Field Commander

Name: Jenet Darklowe Rank: Nautical Commander Security Clearance: Level 6 Date: Nov 11, 20XX Subject: Surprises Good and Bad This was a mission to stop North Metropolis from burning. I feel really bad for that section of the city; it's been getting a lot of face time. Seems that the rest of the bad criminals are making a last stand there, or something. I warn you now, this was hectic and confusing. You'll have to bear with me on this one. I took the Black Diamond there with Camitzal, Rave, Arisa, and Nearon in tow. It didn't take too long to see what was going on, and where it was all coming from... someone laughing, and then a new bit of spreading fire led us right to the guys. I stuck on the roof to coordinate while the others hoofed it. Here's where my dimension went up, and it's a damn good thing too. Obvious thing to do is to crack a hydrant and put some of that fire out, right? Well, we did that and the fire just spread. I ain't think it was a chemical fire, but I shoulda guessed by the way it was spreading around. Napalm... our water only started making a mess of things, and it's not like we go around carrying foam. So, I made the decision to take down the firestarter and radioed in to TDF, requesting they load and pass over the city with something that could take out chemical fires. Krieg obliged. Figured that one threat or the other can be dealt with first-- if the firestarter was taken out, then they couldn't start any more and we could just deal with what we had before the barrier. Take the fires out first, and the enemy'll have to start from scratch while dealing with us. Meanwhile, the guys down low figured out that it was actually two people causing trouble, a black-feathered avian (crow, I think) and the real threat, a red panda. The teams split into duets to take down the enemies... Nearon and Tzal taking the crow, Arisa and Rave to the red panda. Considering the way this all turned out, I couldn't care less what their names are... so I'm gonna use Crow and Red from now on. Check with the TDF for their names if it matters that much to you. Crow used some sort of magic to increase his size, strength, all that stuff, and Nearon and Tzal did well to fight him off. In the end, while the others kept him busy, I shot him in the head with a Dampener charge. Crow was seein' stars, going down hard and reverting his shape, and will probably wake up feeling like one ran him over in a semi. What happened with Red, Arisa, and Rave was kinda confusing, but I made sense of their stories. Rave and Arisa were keeping Red busy, but after a dodge, she landed and got dragged into the ground, and down into the subway under our feet. Come to find out, Lucien was hanging around and waiting for us to get busy, to pick us off. I didn't know Arisa was gone 'till I tried calling to make sure everyone was still cool, and not getting answered made me send Tzal to go find her. Nearon soon joined in the search, and I lost contact with him. Still though, I had to let everyone know that the planes with the flame retardant was coming. I thought we'd have to get under cover or something for the chemicals, so I was counting down the time while making my way off the roof and onto the street. Tzal ended up fighting Red, saving Rave from a nasty fall in the process... she was still knocked out, though. I was getting tired of Red being around, and made my way to her, while still counting down and looking for everyone. I heard rumbling below... and being around the Raiders, for some odd reason, I figured that that's where the others were. Still, we weren't talking and I was worrying 'cause I didn't know Lucien was around. Everyone got the countdown though, as well as my warning that I was dropping the barrier (if the barrier was up and the fire was put out, then the fire would still be there when the barrier went down-- it reverts to its previous state rather than the best one) and three TDF planes did a flyby over the city, putting out about 90% of the flames in one pass. In the wake of the pass, I was on the ground with Crow and Tzal was the closest one to Red. Red tore off to escape and Tzal followed. I was about to go too, but Arisa finally got through to me, and I had to stay and direct my ship where to use the Diamond Cutter (after putting the barrier back up to save the city that expense). Seems that fight with Lucien hadn't gone to well and he collapsed the subway and trapped our Raiders. That damage, I couldn't prevent. However, Arisa and Nearon were safely pulled from the rubble by TDF officers getting my okay to move in. With that done, I locked onto and closed in on Tzal's position to keep track of her and Red, just to hear that Goth, who was on another mission, had shown up fashionably late to end the chase. It was all good news, until that Red bitch decided to do things the hard way. With the two of them still in tanks, I can't tell exactly what happened... but Goth suddenly warned me that more fire retardant was needed, and that was fine... TDF by now had chemical extinguishers and we were there, ready to put Red out in her resisting arrest. However, just as I got around the corner, she... she exploded. Camitzal (the reason more retardant was needed as she'd been set aflame) got a hard burst of it, enough to knock her out with enough singing to last for weeks... 2nd degree burns, 1st if we're lucky. Goth, however, took most of it. It's no small miracle that we were there to put them both out and rush them to the Black Diamond, but I don't like the way Goth's looking right now... I've no doubt that he's got 3rd degree burns and may need the whole graft bit, even with the Rejuv tanks. Arisa and Nearon, though shaken, only recieved minor injuries and are fine. This should serve as a harrowing reminder that our opponents are not all honorable, and some may fight to the very end to have us killed. Keep Goth and Camitzal in y'all's thoughts, and let's keep working to take down that son of a bitch that started all this damned insanity. Agh damn it, I almost forgot about Kitsue. Not everyone remembers him, but he's an ally and either lived in the city or went to help. Either way, He was there to keep Arisa and Nearon stable and help them out. I don't know if he's staying but if you see him on one of the ships, give him a "thank you" for sticking with us. |
