Are prices as competitive as they are in Adelaide? Presumably you'll be looking at a regular tenancy rather than a migrant short-termer? We're thinking we might sell the Hervey Bay beachsider next year if the market strengthens and look at buying something closer for migrant occupation on the Sunshine Coast or Brisbane.
Prices are higher and set to keep rising.

Say a $350K house in Adelaide will be at least $500K in Darwin.
There are a few rough areas as well,you'd have to do your homework.
The property we have is an apartment - very popular in Darwin as there is quite a transient population that comes in to work short term.But ours is totally managed and a bit different.

If you are running a short term house you need to live very near it - things can go wrong.
