Was looking for stuff on the web about it thought and wondered what you guys think of the system here. I'm shocked at how much it is to buy in the first place and only some of the costs are paid back if you use the "Extras" plus you have to wait so long before you can claim on it for many things. Generally we are both fit and healthy so maybe it's not worth considering at all, has anyone any opinions on health insurance and whether it is worth it?? I find it all very confusing being used to the good old NHS . Gill

Happy in Onkaparinga Hills Posts: 237 Group: Members Member #228 Joined: April 25, 2008	It does seem expensive does the private medical cover here. We have looked at it a few times but never committed . The choice is overwhelming with the menu of extras. So we are still on Medicare after 8 years and it's been great,a lot better than the UK. You can dip in and out of private if need be though to speed things up. Trouble is as we get older the premiums are getting more expensive!!
