--Completed Challenges-- Gilliam/Lute Duet Gilliam Solo Swords-Only Lords-Only Only use classes that get 1 weapon Magic-Only Axe-Only (Original contents of this post have been moved to below.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DARN YOU DEMON KING! I'm almost done with my Lute/Gilliam duet playthrough, and I reach the DK. Both attack and double him, hitting every time (No crits, both got hit during the counter). At the end of my turn, the DK has 2 HP. TWO FRICKIN' HP. Then he kills Lute and an Arch Mogal Shadowshot's Eirika, forcing a game over. Not that I'd finish a duet playthrough with one of the characters dead >_< So, in order for me to win this game, I have to get a crit during the final battle...or hope I have a Purge or Bolting somewhere in my supply >_< |

Well, I lack a Bolting/Purge, and I didn't get the crit. However, during the enemy turn, both the DK missed and the Draco Zombie attacked Gilliam (who couldn't be killed in one hit), so I backed away and used Elixers, returned and struck down the DK! Thus, by Lute/Gilliam Duet is complete. Turns taken: Prologue: 1 Ch. 1: 33 Ch. 2: 13 Ch. 3: 26 Ch. 4: 36 Ch. 5: 44 Ch. 5x: 26 Ch. 6: 19 Ch. 7: 39 Ch. 8: 41 Ch. 9: 20 Ch. 10: 39 Ch. 11: 24 Ch. 12: 27 Ch. 13: 12 Ch. 14: 73 Ch. 15: 73 Ch. 16: 27 Ch. 17: 37 Ch. 18: 24 Ch. 19: 5 Ch. 20: 59 Final: 37 (33 in part 1, 6 in part 2) Total turns: 742 Final stats: Gilliam Lv. 20 General 60 HP 29 STR 18 SKILL 18 SPD (+5 with Garm) 15 LUCK 24 DEF 16 RES 7 MOVE (yay swiftsoles) 16 CON S in Axes, A in Swords and Lances Lute Lv. 20 Sage 46 HP 29 MAG (One more point of magic and the DK wouldn't've survived on my first try -_-) 18 SKILL 26 SPD (+5 with Excalibur) 27 LUCK 12 DEF 25 RES 6 MOVE 6 CON (Body Ring FTW) S in Anima, A in Light, D in Staves >_> Time to go buy stat boosters and make a 2-person LA team >_> |

Summoners are Dark and Staves. That means, if I count staves as weapons, then I can't use them at all. (Or any other promoted magic user, for that matter.) So I'll play once where staves are not considered weapons and once where they are >_> |

The "staves are weapon types" playthrough will prevent any magic users from promoting (except Ewan, who can promote once). Other than that, the only limitations are: No: Warrior, Hero, Ranger, General, Great Knight, Paladin, Cavalier, Wyvern Lord, Falcoknight, Sage, or Druid. Which means that Mercenaries, Fighters, and Knights can't promote. |

Exactly. I've already beaten the game, I'm doing these because I want challenge. *just began floor 5 of the Ruins with Gilliam/Lute* Come on, treasure...maxed stats... Prologue: Gilliam doesn't join yet. Seth solo for this chapter. Chapter 1: Gilliam joins. Franz died, as I didn't protect him. >_> Chapter 2: Ross was killed first turn, so Garcia didn't join. Oh well. I saved two villages, then went to slaughter the bandits. Chapter 3: I let Colm do some stealing, then I grabbed him and carried him to Neimi at the starting area. She recruited him to keep him from running back in, and Gilliam went to finish the chapter. Hardest boss in the game on a Gilliam Solo, by the way...as he had ~75% hit and I only had ~50%, he had a throne and I had limited healing items... Chapter 4: Artur died. I visited the village Lute was in. She survived, so I was able to sell the tome she came with... also, free potion. >_> Chapter 5: Recruit Joshua, check. Have him stand south of the battle with no weapon, check. Reach level 20 while walking to the boss? Check. Chapter 5x: lolOrsonsolo Chapter 6: Grab Eirika, run in the direction of the boss. Not fast enough to spare civilians, though. Had to kill a couple of healers, as they healed the boss. Also, boss music overrides healing music. Chapter 7: Grab Eirika, run to the gate, get the Knight's Crest from the boss, promote, kill enemies, capture gate. Chapter 8: Kyle or Forde grabbed Ephraim and ran to the start, Gilliam ran around killing stuff with an axe. A New Journey: Ephraim's Route Selected. Chapter 9: Yes, I recruited Amilia. I wanted the Speedwings. Also, Gheb < Hand Axe. Chapter 10: Duessel is immune to attack. Also, Cormag died attacking Duessel. Waste of Chapter 11: No one died. Except monsters. Chapter 12: Marisa was struck down, Ewan was recruited and his Fire sold. Chapter 13: Gerik and Tethys died. After Gilliam took their stuff. Chapter 14: Rennac escaped; I killed stuff. Chapter 15: Protecting both Ephraim and Eirika is a hard task. But I moved Eirika's group to the hiding place at the west side of the map (after trading their items around so they couldn't counter). Selah (or is it Saleh?) and Innes were both cut down in combat. I took down Valter last, as a crit pierce from him is a OHKO against anyone. Hoplon Guard keeps that from happening. Chapter 16: I killed stuff. Also, level 20. Chapter 17: Syrene died. I got a Brave Axe. I defeated Lyon. Next chapter. Chapter 18: Ephraim was not carried around like I usually did to keep him safe; he just hid in a corner. Stone never hit me, so I was able to slay enemies and keep my HP up. Chapter 19: Ephraim stood next to the king-dude >_> -Player Phase 1: Gilliam walked. -Enemy Phase 1: Enemies died. -Player Phase 2: Gilliam walked. -Enemy Phase 2: Enemies died. -Player Phase 3: Gilliam walked, happened to end next to Riev. -Enemy Phase 3: Riev attacks, survives counter. Ephraim attacked, but is not hit. -Player Phase 4: loldeadRiev Chapter 20: Many monsters, few Silver Weapon Usages. Had to keep dropping Ephraim and accessing the Supply. Chapter Final pt 1: Nothing special, just kill anything standing between me and Lyon. Brave Axe for the 6-hit kill...and with Lyon being slow, I could land 4 hits per combat situation. On the second attempt at the chapter (see pt 2 notes), I landed two crits, so it was a one turn kill. Also, one Draco Zombie lived. Chapter Final pt 2: Shadowshot sucks. Especially when the enemy with it is summoned outside of Gilliam's reach. Demon King only was able to hit 18 damage per attack, and Gilliam 30-some damage, so it was just a matter of stepping back and healing when my HP dropped too low. Epilogue: Much shorter with half the cast dead. >_> |

*combines my FE:SS challenge runs into one topic* I did a Lords-only run. Ephraim's route, so that they both get several chapters of playtime before they unite. Chapter 9 was awful; Gheb had just about every advantage imaginable against Ephraim, and too high defence to waste time throwing javelins. That's where most of his deaths came from before I landed the very lucky streak required to kill the boss. And neither of them could promote until the end of Chapter 16, so I was very underpowered until the end of the game. Chapter 19 took 3 tries: First, I tried rushing the boss, but Mansel died before I could reach Riev. Second, Eirika rescued Mansel, but ended up surrounded and killed (by repeated 20% hit rates -.-) while Ephraim rushed the boss. Third attempt, grabbed Mansel, killed the Brave Sword/Lance droppers, then ran to the northwest room to hold out. Turns Taken: Prologue: 3 Chapter 1: 23 Chapter 2: 10 Chapter 3: 25 Chapter 4: 23 Chapter 5: 33 Chapter 5x: 74 Chapter 6: 12 Chapter 7: 10 Chapter 8: 30 Chapter 9: 59 Chapter 10: 11 Chapter 11: 16 Chapter 12: 32 Chapter 13: 64 Chapter 14: 106 Chapter 15: 130 Chapter 16: 27 Chapter 17: 29 Chapter 18: 19 Chapter 19: 14 Chapter 20: 42 Final Chapter: 35 Total Turns: 827 Time Taken: 12:22:00 (Wow, ended on 00 seconds.) Single-weapon-type-per-character challenge begins! This is the no-magic version of the run. Prologue: This is the kind of things people pray to the RNG goddess for. First try, Eirika crit'd everyone to death. Chapter 1: Took Franz's iron swords and gave it to Eirika, she killed everyone, 2HKO'ed the boss via Rapier. Chapter 2: Rescued and recruited Ross and Garcia. Didn't get the southern-most village, since all enemies died before I could reach it. Chapter 3: Recruited and began supporting Neimi and Colm. Boss abused Ross to 10 so he could promote and be a useful member of the team >_> Chapter 4: Ross, Eirika, Colm, and Neimi ran around. Monsters died. Chapter 5: Sent Colm and Neimi up the left path, Eirika and Ross cleared the area near Joshua so Natasha could recruit him, and had Vanessa visit the southernmost house then hide. And I just realized that I forgot to delay killing the boss to get Colm/Neimi their A-support. >_< Chapter 5x: Ephraim solo. Lots of healing item uses, broke a steel lance and almost broke the javelin. Chapter 6: Rushed the boss. Spider never even became visible. Chapter 7: Neimi ballista'd several soldiers, Colm stole energy drops, enemies died. Chapter 8: Reunited Eph with the team, killed stuff, impaled the boss, got treasure. Went Eirika route due to having more of my team availiable sooner. Chapter 9: Ross went south and killed everything that even thought it was near the boss as he got the Rapier from the village, everyone else rushed west then south, killing stuff then recruiting Amelia. Boss abuse with her proved impossible due to her absolute fail offense, so she's gonna be a level 1 recruit for a bit longer... Chapter 10: Went south, recruited people, broke the bosses tome as I built supports then boss abused Amelia to 10 so she could promote from Recruit to Recruit. Chapter 11: Killed monsters, recruited Dozla and his useless sidekick <_< Chapter 12: Recruit + Supports > Swordmaster. Amelia critted pretty much everything she even LOOKED at. Recruited Ewan for his Energy Ring. Chapter 13: Amelia and Neimi went south, Neimi taking the ballista. Innes and Joshua went north, taking that ballista. Ross and Dozla went east and slaughtered stuff. Colm, Tana, and Marisa went northwest and took out enemies at the forts. Eirika stood around and waited to recruit Cormag, then Pablo came, I slaughtered a few of his men, Tana took Cormag's Killer Lance and killed the evil sage then pulled a megah4x and dodged about eight 60%+ attacks while critting everyone back. Last turn, newly-promoted 'zerker Ross struck the boss. Chapter 14: I split up, paid Rennac to join me, looted stuff, killed stuff, pwned the boss with Amelia + supports, as she was the only unpromoted person without a chance to get crit by Mr. Swordmaster on the throne. Chapter 15: Eph rejoins this chapter, giving me my full team. Colm and Josh promoted. Colm stole both boss drops, Josh (before promoting) avenged his mom while Neimi sniped Valter. Also got all the items in the sand, but forgot to do supports >_> Chapter 16: Not started, but the rest of the team should promote here. Chapter 17: Spread out, killed stuff, saved the villagers. Chapter 18: Killed monsters, killed eggs, Rennac got stoned but no one attacked him after that. Chapter 19: Got all supports done, passed out statboosters and non-iron/steel weaponry, and went into war. Neimi/Amelia/Ross took the northern hall, Dozla and Rennac went for the eastern chests, everyone else charged southwest. Got all chests, killed all enemies, and finished Reiv on the last turn. Chapter 20: Equipped silver and killer weapons and went into the chapter. Reiv died early due to Tana with a Brave Lance flying over. Split everyone else into two groups to slaughter the monsters on my way around. Final Chapter: Equipped Sacred Twins and charged. Neimi got the Angelic Robe, then her and Joshua took down Lyon. Eirika, Ephraim, and Tana were all within reach of the DK first turn of the final battle, so the DK died quickly. Magic-only run. OH MY GOD WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING Prologue-Chapter 3: As usual, Seth solo until I get a legal character (other than Moulder, since I can't exactly kill with a healer). Rescued Ross/Garcia so Moulder could get an extra 22 exp for healing them. Chapter 4: Took four tries to beat Chapter 4. Artur was NOT built for soloing the first half of the map...ended up saying "Screw this" and deployed Seth to rescue Eirika so I would have one fewer person to try to protect. Ugh. Chapter 5: ...I need the guiding ring, so I have to protect all the houses. Oh man that sucked. Sent Moulder to the south house, sent Artur/Lute/Natasha north. Actually recruited Joshua instead of killing him due to his stupidly high speed meaning I'd have to attack with both my attackers to kill with ~70% display hit. Was not easy, but I actually succeeded first try. Chapter 5x: Orson solo. Dropped Reginleif lol. Ephraim is loaded with swords to sell, Forde has lances to sell and will be rescued by Kyle in Ch. 8 to prevent him from using them, Kyle has potions and chest keys. Chapter 6: Took my time, so the civilians didn't stand a chance. Natasha/Moulder used Torch staves for exp and visibility as Lute/Artur slaughtered everyone. Chapter 7: Pretty simple; killed enemies and took the gate. Next. Chapter 8: Both Lute and Artur hit level 20, but I left my Guiding Ring in Gilliam's inventory by accident while sorting through my items prior to chapter 7, so I wasn't able to promote yet. Only got one chest (Angelic Robe) since I ended up not having a door key to get to the other two. Chapter 9: Went Eirika's route to get Saleh sooner. Promoted Artur to Sage so that he could use the cheaper/stronger Anima; Lute'll have to wait. Got the Dragonshield from the house but lost the other one (not that you can save the Rapier house without a flyer or pirate). Also recruited Amelia so I could take the speedwings. Artur got almost all of the kills, though Lute had to protect the healers/Eirika a couple of times. Chapter 10: Rushed the boss with Artur while Lute protected the healers/Eirika. With the bosses Guiding Ring, Lute promoted to Sage and cleared what was left of the bottom half of the map. Marisa didn't stand a chance against Lute's fireballs. Innes/Gerik/Tethys were just fine on their own; didn't recruit them until after the enemies had all been slain. Chapter 11: Artur, Natasha, and Eirika went south; Lute and Moulder went east. Torch staves lit the way. Recruited L'Arachel then broke her Torch staff for exp while I was here; next fog map is Chapter 19 and there won't be time for torchspam then. Also got all chests. Chapter 12: With Saleh, I now have 3 Sages dealing damage. Too bad he's inferior to Artur/Lute. Also recruited Ewan, used his Energy Ring, and fed him enough kills to reach level 10 so he can promote at the start of the next chapter. Chapter 13: Rushed the boss with Lute/Artur/Saleh; Ewan went south to kill a couple archers for exp. Chapter 14: Let Ewan get most of the kills, so he's now lv. 19. Let the boss break his sword so I could spam staves. Brought in chest keys so I could get all treasure, recruited Rennac for the member's card, and bought two guiding rings. Chapter 15: Promoted Ewan to Super Pupil, recruited Knoll, killed stuff. Ended up wasting a mountain of turns, as I forgot that I'd supported at the start of the chapter instead of the end...and forgot the warp staff. >_< Chapter 16: Got Purge from one of the sages, got all chests (except the 5000G chest, forgot it was cash and thus let a thief open it to save a key, since I could get an item back by killing the thief...but it wasn't an item). Chapter 17: Knoll and Moulder promoted, all civilians protected, took two tries because Moulder decided that he would die quickly to magic. Chapter 18: Magic users spread out and killed stuff. Lute got hit by the boss's Stone spell, but didn't get killed. Chapter 19: Promoted L'Arachel, then charged the boss. Too bad I ended up not using the tome I got for defeating said boss... Chapter 20: Natasha promoted, then I killed stuff. Simple chapter really. Luna > Dragon. Final Chapter Part 1: ...because when handing out weaponry for the final chapter, I realized that my only light-user with A or higher in Light was Artur, my S-rank light user, who got Ivaldi. Lute got Excalibur, Knoll got Glephnir, Saleh got Fimbulvetr, Ewan got the entire magic triangle, and anyone not mentioned got the best tome they could use. Killed one dragon via Lute+Excalibur, the other via Ewan with Eclipse->Nosferatu (halved hp, then healed all the damage it dealt). Opened the chest with the master seal instead of the angelic wings by mistake. Beat Lyon with no trouble. Final Chapter Part 2: Hit twice in a row with Eclipse (40% and 41% hit rate) then landed a crit using Lute (100% hit, 10% crit) for the final blow. Turns taken: Prologue: 3 Chapter 1: 5 Chapter 2: 5 Chapter 3: 15 (All chapters up through here were Seth solo due to lack of mages) Chapter 4: 43 (The challenge begins here.) Chapter 5: 22 Chapter 5x: 20 (No mages, so Orson solo) Chapter 6: 29 Chapter 7: 45 Chapter 8: 38 Chapter 9: 16 Chapter 10: 24 Chapter 11: 26 Chapter 12: 44 Chapter 13: 2 Chapter 14: 105 Chapter 15: 110 Chapter 16: 22 Chapter 17: 48 Chapter 18: 14 Chapter 19: 7 Chapter 20: 25 Final Chapter: 12 (10/2) Total: 680 (632 not counting non-mage chapters) Sage Lute Lv. 20/16 -Stats: HP: 44 Mag: 29 Skill: 21 Spd: 25 Luck: 25 Def: 12 Res: 19 Move: 6 Con: 4 Battles: 332 Wins: 230 Losses: 0 -Weapon Ranks: Anima: S Light: C Dark: - Staff: D -Supports: Artur: A Knoll: B Sage Artur Lv. 20/13 -Stats: HP: 40 Mag: 22 Skill: 24 Spd: 23 Luck: 14 Def: 7 Res: 25* Move: 6 Con: 7 Battles: 227 Wins: 186 Losses: 1 -Weapon Ranks: Anima: A Light: S Dark: - Staff: D -Supports: Lute: A Sage Saleh Lv. ??/11 -Stats: HP: 33 Mag: 19 Skill: 20 Spd: 16 Luck: 17 Def: 13 Res: 17 Move: 6 Con: 8 Battles: 77 Wins: 67 Losses: 0 -Weapon Ranks: Anima: S Light: B Dark: - Staff: C -Supports: Ewan: A Druid Knoll Lv. 20/14 -Stats: HP: 42 Mag: 24 Skill: 21 Spd: 21 Luck: 2 Def: 7 Res: 22 Move: 6 Con: 8 Battles: 101 Wins: 79 Losses: 1 -Weapon Ranks: Anima: D Light: - Dark: S Staff: E -Supports: Natasha: A Lute: B Super Pupil Ewan Lv. 10/20/14 -Stats: HP: 41 Mag: 26 Skill: 16 Spd: 23 Luck: 30* Def: 10 Res: 25 Move: 6 +2 Con: 5 +2 Battles: 199 Wins: 161 Losses: 1 -Weapon Ranks: Anima: A Light: E Dark: S Staff: - -Supports: Saleh: A Bishop Natasha Lv. 12/9 -Stats: HP: 32 Mag: 14 Skill: 10 Spd: 16 Luck: 14 Def: 5 Res: 19 Move: 6 Con: 5 Battles: 43 Wins: 18 Losses: 1 -Weapon Ranks: Anima: - Light: C Dark: - Staff: A -Supports: Knoll A Bishop Moulder Lv. 12/10 -Stats: HP: 38 Mag: 17 Skill: 12 Spd: 20 Luck: 1 Def: 10 Res: 13 Move: 6 Con: 11 Battles: 57 Wins: 26 Losses: 2 -Weapon Ranks: Anima: - Light: C Dark: - Staff: A -Supports: None Mage Knight L'Arachel Lv. 12/4 -Stats: HP: 27 Mag: 14 Skill: 14 Spd: 17 Luck: 20 Def: 7 Res: 18 Move: 7 Con: 6 Battles: 26 Wins: 10 Losses: 0 -Weapon Ranks: Anima: C Light: - Dark: - Staff: A -Supports: None (though she is ready to support Eirika due to carrying her so long) |

Axe-only run. Not gonna post character stats; used Ross (Berserker), Garcia (Warrior), Gerik (Hero), Duessel (Great Knight), and Dozla (Berserker). I am going to post turn counts though. Not posting per-chapter notes because I started the run a while back and don't remember much of anything prior to me picking up where I left off (the final chapter <_<), other than the fact that I got the Light Brand in 19. I was quite shocked about that - 5 characters managed to keep enough knights alive to earn the extra prize. =p P - 3 1 - 5 2 - 24 3 - 30 4 - 27 5 - 21 5x - 27 6 - 28 7 - 26 8 - 32 9 - 42 10 - 11 11 - 45 12 - 51 13 - 37 14 - 59 15 - 44 16 - 20 17 - 15 18 - 10 19 - 6 20 - 31 F - 23 Total: 617 |
