Love him or loathe him, at least Blair had the good sense to know what's best for his party and step down. Unlike Major, Thatcher or Bob Hawke. No, not Bob, oooh, er, what's his name. The little guy... er... John Howard. ;) Ah yes, our current PM who doesn't think it's time to leave, ever...

So, Blair quitting.

Good or bad?

And if you're not one to get into hot political discussions, what's your favourite colour?

Paul.

was going to reply with my favourite colour then realised that you meant inline with a political party.haha.

I was brought up never to discuss politics/tell people who you are voting for. Its a habit that unfortunately will stay with me. Will be interested in others points of view though.

No matter what you vote/say/think, they do just what 'they' want. POLITICS does nothing for me in the least.......

You're not going to be shocked in any way or form then Dave. Politics over here is like a bull-dozer affair. What our premier says our premier gets. Science, reasoning and debate rarely get in the way... The hottest potato in this part of the world at present is the flooding of the beautiful Mary Valley around Gympie, just north of Nambour. Type it into a search engine for the full story. It's to do with water conservation, dam building, that sort of thing. The huge majority does not want it - us ordinary folks, the people who live there and the scientific community - but Beattie just says its going to happen. So there!

You know, I think it would be fair to say that if you took away the glorious weather and swapped it for the UK's and took away the excellent beaches and made them mostly stony with brown choppy water, Australia would be full of people trying to migrate to Britain.

Still, it's nothing like that and the extra tax we pay appears to be spent on cutting down the natural forest and developing airconditioned shopping centres, free bbqs, bikeways and walking paths, road widening or building and 'subsidised' fuel and VAT thats both about half of what it is in the UK.

I wouldn't say I'm happy with all of it, but I'd find it very difficult to return to old Blighty, even if GB was the new leader in charge of GB. That's a bit weird...
