Hi everyone,

I've lived here in Adelaide since April 07, so quite a newbie really. I've settled in well and so has my son who is 4 years old.
Since moving here I've started up my own company (see below) which is a pleasure to do, seeings as I've done the whole visa and emigration process myself, its nice to be able to pass on information.

I look forward to posting on here and getting to know the gang! You all look like a good bunch to me!!

Hi Judi

Welcome to the forum Judi (aka Roo1Adelaide). If you're a meet and greet service too you should really add those details to the Koala Konnection website - look under 'Removals' - Relocation agents. I note that your property details are already listed...

So tell us, what was the appeal of Adelaide?

Hmmm, Adelaide's appeal??? Lets see.......

Well, initially I had friends here and it was the first Aus city that I experienced 7 years ago.
I loved (and still do) the fact that SA has four seasons. The summer is hot and the winter is cold, I couldn't live in muggy heat like they have in other states.
Adelaide is like a big town too. You still have that laid back feel - Adelaide time - is what the locals call it. As I came to Aus from a stressful job, I'm now pretty chilled and I think that is down to my environment.
I've been able to afford a lovely house overlooking the ocean too!! Quite different from the 3 bed in Bolton I assure you. So, price wise for houses, its affordable here and fortunatly for us brits, many can become mortgage free.
I love my aussie friends here. Back in the UK the "keeping up eith the JOnes" attitude surrounded me. Here, no one gives 2 hoots about your latest car, house etc.....
I love the beaches, alfresco cafe's, McLaren Vale is on my doorstep (well 10 mins away) and its great for my 4 year old who has took to the Aussie way like a fish to water.

I could go on......and probably will with my postings on here!! lol But got to get up and dressed!!!

Cheers
