Welcome to the first round of One Theme, One Thought  The contestants were told to create a tag or lp displaying their chosen themes. You are voting on how well they displayed their theme,not on how it looks. Remeber,your votes do count,however,me and the other 2 judges votes count more than yours. Yuna GMV xYunaxFantasies Exemplifies her theme quite well. Whenever I think of J/K/pop I think of asian girls in random poses staring at the camera. Works well. I like the colorization and the way it is organized, text is nice as well. Render on the left seems to be lacking in quality, and I don't like the pattern over it, but it's all right. Kage made a rather generic, smudge/grunge/filter sig, with the dude from Devil May Cry. When I think of capcom, I think of the good old days with megaman, street fighter, dark stalkers, and Captain Commando. Not so much the newer characters. This sig doesn't really display any emotion, movement, or personality whatsoever. Yuna's doesn't really either, but the presentation on hers is much, much better. |

You obviously don't understand the text and the emotions shown through Hyori's eyes and the background image  Oh well, not everyone can look that deep into a meaning of a piece but I would be more than happy to explain the concept if you weren't so ignorant or more so prejudice... [size=-1]You have to admit HS, that post was offensive to me, regardless if it was intentional and a joke or not. I can't help it that I'm so sensitive  [/size]

Yuna GMV. Because her theme was more specific and not broad, therefore hers portrait the theme of missing you more. If you look in hyori eyes, It showed that she is thinking of someone. Well that's all. OH and it's beeeeeeeeeeeeeutiful! |

Sure, explain the meaning, but when someone says Jpop I think of random asian girls walking around staring at the camera, or looking of to the side, or doing whatever they decide to do. Whenever I open up photoshop I'm generally not concerned with something emotional, I'm only concerned with making something that looks awesome (Improving photos mostly, I'm not real big on sigs and GFX work, which is most of mine suck a lot). If emotion and deep meaning comes out of it, that's an extra little bonus there. I don't like Jpop or Kpop. It's just not my cup of tea. I took some suggestions from members on the board, listened to it for a while, and my opinion remained the same. I don't like it. If you said "I hate metal" or "I hate industrial" I could care less. It just does not appeal to you, and I understand that. (Aside: Metal is probably a bad example, it's an incredibly diverse genre, I could probably find you a metal band EVEN YOU would like) You're not going to hurt my feelings. You could write a whole essay on it, and I probably would read it if I was bored, I wouldn't be offended. You can make jokes about it, and I would probably laugh at them, (Like my personal one, that I tell to my friends "Jpop? More like GAYpop!") because there are flaws in every genre, and we all need to realize not everything appeals to everyone. I can admire J/Kpop a little bit, because a lot of the music sounds like it took some real talent to make. Maybe not some of these pop stars that use tons of synthesizers and computer software to change their voice and mix their songs, but a lot of the stuff that is real popular seems like SOMEONE put a lot of work in it; but that won't make me like it any more. Whenever I judge a graphic piece, I judge it by how it looks, and in this case how it goes with the theme. It wouldn't be fair to vote for the other guy just because I don't like your kind of music. I voted for you because in my opinion yours is the better one, yours identifies the theme better, and your probably took more work than his. |

Read Kex's post. I guess Kex forgot to add my real theme in there. I had previously said that jpop/kpop was too broad so I went with an actual theme as in setting a mood or purpose of the graphic. Secondly, read my post, there's a reason why I quoted a specific part of your post =/ All I'm saying is that you said:

That why I said that you didn't look into the poster enough to grasp the concept that I was trying to display which was the point of this tournament, so that people who can't make a great graphics can have a fair chance of winning using their composition and creativity skills. I was offended by the fact that you said my piece "doesn't really display any emotion, movement, or personality whatsoever" when clearly I tried to convey a theme that you obviously did not see. I just had to clear that up. As for the Jpop/Kpop comment, I just thought it was random cause Jpop/kpop is a genre of music and you make a comment that make it seems like that is...I don't know how all Asian media is....which was kind of irrelevant in my opinion. That was just how I interpreted your comment. Of course it may not have been what you meant. Your opinions about Asian music will always stand so I find no reason to persuade you otherwise. I'm not that ignorant. So the problem or misunderstand is that you and I have a different definition and view of theme. I look more for a concept and hidden messages/mood while you just judge what's in front of you. If you don't understand what I'm saying, just PM, msn, IM, whatever me. Kaze GMV, Gosh, WHO MADE THIS VOTING THINGY SO HARD?!?!?! I saw the hyolee piece before...I am not sure what is really going on with it?too many colors..maybe she is feeling chaotic?0.o doesn't feel exaclty sad, I think the right picture spoiled it, overall the piece's colors clash...too dark with more bright colors...not my taste Kaze's, I have no idea what Cpcom is..but I suppose it is a game? I really liked the "icy glare" felling formed by the sharp smudging I adore the text..simple..but yet eyecatching, good lighting...GJ! |

I am kage, like, the, very bad person at graphics. Capcom is a company that makes games. HyperSniper, the first capcom games I played were megaman and Street Fighter 2 on SNES. I agree, they were good, but I like the new games as well, and I don't like sprite sigs too much. |

Yuna...good concept I definately feel the emotions in it. Kage's is a bit too grainy and typography isn't really the best suited. |

Yuna GMV I really love this piece. I think it displays the theme well, and the whole piece seems to flow. It looks like more effort was put into it than Kage's, and it just appeals to me more. Great job Yuna! ^^ |
