Heroes was only a fourth of a Sonic game that they made you go through four times with only slightly different characters just to get to the last boss.

All the levels were rehashes of eachother and there were only what, five of them?

And TUM, you are, in fact, a Sonic whore.

Worse. Each level was only a shorter version of the full level. Team Rose has the shortest, Team Dark has the longest.

Team Dark didn't have longer levels, just more enemies.

Anyway, that was, as a matter of fact, something people ASKED for, as a throwback to the older games like S3&K where everybody went through, you guessed it, the EXACT SAME LEVELS.

Team Dark didn't have longer levels, just more enemies.

And a competent, for once, fighting system to deal with it.

The whole game stayed balanced, and Team Dark was supposed to be harder.

Not only that, but I had a painfully easy time with the rest of the game, yet never beat the final boss with any of the four teams. Cheap dick.

You couldn't take down the... fuck what was that thing's name...

HAHAHAHAH. Chump. Get your flight member to level three and spam Thunder Shoot, kicks his ass.

EDIT: Though I must admit, he was a pain in the ass. It took me forever to take him down with Team Rose, I kept bodyslamming him with Big. Everyone else was stuck on Robot Storm. Then I got past that, found out how useful a fully upgraded Thunder Shoot was, and owned him.

Then I used an Action Replay to get the Emeralds because otherwise I was completely incapable of keeping up with the fucking things. =D

So you suck at speed. That's why you insist Sonic isn't about it.

Listen, I'm not arguing with you. But I never had trouble with Robot Storm. The only time I had trouble was on the final boss, or the zeppelin boss, or just bosses in general being cheap dicks, hitting you while you were SUPPOSED to be invincible, or because collision detection and enemy animation was fucked up.

I'm not arguing about this. It was unpolished, and tried too hard to be different from regular (Read: Good) Sonic games. Giving it a story that rarely crossed over and was essentially the same for everybody... That sealed its fate inside its original box, and shipped it back to EB Games. I may have only gotten 5$, but that's worth more than the game was.

I don't suck at speed, I just suck at getting those stupid orbs. But only in that special zone, I've done quite well with Sonic 3 on the Wii's VC thus far.

Anyway, it sounds to me like you were a dumbass and got the PS2 version, which sucked horridly. I never had problems with invulnerability, collision detection, animations, nada. Robot Storm only destroyed me because I kept getting hit off the edge, and the hitstun would prevent me from recovering fast enough.

Then again, I have trouble with pretty much every game when I first start, trying to learn the layout and such, figuring out what to do. After a while of playing, I adapt. Even if I haven't played a game in a while, I can pick it back up, dust myself off with a little bit of playtime and be good as... well, not quite NEW (That would imply sucking =P), but good as I was before.

I had the gamecube version. Still had tons of issues with getting hurt when I should be invincible, etc.

Never had a problem with bonus stages. Always got the maximum amount of lives or the chaos emerald every time. It's all about how you can adapt to the speed you're moving.

What are these instances where you got hurt when you should have been invincible? Because unless you had the invincibility powerup, were in hitstun, or were playing as Team Super Sonic, you shouldn't be invincible.

Hitstun. Got knocked into another enemy's attack and died, due to not having rings.

Also, I repeatedly get knocked off the edge in the middle of a homing attack against completely defenseless enemies.

Oh, that?

... HAHA. Probably also a throwback to the old games. There's one point in one of them where you can hit some spikes, and be bounced directly onto a bunch of spikes behind them for instant death.

As for being hit during a homing attack... quite frankly, I don't get what you're saying. Provide a video and maybe I'll actually believe you're not making shit up.

If I had means to record stuff, you'd see at least one video for every difficulty of every song in GH 1 through 3. Therefore, I'm saying I have no way to give you a video, and it's not incredibly common. Still extremely irritating. Mainly happens against the Zeppelin. >_>

Edit: And the other thing. No, It didn't involve spikes. One enemy hit me, again, during a homing attack into another. I die. Bullshit.

I know it doesn't involve spikes. I believe the problem stands in that it takes a moment for the invincibility to kick in while airborne; get hit by two enemies twice in a row and you die. That's amazingly rare, though.

Being hit during a homing attack would probably be from a projectile. If not, I'd say you accidentally jump-dashed and hit it right at the end. If you want me to give a better analysis, you'd have to show me a video of it happening, because I personally encountered very few bugs in my games.

To be honest, I think anyone who says they've fallen through the floor in a Sonic game is either talking out their ass or has a scratched disk.

I've fallen through the floor, but that's been relatively rare.

As far as getting hit during the Homing Attack, there are no shooting enemies nearby. Sometimes I just get damaged by the gunless carcass of the fucking Zeppelin. And fly off the edge, most of the time. >_>

Although usually not while airborne, as Sonic's spinball jump destroys enemies... (Except in Sonic '06, but that was just plain retarded)

I'm really not sure what to say, only that something decided to fuck up. My experience with Heroes was, for the most part, glitch-free, the only difficulties coming from me sucking.

Really, I sometimes find it difficult to control a character who moves so goddamn fast. X_x ... And has a full range of motion unlike a car.

Unleashed, on the upside, looks like it won't have those nasty control issues because it looks like SEGA finally decided to take their heads out of their asses and make it correctly. =D

So you admit Heroes has plenty of flaws.

Just like any of those ramps. Half the time, I go flying off to my death. Not fun.

IT didn't have flaws, I did. Sure, there were a few problems here and there, but most of my difficulties came from me sucking.

And might I say that I have never died on a loop ever. Really, I think you're talking out yer ass here, because I've never encountered even HALF of the glitches people complain about in ANY of the Sonic games. Probably because so many of them are ones you have to actively search for, and I don't actively search for them like a fucking idiot.

A good quality game is one where you won't find glitches. Even if you look.

But really, I was running a loop with Power team (It was one of those ones that split weirdly) and Sonic fell. For some bastardized reason, there was a Speed force switchy gate thing. I run through, and next thing I know, I'm hurtling off the edge very fast. Sonic fell off the loop, and for some reason, the switch moved "me" to Sonic, instead of vice versa. Thus, I died.

Another thing. I ran into a wall at a weird angle and fell through the ground. Died.

I'm not searching for these.

New direction? Hopefully not in the same way you took certain other Sonic games. Hopefully this one won't suck or be average like the last 10 or so games.

I'd also like to point out a few other things...

1. Confirmed characters: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and Eggman.
2. New characters will be kept to a minimal.
3. EGGMAN IS THE MAIN VILLAIN BITCHES.
4. The levels are motherfucking HUGE. Some of them go up to SIX MILES. Not even the PS3 has enough memory for levels that huge, so I'm pretty sure it loads up parts of the stage depends on where you are, but it WON'T be segmented like 06.
7. Lag times, as well as several other recurring problems, are being dealt with. THEY'VE FINALLY DECIDED TO LISTEN TO THE GAMER'S COMPLAINTS!
8. The reason for 7 would probably be because this is almost a whole new team working on it. WOO, THEY FINALLY FIRED THE FUCKERS THAT MADE SHTH AND 06.
9. The game experiences new builds almost DAILY, as it's tuned and retuned to see what works best.
10. Levels are not only long, they have multiple branching paths, encouraging you to run through them multiple times to see what's fastest, or what gives you the most rings.
11. Power-ups are found in the levels.
12. There are town hubs, but if you need to do anything in them to get to the next stage, it'll probably be along the lines of SA1's, which were ludicrously simple. Towns serve mostly for you to talk to townspeople to advance/learn the story.
13. GOD DAMNIT WE WANNA SEE WEREHOG VIDEOS.

EDIT: ALSO!

The Hedgehog Engine is being used for the 360 and PS3 versions only. For the Wii, which hasn't got the power to handle the engine, many aspects are being managed by Dimps (Guys who designed Rush's and Rush Adventure's levels), so the graphics won't be quite so polished and the level design will be different to reflect the different control style.

1. Good. Now deconfirm Big and this game will not suck.
2. Good. Last time we got new characters, we got Big.
3. k.
4. Those are big, but it puts off more casual gamers who don't want to spend 10 minutes wandering a huge ass level.
5. There is none.
6. There is none.
7. Last time that happened, we got Sonic in Brawl, which led to the lowest priority, weakest character ever.
8. And Sonic Heroes?
9. I doubt they'll live up to this for longer than a week. Either that, or the changes will be incredibly insignificant.
10. Encourages more hardcore players to do speedruns and examine levels perfectly. However, it also could really make the job of walkthrough writers way too hard.
11. Okay. A Sonic game without this just plain sucks.
12. That's unfortunate, to be honest. I just want to play the game. I don't want to solve puzzles, no matter how pathetic they are. Especially when it gives you the illusion of freedom. Which really doesn't exist.
13. I don't, honestly.

Edit: I hate how people underestimate the Wii. I mean, come on. FFXII has some of the most fantastic graphics I've seen around, and it's a PS2 game. If you tried, you could make a Wii look like a 360. No one wants to put in the effort.

Huh. I seem to have forgotten 5 and 6. Whoops. ._.

Also last time we got new characters we got Silver and Elise, as 06 was the most recent.

Or rather, Rush Adventure, in which case we got Marine and a robot pirate Eggman.

To your comment on Sonic in Brawl, dude, I WRECK everyone with Sonic. If you don't suck as him, he destroys EVERYTHING.

The town hubs are only there for you to chat with townspeople and learn about the story. I'm pretty sure you don't even need to ENTER the town hubs, ever. Even if you do, you "don't have to jump through hoops" to get to the next level, which hopefully means you won't have to do anything at all. Even if you do, it'll be kept to SA standards, which highlight the item you need in the most blatant way possible, which you then pick up and carry to the destination. Simple.

Also really, what do you have against Big? I demand you read Iron Skin, Golden Heart on fanfiction.net, fucking awesome story. For that matter, read obsidian dreamer's entire series, which is also fucking awesome. Seraph > you.

I main Marth because he's fast, and tip hits require more skill than button mashing.

Pwning n00bs is fun when you use a character well (Hitting tip) and they don't know how to. Or when you can stay out of Roy's danger zone while he remains in yours.

But I HATE his recovery of uselessness.

The gameplay looks incredibly simplistic, like you're just pushing the buttons the game tells you to. The enemies seem to pose no threat at all, and the only thing that appeals to me is the ridiculous size and detail of the environments. By the way, that doesn't add anything to the game, because I'm not going to be admiring any of it. I'm more likely to just be speeding through the level.

I'll have to say, it's probably not as bad as I think, but so far it just looks mediocre.
