HOW TO MAKE A ROLLOVER MUSIC SIG IN FLASH MX 04

--------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Firstly, we need to open a new document.

2. Now, bearing in mind the sig you want to use, set the size of the flash document like so:

Posted Image

Note: These are the settings for my sig, you must make the size of your document the size of the sig you are using

3. Now, hold "ctrl" and press "r" to open the import window. find the sig you want to use and click open.

4. If it hasnt centered automatically, use the white arrow tool to move the sig so there is no white areas around it and so that the sig is fully on the document.

5. Double click on the sig, and press "F8", this will open the convert to symbol option, select "Button" and name it "overButton"

Posted Image

6. Using the black arrow tool, double click your sig and the timeline bar at the top should display this now:

7. Right Click on the white section under "Over", and select "Insert Ket Frame"

Posted Image

8. Now, while still on the "Over" section, hold "ctrl" and press "r" to import the song you want to use in your sig. Select it, and click open.

Posted Image

9. Still on the over part, go down to the bottom to properties, in the "sound" option, select your song, and in the "Sync" option, select "Start"

Posted Image

10. Now, select "Up" in the timeline, and yet again go to properties, in the "sound option select your song, and in the "Sync" option, select "Stop"

Posted Image

11. Now we need to see if the sig works. So, hold "Ctrl" and press "Enter", this should open a test zone. roll over the sig to see if your song plays.

Note: My example doesnt play because im showing you how to do it first...

12. If the sig does work, or doesnt stop after you've rolled off the sig, go back and try to fix it. If all is fine, WELL DONE! youve done the hard parts. Now go to file > publish settings.

Posted Image

13. At the top of the first window, where it says flash, ajacent to the name box, there is a little yellow folder, click this folder to choose your save destination.

Posted Image

14. Pick Your folder destination, and your file save name, and click save.

Note: It should be saving as a .swf file

Posted Image

15. Now, click on the tab "Flash", between Formats and HTML. Select "override sound settings" (at the bottom), and then click publish.

16. Your sig is now saved in the folder you chose. Now we need to get it on the net. We need a host for a .swf, so try some of the following:

Free Web Town
Site Sled
My File Stash

17. Now, when it is upped onto a site, we can put it on our site! (As long as it enables flash) So how do we do that? We need a special Embedding code...

18. Use this code to put your file into:

<embed src="Insert URL Here" width="Insert Width Here" height="Insert Height Here"</embed>

19. My sig has been upped on my Supanet server, so i will first put:

<embed src="http://www.chrisvaile.supanet.com/ChristianSig.swf" width="???" height="???"</embed>

20. Now i need to insert the width and height, so since i have a 400x200 sig, i put 400 in width and 200 in height
You should put your own sizes and links in (obviously!)

At the end, i am done and now i have my flash sig!

<embed src="http://www.chrisvaile.supanet.com/ChristianSig.swf" width="400" height="200"</embed>

Good hey? I hope this tut helped you, it took me a long time to make it so i hope it did! Enjoy people! :)
