Hello,

There are a couple out there. The one that comes to mind for me is the 42nd Blackwatch CEF. while I don't have a unit per se, I do do events sometimes as A Co. 2nd Bttn. Seaforth Highlanders.

Hi Mike,

Our group does an impression of a 1st BN Black Watch (Regular Army), so if you would like to look into that, drop me a PM and I will give you a way to contact me.

Thanks, Pte. Munro

But I am with a group that does a display of both World Wars. We try to have someone portraying a different scottish regiment and I have the Seaforths. I do hopt to get out to Newville sometime though, so you guys might see me yet.

Thanks again for the offer though.

No problem Mike, and I might add that Rich's group is a 'top-notch' choice for anyone wanting to join an authentic and motivated GWA group. We are in the firing line to the right of his CEF BW guys, and we do a lot of field ops together as well, so either way we will get to soldier together. When you do get to Newville, stop by 'Black Watch Corner', and I'll buy you a drink...

Thanks Ed!

I also purchased a Lewis Gun last month - waiting for the ATF paperwork to clear....... We should have our sector buttoned up tight soon.

See you in a few weeks, you should see the 5th AIF / 42nd trench!

Cheers!

:army: I recently got an IM from a friend who is a Sergeant Major in the 82nd Airborne, now serving in Afghanistan (and fell in love with WWI reenacting at Newville a couple of years ago) . He says that there's a detachment of the Black Watch over there now and they are kicking some serious Taliban butt!

In Iraq a couple of years ago, some Iraqi insurgents ambushed a Black Watch convoy. Bad idea. The Highlanders did a BAYONET CHARGE against them. It worked.

See you in a week or so!
