I'm in the Air Conditioning field. Sent ALL the usual 'bumf' off to TRA, got a yes saying I am classed as a Refrigeration & Air Conditioning mechanic. (installer) Great, super, fantastic.......NOT!!!!!! Been working here over a year now, (installing A/C) and thought I would apply for my ticket/licence, sent ALL my 'bumf' + other things to TRA, and guess what? Due to the fact that I have not had as much experiance on the service side of my trade, I am under qualified for a ticket/licence. I now need to get more experience/go to tafe, for the sevice side. Just because you get a YES from the TRA, do not take it for granted that you will get your ticket/licence. Check before you make the move, do not make the mistake that I made. I am still installing A/C, without a licence just means I can't work for myself. Aircon
