Hi!
 Can anyone recommend anywhere to stay either b&b, motel or apartments? We are visiting for 2 weeks end of Aug to have a good look around sunshine coast! Cheers! Jo x |

HI Jo, don't know what they're like yet but we're staying at http://www.casablanca.net.au/index.htm when we first arrive as they were recommended. Seem reasonably priced and close to most stuff!! Good luck, Mel

Hey, these look OK! King's is a good place to stay in Caloundra. When are you coming over Mel? Perhaps you could let us know what they're like and then if they're ok I could perhaps try and wangle a discount for KK peeps looking to come over for a rekkie or just for the first few weeks of the big trip? P. |

yah, will deffo let you all know what they're like, they've been really helpful through the booking process etc!
we start off on the Gold Coast (just to make sure we're not missing anything!?!) and get to Caloundra at the end of June 07, only booked a couple of weeks as hope to find a perm rental asap.......maybe wishful thinking.. :rolleyes: Mel |

Wow. Caloundra will seem like a small village compared to the Gold Coast. I can't believe you're all coming over so close to one another. I wonder how often people on forums fly to Australia or Singapore on the same plane as people they've spoken to, but without confirmation or a photo don't realise they're just a few feet apart? I'll add a small weather report to the site so you can all keep tabs on what's happen here. Paul |

Jo you will be on our doorstep in Caloundra!!! we are looking at Mountain Creek, so now you know you will have a coffee mate if you fancy a brew!!! You cant get away from us Smiths that easy. haha. We have our sons friend staying with us this august or you could have stayed with us for august. But if we are travelling in august which we are considering doing, you can have our appartment for part of the time to cut down on the costs if you want no problem. |

Lunch sounds good to me Jo!! If you can get my sister over it would be a dream come true for me. As you know we are incredibly close and she is my biggest biggest tug (other than my eldest son) and I love her and the gang to bits. |

Jo - can you not come out for longer than 2 weeks??? there is so much to see and do. As well as rekkieing the area there is tons for kids to do too. Have you booked the flights yet??? |

I know I'm gutted it's only 2 weeks! As you know I'm off for 6 weeks in the summer so that would have been ideal however Craig's work will only allow him 2 weeks off even though he told them why we are coming over! Just the two of us are coming Ruby is staying with my mum and dad - which I'm not thrilled about but I don't think it'll be fair on her seeing that we'll have such a busy schedule trying to fit everything into two weeks! We've booked our flights - fly out of Manchester on Sat 18th August, land in Brisbane on the Sunday evening. Flying with Singapore Airlines. Need now to book things for when we land such as car etc. We only booked our flights quickly as a friend works at Austravel and she said the flight back to Manchester for the date we needed was getting booked up so as we had no options with the dates we booked them then thought - oh no say if we hear before then that they (Oz) don't want me! Oh well only time will tell... Jo x

Jo, I was told by the human resource manager of a LARGE refrigeration company in Oz. that the manager from their Brissie branch will phone me to give me a phone interview. The call should have been last week!!!!!! I'm not worried at all, he'll phone when he's ready. Talk about laid back!!!!! That is how I'm looking at life now, laid back............ Aircon

Aircon - it maybe worth ringing them in case they have your number wrong. You wouldnt want to miss out on an opportunity like that - just in case. Talking of 'just in case'...Paul is taking the mickey out of me at the moment, because of my new saying. When we are clearing out, I tend to say it when we cant decide to take something - Q. shall we take this??? A. yes, we better just in case. Has anyone else got any funny sayings which are developing. |
