Here's a link to the topic on the Pikmin 2 boards where I saw it posted.

...and one time I even accidentally killed the water wraith one the first floor. when it came down, the bulblax was still alive, and I woke it up just before the wraith hit it. the wraith hit it and went WAAAAY into the air, and the airborne wraith made me jump so I accidentally hit the bitter spray button. it was petrified in midair, fell to the ground, and smashed. it never appeared again while I was in there, and the professional noisemaker was just sitting in the middle of the arena when I got to floor 5. I've tried to repeat this trick so many times, but I've never succeeded in repeating it. ;~;

I'm a bit skeptical. Didn't somebody use an AR to get purples into the earlier sublevels and kill it that way? The noisemaker appeared on the level it was killed on, and it still appeared on the other levels. And it seems strange that they would program in a completely new death animation for something that is not intended to be possible.

But I may be completely wrong, I'll wait and see if more details come.

It seems less "new death animation" and more "high-flying statue shatters to dust" to me >_>

...You know what, I'm trying it out later. My single-White playthrough's yet to be deleted; I'll just use it. (Mainly because I don't want to use my current playthrough, which is passed the Submerged Castle. Although my no-death run could also be used...)

I believe one method of easily killing it involved bitter spraying the wheels when they landed, then the WW can't move. Once the wheels unstoned, they'd just shatter.

... I think that's how that worked.

I am a fish.
So wait, bitter spray literally turns enemies into stone? I thought it just stunned them or something. >_>

Shows how much I know.

I'm not having much luck testing it...and the four-and-a-half minute wait for the WW to show up doesn't make it easier. Test five, WW will appear in...why did I not look at the clock as I entered this time >_<

Attempt five, failed.

WW will arrive in about 4 minutes.
