Sailor Soldier Super and Eternal Forms; Keep Unique Accessories?

In the manga, when upgrading to their super forms, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus lost their accessories that made them unique.

Just to make it clear, the accessories are:

Mercury - No shoulder pads, transparent blue sleeves, and a gold chain that hangs down from the center of her bow.

Mars - Pendant on the center of her waist.

Jupiter - Potpourri belt.

Venus - Chain around her waist (doubles as her weapon)

So the question is do you think they should keep them or lose them? I personally like them being more unique, but one could argue that Naoko intended them to look more uniform in their final forms. It also begs a question, like with Mercury, obviously for the super form she would need the pointy shoulder pads as they are unique to that form, would she keep the sleeves underneath, or should she lose the sleeves and just keep the bow chain.

I am also open to other ideas on what to do with their uniforms in those forms.

What do you guys think?

Well in my humble opinion we should all debate about this after premiere of first arc , after all it will be some time before their super forms apear .

I think Mercury should have no blue sleeves and shoulder pads instead but keep the gold chain. Apart from that I think they should keep it unique.
Until Eternal forms...

Oh. And I meant to put lose them for eternal instead of voting for keep them...

i like the idea of them keeping their unique stuff, except for the mercury sleeves since they just wouldn't work iwth the eternal outfit, but the pendant can stay, and then have them lose them for their eternal forms.

The main reason I used for the other three, is logic, since all of their accersories are their attack weapons. Sure they can probably summon them still in some fashion, but it would be nice if they were visible for a while.

Tristan, semi-unimportant for the time discussion is better than no discussion at all. XD While I'm working on the future update/waiting for the site to be finished/finishing the revamp of Episode 44, I figure I might as well start discussions that will be relevant in the future since I have nothing I need to ask about pertaining to the first story arc at the moment.

I also think the best course of action would be to keep them for the super forms and then lose them for the eternal forms.

You might be right however how much time will pass before you will begin making super forms? One year ? two? This is a massive amount of time so we will all forget about it and most certainly we will have this disscusion again, so at least for a time it is just cassual, time-filling small talk , which is nothing bad by the way , but I have to admit that since (as you said) everything is clear for a time about first arc we should just wait for premiere day/progress report (whichever comes first:-) ) and as to the clothing since this kind of details ussually skip my perception totally (I didn't even saw the difference between the forms when I was watching sm) I am as always taking neutral stance

You make an understandable point, however thinking ahead is critical in a game series. Naoko herself was not able to really think ahead and there are some plot holes and inconsistencies because of it.

In the second story arc, the future Sailor Soldiers will be seen briefly. In previous discussion it was decided that fans want to see them in their eternal forms, and this topic is determining what they will look like in those forms.

It may not be of immediate importance but it's closer than you think.

Ahh.. you are waking my hope again UsagiLaugh but still no date? not even close one like " about 5 months" or "it should be in half a year" , common , you surely have some "to do list" in which you write all things , spill the beans! If you do it in less then half year my first child will be called Jonathan(if it will be a boy!)

I also think they should keep them and then lose them for eternal forms, and I also agree with those that said that Mercury should lose her sleeves beforehand and just keep the chain.

Personally, with the exception of Mercury's sleeves, I think they should keep their unique items through their Eternal form. I'm just a fan of them all being unique and having that show.

That being said I'm not particularly against them losing them when they reach their Eternal forms, as many people have already voted for. Having them be more uniform once they reach that level of power does make some sense. Add in the fact that at that point the items used for attacks probably aren't needed anymore and there really isn't a problem.

At first I was confused when some of these accessories were mentioned--namely Mercury's, because while I distinctly remember Mars' and Venus' especially, and looked at the manga to see Jupiter's potpourri ball, Mercury's final manga version (that is to say, the version of Sailor Mercury in the first arc of the manga that got published) does not have sleeves or that dangling gold thing. That, along with the white-and-red stripes on Sailor V and Sailor V's gold bow are all part of Naoko's initial designs for the Senshi that never made it into the actual manga.

Mercury doesn't have the shoulder pad things like the others do, though, so I suppose that's unique?

I'm down for unique anything up until they power-up, since they become more cohesive as a team when they're all in the same/similar "uniforms."

Most here agree that we want to see some particular aspects of Naoko's unused designs/ideas in the game, since they were never brought to fruition elsewhere. Mainly because some of those aspects being unused was out of her hands. The Materials Collection has been a resource for a lot of those aspects.

And Naoko herself could be a bit inconsistent at times. XD Thus why some characters have different hair colors in different pictures. (Namely minor characters)

I think they should lose them.

An example? Mars' jewel allow Mars to use fire power, I don't think it will be needed anymore when she reach her super form, she can use her fire power without it.

Losing these items is a sign of their upgrade. ArtemisSit
