Tutorial for Paint Shop Pro: Flames
By: bl00ey
Difficulty: 4/10
Credits: Idea from PS Tutorial: Flames
-----------------------------------------
Step 1
Make a new image, Posted Image and make it however big you are planning the flames to be. Make the background either black or white.
Step 2
Using the PaintBrush (B) Posted Image tool draw a line horizontally across the image, about size 10-20px in a circle shape.
Posted Image
(*Note: if you use a white background then draw a black line instead of white.)
Step 3
Click on the Smudge tool:

Make the settings like this:

And smudge it upwards and curvy so it looks like flame. This part is takes a lot of patience and I suck at it xP so here`s mine:

Step 4
Now click this:

On your Material palette do this,
Posted Image
And this thing should pop up, click on the Gradient tab, make the pattern Red-Orange-Yellow, and click the first style.
Posted Image
Now using the Change To Target thing, color the fire so you should have something like this:
Posted Image
Step 5
Right-click & copy the image and paste a new layer (CTRL + L). Then press "F8" on your keyboard to get the Layer Palette and make the Blend Mode "Screen"
Posted Image
Then go to Layers --> Merge --> Merge All (Flatten)
Step 6
Now go to the tab: Adjust --> Blur --> Blur. After it blurred go back to Adjust, and then Softness and click on Soft Focus.
It should looks sort of like flames xP if you want you can go back and re-smudge if you`re not happy with the shape of your fire.

Finished Product:

I went back and made the color sort of yellowish by using the Change To Target Brush (Step 4). I truly hope you did the smudging better then me -__- because my look really bad

Just keep smudging. It takes awhile to get it to that height.
