EINSTEINEDIT: Here is where you ask specific questions about things mentioned in the book, rather than in the Project Topics subforum.

The Book

Authority Positions are chosen after candidates have been thoroughly vetted and qualified by an approved group of doctors and psychiatrists.

Who exactly chooses the members of this group?

Theoretically, we'd conduct a double-blind experiment to put together an elite cadre of trustworthy, responsable people. I'd also like to see the actual Legacy Group retain some--but not total--oversight on this.

ASSASSIN EDIT: For some reason, the forums denying me access rights to make new posts in this topic, but I CAN edit existing posts, so Ill use this one rather than my own in order to not upset the continuity of the thread.

What do you mean by a "double-blind experiment"?

When you say "elite cadre" I assume you arent suggesting that they be treated as elite, because weve mentioned Animal Farm scenarios elsewhere in the forum...

Fixed the permission masks, Alan--for some reason yours was being overridden.

To answer your question, yeah, that phrase was a bad one. I meant elite in the idea of small and selective--not accorded special priviledges. I should have just said "small and selective" I guess.

And a double-blind experiment is where the testers and testees are in the dark, with one group monitoring the results. They do it in drug testing a lot where some people get placebos--the doctors running it don't know who got what, but the next level up in the chain does. What it does is prevents tampering, and that's what I had in mind here. These are the sort of details we'll nail down in the Project Intermediary.

Ok. Also, I think maybe the people in the "next level up" should have to be approved by the public.

Well, theoretically, that'd be us, choosing doctors to run under the double blind. But yes, we'll be totally accountable to public oversight. We want to be as transparent as possible.

I know it seems that we're setting ourselves up at the top of the hierarchy, but it isn't. We simply want to remain involved, not in control.

Ok.

Also, the doctors/psychiatrists/etc who approve RMs/DMs/etc should be accountable to public veto/vote of no confidence.

Yes, though I hope it'd be apparent to us if the doctor was a quack. But you never know, do you?

Project Implementation is being discussed among Recruiters, Leaders, and Trusted. The reason for this division is because personal contact info is also disclosed here, and we want to make sure access to it is protected. People are added to Project Trusted per review by Recruiters and Leaders.

What happens when original project members die or resign? At what point do they start getting replaced, and who decides who the replacements are?
