3am That's insane. Years back, in 1991 when I lived out here for 11 months, my parents invited me to a big outdoor garage/flea market in Brisbane. Little did I know that we'd need torches to see what was on the tables. What is it about Australians that they need to get up at silly times on a weekend?

Mrs Poms comments about Perth are coming through. She's nearly finished her stint over there. Light evenings are great. Unfortunately Queensland's pollies, still stuck in the Middle Ages, insist on ensuring that we never change our clocks for anyone - even to keep pace with the people in NSW on the border. It's like living in a different country up here.
