To get thread back on topic (boys!!) surveyor came yesterday - was here 10mins and went, nice man.

He was paying attention to the porch (which we had an apex roof added to when we moved in rther than a slanted roof), but he was looking at the brick thickness - ie single brick i think, he kept patting the walls. Do you reckon that would show up on the report?? it didnt with us when we moved in, but his moisture meter was showing green. not sure what stood out. it will be about a fortnight before it comes back...crumbs!!

Or new buyer has been advised to get a surveyer in by their solisitor. Next Wednesday is the day, another delay in a completion date, by at LEAST another week. Getting pi**ed off with it all now................

This thread is so old now I could have built a house in that time. It's so old in fact that I can't be bother to go back and look to see if I've already told you this but we sold our house to an Indian doctor. Well, he made an offer and we accepted. The over-paid surveyor popped around and gave it the once over and seemed fairly satisfied, although you can never really tell. They have to earn their money...

In the meantime I turned down a matching offer and ignored the interests of others. The house was no longer on the market. Wahoo!

Then my Indian friend wanted to know if the footings of the house were deep. Deep enough to support an new floor extension, he asked. So I dug a hole. A big hole in fact. Ripped up the earth around the outside of the house. He volunteered to do it so i figured this was all part of the Indian buying process (I'm so naive). Between his asking, my digging and his builders suggestions on the phone, to him and myself, weeks went by. Then he pulled his offer. Charming.

The folks who had made the same offer were now involved in another property and the house had to be put on the market again. We were hoping one day we'd be getting on a plane...

The moral of the story?

Don't worry what the surveyor has to say. Just make sure the buyer isn't buying for extended family shortly arriving from overseas.

Blimin' migrants... ;)

TOMMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish...................................

Now looks like it is going to be Friday 8Th, we are leaving at 06:00 in the morning to get to the airport.

So we will have no funds to pay off our debts before we go, or to go to Oz with!!!!
Plus I wanted to get the funds over to HiFX to then send on to Oz. How can I do that at 35,000 feet in the air??????

It has all gone Pete Tong

Still, our chins are still in the air......

Paul.

At Changi Airport in Singapore as I write, and still do not know if completion went ahead on Friday. Write when we get to Brissie and get internet sorted.
