Then after upgrading, two years later another version come out, another start over, eh? It's not just about the upgrade, it's about the current number of members and activity. The number of activity has decreased greatly since the start of RE so it wouldn't be such a bad idea to start fresh but the upgrade does not require the stripping of all current database so it really doesn't matter.
