Hey up,

Saw this on the Channel 4 website and thought it might be useful to someone.

Channel 4 (along with presenter Phil Spencer from Location, Location, Location) are looking for couples who are moving to Australia and who will be looking to buy a home in Jan/Feb 2009.

You have to be in a position to buy and you will have the backing and help of professionals whilst you're there.

If any of you are interested go to the web page noted below and fill in the application form.

I think it does look like fun, but I wouldn't want to be part of it. I did a live radio broadcast once having never done one in my life. I was at Santa Pod raceway with noisy race cars all around and it wasn't the ideal place for it but the theme was the cars. Somehow I managed to find myself as "the expert" and was promptly set upon by the the roving live broadcasters. I had 20 minutes to prepare and apparently it went really well. Personally, I thought there were too many long pauses but you have to think quick on radio and I'm not very good at that. Friends managed to settle around a radio about 100 yards away and listen to me live!

Also at Santa Pod I got conned into giving a media interview. It sounded fair enough, given the briefing. As soon as the video camera and sound recordist and whoever else was there lifting cables, pointing lights and clasping clipboards got into position the interview began. First two questions were a breeze and then: "So, Paul, sex sells, yes?"

Now at this point in time you might be forgiven for thinking that I ran a brothel, but I didn't. Nor did I have anything whatsoever to do with any sex trade, however, the magazine I was working for at the time had included a scantily clad young lady smothering a car for a photo-shoot and I was the editor of said magazine. At the time I was against it but the publishers (well one of them) was quite keen - he even made the effort to get to the photo-shoot... All this tv crew wanted to do was concentrate on that, having seduced me with a couple of easy intro type questions before viciously changing track at the last minute to get a reaction. Obviously they were interviewing the wrong bloke.

How did I answer? Didn't you see the video on tv?

Nor did I. I don't think a simple "yes" went down very well. That was the end of the interview. Who wants a bloody fight on tv? Obviously they did...

So no, I wouldn't want to participate in such a program, although I really did like the way Phil and Kirsty (it was Kirsty, wasn't it?) presented LLL. I thought they were a fine balancing act and the program a great success. Gizzajob... :happynod:
