A dismissal and a Lesson

The camera finds Mr. Vain in what appears to be a museum, dedicated to him. He looks rested and refreshed, as if he never wrestled at Access Denied. There are a series of glass cases behind him, mounted to the wall.

Mr. Vain: Welcome to Mr. Vain’s home. Consider yourselves lucky for this peak at the life of greatness.

The camera pans through the room showing moments of triumph from throughout Vain’s career.

Mr. Vain: However, before getting to this evenings business there is a dismissal to be performed.

Vain stops walking.

Mr. Vain: Rookie. A roll up? Really? For a man who was supposedly angry at being ‘attacked’ from behind, a man who was spouting more shit than a nervous 5th grader, a man who was beaten from one end of the ring to another, you really proved yourself to be… nothing. All that build for a cheap roll-up. *SIGH*. Enjoy your meaningless check in the win column, Rook. Just remember what EVERYONE else will remember about that match, remember who the last MAN standing was.

Vain pauses, allowing a moment of silence to cleanse the viewers pallet.

Mr. Vain: Tonight, lemmings, tonight you will be introduced to the history of the greatness that is Vain. Y’see, too many people in this second-hand league seem to have forgotten who Mr. Vain is, and what Mr. Vain has done. So, it’s time for a lesson.

The camera follows Vain as he walks over to a case that contains the RTW Atlantic Championship belt. Below the belt are two pictures, commemorating the two times when Vain won the belt.

Mr. Vain: The RTW Atlantic Championship was the greatest of the RTW belts, it may not have been a ‘World Title’ but it was the title that most represented pure wrestling ability, free of politics. Three of Mr. Vain’s first four matches were for that belt, on the third try Mr. Vain claimed it. That belt was around Mr. Vain’s belt for well over a year. When Mr. Vain lost the belt he shocked the wrestling community by not only reclaiming it in the rematch but retiring not one, but two wrestlers. Mr. Vain eventually left the title behind when he moved up to…

Vain walks in front of the second case that displays the Slaughterhouse World Title.

Mr. Vain: The Slaughterhouse. Ah, the Slaughterhouse. Metal, you like to make a lot of your lone victory against Mr. Vain, and Mr. Vain will admit that it was one of the lowest points in his life, but it was also one of the better things to happen. Y’see, after that loss Mr. Vain turned his entire career around, first by stepping up and single handedly fighting off the PWF invasion of the Slaughterhouse, and then by claiming and holding the Slaughterhouse World Title for over six months.

Mr. Vain lifts his chin and closes his eyes, relishing that feeling all over again.

Mr. Vain: What did you do Metal? Oh wait that’s right, Mr. Vain doesn’t remember, the audience doesn’t remember, hell, the record books don’t remember. You did nothing of consequence. The most memorable thing you did in the Slaughterhouse was be Bishop’s victim. Quite the legacy there, chief.

The sun glasses are tossed aside as Vain looks directly into the camera, all trace of humor gone, his face dead serious.

Mr. Vain: Metal, you like to bandy the word ass-kisser around when talking about The Vain One. You like to try to belittle the accomplishments of others to hide the lack of your own. Who’s ass was Mr. Vain kissing when he took the title from the hands of management’s golden boy Trevor Morriss? Who’s ass was Mr. Vain kissing when he defeated fan favorite Thunder again and again? Who’s ass was Mr. Vain kissing when he beat Nightshade? NO ONES! That’s right you whiny bastard, Vain took what he wanted for himself, by himself. No cheering fans, no scheming management, no playstation buddies, NO ONE! Mr. Vain defied the entire Slaughterhouse so well and for so long that they had to recreate HELL in an attempt to take the title from him!

Vain walks to the other case, almost reluctantly, as if he’s visiting a place full of bad memories.

In the case is a that says:

“I ain’t afraid to die,”
“Cause I’ve already been to Hell!”

“ALL-CREATION”
“2”

Below the lettering is a picture of the enormous, torturous structure.

Below the poster are two pictures, the first is of Mr. Vain, holding the World Title, mere moments from crossing the finish line, with an ambulance hurtling through the air at him, Gambits mangled and maniacal face behind the wheel. The second is in the wreckage of the finish with Mr. Vain Facelifting Gambit through the windshield of the ambulance.

Mr. Vain: This man made hell was built in a final attempt at taking the World Title from Mr. Vain. You blame Hawaiian Bryan for what happened to you but it was you who decided to be in that match, it was you who was blinded by your lust for gold and revenge. If you want to blame someone blame Mr. Vain, after all, if The Vain Event wasn’t so dominating then this match would never have happened and you would have lost another match against Bishop, instead of being crippled.

Vain casually tosses out the word crippled, as if saying ‘what did you expect would happen to you’?

Vain: So there you all go, a history of the wonder that is Vain. Remember this, the next time you think to step into the ring with greatness. And Metal, you attacks against Bryan stop, now. Mr. Vain doesn’t give a crap about him, per se, it’s just that Vain needs him to win the tag titles before Vain can continue on with his path to solo glory. So if you want to get at Bryan it will have to be in a tag match. If you can’t handle that, Metal, stay home and cry to your wife some more.
