Hi all!Great to have found another excellent forum! Am married with 3 sprogs - daughters 16 & 9 and little monster - 4! I teach PE and English and OH is a copper (whispers!) We are the proud owners of a 137 STNI to Victoria. Whole process took 23 months from start to finish - stressful but worth it! I intend to teach in Melbourne suburbs and hubby has ajob with the Vic Government. We land in Oz on 2/08/07. Things are very hectic at the moment - very exciting! We live on the coast in Sometimes sunny West Sussex. Bex |

Bex, welcome to ANLDU. Did you know that you are the first person to use the forum that's intending to settle in VIC? I hope other's decide to follow you as this is such a new forum and I'm sure I'm not the only one to get the impression that most who view it think that it's a QLD only forum. Ordinarily I would do some geographical zoning, but I can't for at least some time yet, for obvious reasons  Anyway, thanks for joining up. I see you've already got in the spirit of things with a few other postings. Be chatting some more with you soon. DS |

Welcome aboard Bex. Read past postings, and you will find a gold mine of information. I have a feeling you will be speaking to me soon. What area are you thinking of? Frankston is a fantastic location, south of Melbourne. Close friends of mine and Kath live in South Frankston, she is PA to head of a school??????????? All the Best Aircon

If you mention the other forums in code, you will be fine - yes as we dont want to be advertising other forums really Bex when we are trying to build this one up. I worked in Victoria lecturing in 2003 for a time. |

Hi Bex, This is my first post on this forum as I've just joined and yours was the first post I read so I thought I'd say hi and good luck with the move. I'm also going out to Melbourne but not until 2008. All the visas are done so now we need to decide how and where we're going to go. I'm married with two insane kids, both under 4, so I'm hoping to go to a good spot like Brighton with leafy suberbs and near the beach. Only trouble is it's a bit pricey. I could really use a lowdown on the the best areas of Melbourne to live in. I lived there in 93 for a year but things change and I can't remember many of the places I went to. If you or anyone else reading this thread knows of a good honest online guide to the best spots for families to live in I'd love to hear from you. Cheers, Greg |

Hiya Bex and Greg Here's another 2 off to Melbourne. We were heading Brisbane way first - no real reason - but after being over on holidays have changed our minds to Melbourne. Not to sure where but not too far from the city. |
