courses ( cheaper if a member) or for volunteering - have a look at their site or ask me more. http://www.sasearescue.org.au/

Bloody marvellous! Did you ever think about 'boaty stuff' when you were in the UK and looking forward to moving out to Australia? I often wonder how opportunities just seem to make themselves happen when you arrive in a foreign country; stuff you never dreamed of doing before become a reality. Must be the 'great outdoors' lifestyle we have here, or the ability to suddenly think outside the square. Now, let me tell you about Great Whites and chilly waters... Russ, didn't they teach you about being in charge of a vessel (boating, not drinking) and blood alcohol levels... I think you may have overdone it this time...

We'd never have considered having a boat in the UK - or thought we'd ever have one here.Amazing what can happen here - especially after a few years when you have settled. I've been getting all the tales of Great Whites here from my "friends' Below 0.05!!! I might slip the odd beer if on the water for a while but I'm not one to risk it. |
