Hey guys! In an effort to tighten up stories and make the overall story of the game more enjoyable for everyone involved, I'm asking for feedback regarding what you'd like to see in upcoming story arcs, either from the stories themselves or from the techniques employed to tell those stories. I'm not perfect and I make mistakes as often as I do things right, so I need to know what you guys think in order to address my faults. You can post what you want to see either here in this forum, through e-mail, or via IMs - I do have offline IMs enabled, so you can send me a message at any time and I'll likely receive it. Storyarcs aren't set in stone. I'm currently in the process of planning out the next several plays, but player action always trumps whatever I have written. I can't plan for all contingencies, but if I have some idea on what people would like to experience, then I can at least try to make those experiences available to you. |

You're aware of my stance on inclusion. I'm going to add that I want to make sure there's a balance between dramatic and relaxed arcs, that we aren't constantly putting the chars through the ringer. It was more understandable when we were playing CGRaiders because they were at least past college level and were making full-on conscious choices to pursue vigilantism, at least until the Raiders were officially recognized and established after which all relevant characters stayed with it. These kids, while aware of their choices and their parents, need to be reminded that just because their parents were heroes, they don't have to be. Granted, Dean Aegis is doing very well to press that point but I wonder if it couldn't go a single step further by ensuring that one of the next upcoming arcs was light in tone. I don't mean "downtime between arcs" or "sideplots around building danger before arc climaxes," I mean the creation of a legit arc with a beginning, middle and end that is more relaxed than kidnappings and bloody war in the shadows. Of course there would be some kind of drama, some goal or whatnot to achieve and something to drive the plot, but it won't be "save the world." |
