Okay so. This is a game on the Dual Shield. It gives you a character, an objective, and tells you to do that objective. However you want. This is accomplished with a keyboard to type into any noun you can possibly think of and produce that item.

I could explain it, but this post I found elsewhere does it so much better.

I had played all the big titles at E3. Private showings of God of War III, Heavy Rain, Alan Wake. But at 4:00 on Thursday, I was wandering around the show floor, wondering what else I had to see. I saw a small little booth for "Scribblenauts!" in the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment section. I mean, who goes to that booth? But I remember hearing about it on GAF, and so I decided to check it out.

Best game of E3? Without a fucking doubt. Anyone who says otherwise did not play Scribblenauts. Best game of all time? Jesus Christ, I don't know, maybe. It's a game that challenges your IMAGINATION. No other game has ever done that.

So listen to this story. I was in the early levels; I didn't quite have an idea of how ridiculously in-depth the database was. I was summoning things like ladders, glasses of water, rayguns, what have you. But I reached a level with zombie robots, and the zombie robots kept killing me. Rayguns didn't work, a torch didn't work, a pickaxe didn't work. In my frustration, I wrote in "Time Machine". And one popped up. What the fuck? A smile dawned on my face. I hopped in, and the option was given to me to either travel to the past or the future. I chose past. When I hopped out, there were fucking dinosaurs walking around. I clicked one, and realized I could RIDE THEM. So I hopped on a fucking DINOSAUR, traveled back to the present, and stomped the shit out of robot zombies. Did you just read that sentence? Did you really? I FUCKING TRAVELED THROUGH TIME AND JUMPED ON A DINOSAUR AND USED IT TO KILL MOTHERFUCKING ROBOT ZOMBIES. This game is unbelievable. Impossible. There's nothing you can't do.

Holy fucking shit.

And then there's this video where he summons God and Cthulhu, gives God a shotgun, and has them fight to the death. No, seriously.

I've heard of this game. I was slightly skeptical (As in, maybe a time machine wouldn't be that awesome. Not that it'd suck.) This post... Has made this game an instant buy.

I wonder if I can write something like "TV Set" and break it for a power-up. Ah, the possibilities.

I swear I've told you about it. You can seriously do anything that isn't copyrighted.

Yeah, you did. I guess I missed the part where you said DS though, since I was imagining a PC game <_<

You were? I guess when you can do literally anything, you think big anyway. Then I think I phrased it as "type in any object" so that kinda sealed it.

I think he's owned by Kool-Aid. You could make him though! Just summon a pitcher and a growth ray, and draw a smiley on it.

I dunno if you can DRAW on things, but that would be awesome. I could actually do that.

... I'm going to summon a walrus, a beret, and a mustache. Then a bucket, so I can have two memes in one.

You can make Travis Touchdown in this game. ::D

He probably appears from something like otaku or Swordsman.

Also Vampire Hunter produces Hellsing.

There's also the fact that any vs topic GameFAQs can think of CAN BE ACTED OUT IN THIS GAME. At least as long as it doesn't involve copyrighted characters.

Also this is a gun for those of you who are paying attention.

EDIT: Also, ya see that picture up there of the dinosaur stomping zombies?

The game's creator himself posted that picture on the NeoGAF forums after reading Feep's story about going through time to get a dinosaur to stomp zombies.

5th Cell. Is the best. Game developer. IN THE WORLD.

The internet is won. You can go home now.

5th Cell... Insomniac... Harmonix... It seems like the less of a big name they have, the better they cater to the community. Hell, even Nexon took an old joke about a mistake and turned it into a 15-quest-long series. Harmonix actually listens to the community-- They complained about lack of Metal, and now there are like 30 songs all released at once like 6 months after. Ironically, the amount of time it takes to get a song ready. Insomniac... They interact a lot with their community, actually. They even allowed somebody to design a weapon to be ADDED to the next Ratchet and Clank. Freaking seriously.

I love these companies.

Of course. If a company's clients think they actually care, then they get a better reputation and therefore get better sales. Which is very important for small companies so that they don't get beaten into the ground by larger companies.

Well, I didn't neccesarily mean that no companies cared about their customers. Valve's reputation alone makes it impossible to say that no companies care. I'm just saying that they pretty much have to look like they care if they're ever gonna get anywehre.

Oh yeah, okay. I thought you were just being all... I dunno... 'having no faith in the human race' or something. Well.. I can point out big name companies that don't really care, and just push out multiple releases of the same exact game just to get more money. I really hate those companies. To the point, I'm probably just going to ignore all of their games. Neversoft, in particular. There's also any company responsible for yearly 'statistical updates' in sport games. Those are particularly pointless too.

But yeah, these companies, the smaller ones, that strive to make good quality products... I like them. Even the bigger companies that at least put work into their games. Square, Nintendo... They at least have a level of polish, which shows they somehow care.

I'm so off topic I can't believe it.
