G'day THERE,

My partner Kerrie and myself, Jamie have just been granted permanent residency visas for Australia and intend, all being well, to migrate to the Sunshine coast area in August 2007 (after my bro's wedding). It is also our intention to go over again for another short holiday during my shut-down week at the end of May 2007, for another "look" to re-fresh our memories, as we think this would be sensible.

We feel it is very important that we now speak/contact as many people as possible who are in the same situation/recently migrated and settled in the Sunshine Coast/Brisbane areas.

Anyway, i'm Jamie, I am 33years old, and we applied on me as I’m a metal machinist/engineer and my partner, Kerrie, who is 28 years old is a qualified hair dresser, but currently working in retail. It only took approx 9months to be granted our independent permanent visa.

We live in Rugby in the West Midlands, about 10miles from Coventry and we would like to settle in the Maroochydore /Mooloolabah/ Caloundra/ Buderim area, but not yet decided!

So if all this sounds relevant, please get in touch!jamie.kerrie50@ntlworld.com

Regards, Jamie & Kerrie

Welcome Jamie. Welcome Kerrie. :D

First of all congratulations on finding us and much, much more importantly, getting the immigration nod. That's fantastic. And so quickly too!

If either Gill or myself can help out with whatever questions you only have to ask on this forum. Our resident careers advisor occasionally pops in for a look around (well, we're a very young forum...) and he lives in Caloundra, one of the places you mentioned in your posting. Incidentaly, I think he's from Coventry too. How strange is that?

You'll find that the forum is viewed (and on occassion used) by those that are looking to settle on the SC rather than already here. As time goes by more people will be settled here who have used the forum and will be able to help others.

We also have a couple of real estate folks and a mortgage advisor on board. It's all free info - so you only have to ask and we'll put you in touch - directly.

Just to let you know we live in Montville, work in Maleny and have relatives in Caloundra and Toowoomba.

With regard to your jobs I'm sure you'll both have little problems finding work.

Paul.

Hey Joey

Pics can be added when you scribble a message and, just for the record since I don't see too many avatars, hit 'My Controls' - third line from the top on the RHS and away you go!

Look forward to seeing those pics.

Hijacking over. ;)
