Moving from WA to Queensland

Hello!

We are a family of 4 that are hoping to move to Queensland next year. Specifically the hinterland area - Maleny, Montville & Mapleton. We have visited on a couple of occasions and love it - must be the rolling green hills remind me of Scotland!

Does any one live in these areas and have children that attend any of the local schools? I'm keen to get opinions specifically on Montville and Mapleton school as I have visited both on one of our last trips over.

PS - To Admin - hope this meets the terms of having to introduce yourself!! :)

Welcome to the site - I see you've already read Duffer's post, again I'm no help but just wanted to welcome you.

All the best with the move.

Thanks Tallyho!

This doesn't seem like a very busy site. I read a blog about Montville so was hopeful there were members around the area.

Hi Dilly. We've had friends over for a long weekend and I'm only just getting back to normal - well, as normal as I ever get.

We don't have any kids. All together now, ahhhh, but just to fill you in on the details - Montville and Mapleton have a primary school each and Maleny has both. I dare say you've seen the Sunshine Coast schools download Mrs Admin prepared that's free to download. It's for secondary schools and gives an idea of which ones are the good uns.

As regards actually living here, you'd have to be mad not too. We came here from north Wales and it was the hills and beautiful green hillsides and views that captured our hearts. Mind you, it's not cheap to buy here. It's always worth doing a search for realestate in the area. I know that rentals have gone silly recently.

Once again, gotta go. Foods on the table. I will get around to making a few more posts soon. Promise. Just keep the questions coming. More the merrier.

Speak to you later.

Paul
