Did you go to DubFreeze? It’s one of my favourites for parts. Vanfest is always great too. Alas, VW shows are few and far between over here, but the good news is that campers, particularly the Bay Window, are not. Let's talk Volksies!

It costs a few dollars to bring a bus over. About half of what one will cost you if you buy a good one and about the same as one requiring a bit of work. So the quick answer is no, don't bring one with you. You'll also have some import duty to pay, compliance plating to undergo, yawn, yawn. Just do yourselves a favour and sell your beloved before hand. Aussie metal is fairly good if you stay away from the coast. I've got a '57 Splitscreen and my father's got a few Bays and a T25/T3 water-boxer. Why so many? No idea. He fell in love with them years back after I did and he's never been the same since. He uses two of the Bays as sheds. I know, I know, but that's Dad.

If you need help finding a bus when you're over here Bec, assuming you're at this end of the country, I might be able to help. But then again most Volksy lovers already know a thing or two.

Oh, by the way, the 1600 isn't as popular as the 1.8 litre type4 based motor, and that's about as popular as the 2 litre. With fuel at about 40 - 45 pence a litre in Queensland, mpg isn't really an issue. :D
