From the first to the third. I'm bored. >_> Congo Jungle ![]() Those two platforms closest to the center? Those rotate around each other. The other platforms don't move. You can't see it, but there's a spinning barrel cannon below the stage. Fall in it, and you can shoot yourself out to recover. If you miss, it counts as a suicide, which is the only real hazard. This stage is a starter in SSB, and can be unlocked in SSBM by, if I recall, clearing 15 man melee. Dream Land ![]() This stage is a very basic battlefield consisting of 3 drop platforms and a central one. There are almost no hazards, except Whispy Woods in the back, who will blow you away. Literally. Don't let the wind knock you off the edge. This stage is a starter in SSB, and can be unlocked in SSBM by clearing target test with every character. Hyrule Castle ![]() This stage has more hazards than most. There are several places where tornadoes appear. If a tornado hits you, it sucks you in, and blows you straight up, often killing you. Also, if you're Kirby, take care on the left side. Using down-special on that slope results in your immediate demise. This stage is a starter in SSB. Mushroom Kingdom ![]() This unique stage has a ton of hazards and is brimming with life. Kinda. This stage is unique for being the only walk-off-suicide stage in the original. Take notice of the pipes. You can enter them and come out of another. There is a third one in the hole, and you cannot enter it. If a pipe is blocked, you exit at the only other available one--Which is in the hole. The balance platform in the center can be stood on, but be careful you don't imbalance it to the point it breaks. Piranha Plants emerge from pipes too, on occasion, and will take a bite out of fighters, damaging them. They can be killed. Sometimes a POW Block appears. Strike it, and all fighters on the ground, including you, if you're on the ground, take 20% damage and fly straight up. This stage is unlocked in SSB by beating 1-Player mode with the eight original characters, and then by playing on each stage in VS. Mode. Peach's Castle ![]() I don't know how this is considered Peach's Castle. Oh well... There are two standable platforms here. The bottom one has a center, stationary, and a moving thing inside it that moves left to right, then back to the left. Because it moves, it can't be grabbed. The top one is passthrough-able, thus cannot be grabbed. The bumper above it all moves left to right and bumps people. The ramps are just there to look cool, and can't be stood upon. They do, however, limit recovery to the top platform from several angles. This is a starter stage in SSB. Planet Zebes ![]() Far different from the stage in Melee, this one is a bit more dangerous, yet more predictable. The platforms floating above the main one can be dropped and jumped through. The main one can be jumped through, if I recall, and there's a vertically moving platform on the right. Acid will rise from below, and often prevents death from the bottom of the screen. However, its knockback is very high compared to any other hazard. This is a starter stage in SSB. Sector Z ![]() What you see is what you get in the Star Fox stage. Arwings fly by for use as platforms, and they also shoot lasers, although not from the background. Thus, the lasers are more easily dodged. One of the largest stages in the original game. This is a starter stage in SSB. Saffron City ![]() The Pokemon stage from the original game. You fight on top of buildings, and there are a large variety of moving platforms as well. The highlight is the building in the center of the stage, where Pokemon come out of the door to attack. They're relatively annoying if you hang out in Center Stage. Venusaur does plenty of damage to touch, and shoots Razor Leafs for 3% each. Charmander attacks much like a fire flower does, and can be KO'd with only strong attacks like Falcon Punch or Thunder. Electrode appears, and self-destructs, KO'ing many people quickly. Chancey heals 5% upon touch, and can easily be KO'd. Porygon does around 25% damage upon touch, and cannot be KO'd. This is a starter stage in SSB. Yoshi's Island ![]() This stage is relatively simple, with 3 floating platforms and a sloped main platform. There are, however, 2 clouds on the right side and one on the left. These stick around for a short amount of time when stood upon, then vanish, only to reappear soon after. This is a starter stage in SSB. Original stages continued next post. |

Fighting Polygon Team Stage ![]() Very simple stage with only 3 platforms, and a main one. No hazards whatsoever, and extremely simplistic. Battlefield in Melee and Brawl were most likely based upon this stage. This stage is 1P Exclusive and cannot be unlocked. Master Hand's Stage ![]() This stage is even simpler than the above, consisting of only one large platform. You could say Final Destination in Melee and Brawl were based on this stage. This stage is 1P Exclusive and cannot be unlocked. Metal Mario's Stage ![]() Another simple stage, with no hazards and only one lonely platform. This is where you fight Metal Mario. Unfortunately, this stage did not make a comeback in Melee, but Smashville in Brawl is very similar, with vastly changed backgrounds. This stage is 1P Exclusive and cannot be unlocked. Kirby Beta Stage 1 ![]() This stage is similar to the Dream Land stage, yet has no hazards, and the floating platforms can serve as ledges. The bottom platform can be jumped through as well, oddly enough. This stage is hidden from access and can only be found through cheating. Kirby Beta Stage 2 ![]() Suffice to say, an interesting stage. None of the platforms shown can be jumped through. The two vertical platforms on the right move side to side. The block off the left end moves and can be grabbed onto. There is also an odd-shaped block on the left side. This stage's biggest hazard is the fact that it freezes the game once you finish a match on it. This stage is hidden from access and can only be found through cheating. Tutorial Stage ![]() This level is extremely plain, with one pass-through platform, and easier than usual KO Borders on the left and upper sides. However, Master Hand's stage cannot be beaten in simplicity. This stage is used for the tutorial movie. This stage is hidden from access and can only be found through cheating or viewing the tutorial movie. Moar later. Just for curious people who never had the original. >_> |
