But I can say here on the Sunshine Coast the average wage is $35,000 across the board. Full-time earnings in Australia averaged A$53,860 per annum in early 2006. (According to the Bureau of Statistics.) If overtime and bonuses are included, earnings were $56,350 per annum. The average full-time male wage (excluding overtime) in Australia is $57,130 per annum The average full-time female wage in Australia (excluding overtime) is $48,115 per annum. Workers in the Capital Territory (Canberra) are Australia's highest paid workers while Tasmania has the lowest average wage. Average Full Time Ordinary Time Earnings March 2006 State Average Annual Wage Tasmania $48,240 Queensland $50,270 South Australia $50,705 Victoria $53,175 Northern Territory $53,535 Western Australia $55,025 New South Wales $56,320 Capital Territory $62,060 Australia's best-paid workers are miners, whose ordinary earnings average A$85,550 a year.
