Field Commander
|
Name: Vector Rath Rank: Field Agent Security Clearance: Level 5 Date: Oct 24, 20XX This first report deals with near a weak ago, when most of our forces were sent to two different high-activity, high-danger areas. I lead Camitzal, Fraise, Goth, and Mizz. We were sent to check on a report that a TDP outpost was silent for too long, and the officers that had been dispatched weren't answering either. We were only a couple of blocks away when the sounds of battle reached our ears-- weapon fire, explosions, and screams. Goth and Fraise, having taken a parallel route to the rest of us, were closer and given the word to scout ahead, that the rest of us may be prepared. He reported immediately that there was a darkling, so I allowed him permission to engage. The wisdom in that may be questioned later, for despite having "heavy hitter" by his name, Goth was having a hard time of it by the time we arrived on the scene. The area was rife with bodies in various states of life, though all were dying quickly. As I relayed the need for medics, everyone else went in to attack. The darkling proved its strength against us, holding its own against well-timed attacks, even moving quickly and encouraging us to attack each other. However, after a certain familiar attack of rolling against me with spines to saw through my body (blocked with my sword, thank the Witchmoon), the darkling took the time to taunt us and take shape as Kilamo. Attack intensity increased greatly, with us giving this false Kilamo a run for its money. However, it managed to escape us, and we were left in the field of bodies. Medics arrived soon after and were able to save some, revive fewer, and gather the rest. The being's identity was a mystery to us until Mizz identified it as Velkyn, Kilamo's "brother" and a fellow darkling. It should be stated that Kilamo's essence is still fused with Mizz at last check, so there should be no confusion as far as that. Afterwards, after some information exchange with the TDF, we learned that the ship that held Kilamo's body had been attacked attacked and sent to the bottom of the ocean - crew and all. Upon recovery of the ship, Kilamo's comatose body was found missing. My next report is another that requires looking into, but on a personal level. Near three nights ago at the hour of ten, I found myself at the end of a sort of cleanup. I had just finished taking care of some thugs looking for easy coin in the slums on Metropolis' western edge, when another person approached me from afar. Leaving the TDP to finish the matters with the others, I followed a curious chiming sound that the person seemed to emit. Upon nearing, I could see that this fighter was a swordsman, a Turkish Angora. Immediately did I suspect that he was Daan and I attempted to confirm such with a Nekohlian salute, but only after offering it did I notice a cloth about his eyes. Nevertheless, he returned the gesture, perhaps out of habit or knowledge of me. He then twirled his blade, which produced the soft chime that initially alerted me to his presence. We were both wordless as we fought. I suspected him to be a good fighter, being blind, Nekohlian, and still coming this way to challenge me. Indeed, he gave me a challenge actual, though in hindsight I wonder if I wasn't so worried about the fact that the Empire still searched for me, and used Hannibal's call to arms as a way to inspire more hunters. The battle was close, two swords and swordsmen dodging and weaving, attacking, parrying, and looking for the decisive strike. Figuring that the opponent used his sword to both distract and locate (perhaps in the way a bat does), I performed an unorthodox parry that set him up for a pursuit and last second redirect, one that set him with a gash to the legs. He was immediately surprised by my blade's unique properties, and his hesitation and momentary weakness gave me just enough of an opening and edge to kick him in the chin. He was separated from his blade, and with me then standing over him with my foot on his weapon, he yielded. Xen'hua was his name, and he denied that he was sent by the Empire; rather, he wished to challenge me. I truly don't know how to respond to his constantly calling me "lord Domino," though I suppose it's good that at least one has faith in me and the truth back in the homeland. However, he relayed to me a warning that ever since we all left, there's been trouble. The clans all clamor for something, though Xen'hua knew not what. I fear that my actions there concerning the Dominoes, despite my reasons, may have only caused more trouble. I must apologize for the slow timing of this report, for that's what I've been attending to. While I cannot go, I've been doing my best to gather some information about the situation. If at all possible, I plan to have Xen'hua as my go-between. As he posed no danger to innocents, his offense mounts to "assault on an officer." I realize that we have greater things to worry about, but as I have a personal interest in my homeland, forgive me if, after a long session of information gathering and analyzing, I pass you in our ships' halls without so much as saying hello. "Saying hello." Did you see what I did there? |
