I think what they'll probably be doing is introducing the characters with the Japanese names, so you get to know what japanese name goes with what character and knowing them beforehand won't matter as much.

They might have something in the stats for the character that says their American name, though, I'm not sure, but I don't think they're doing anything where you can switch between American or Japanese names.

It'd be cool if they could but it's good for people (such as myself and apparently yourself xD) to learn the original names. People tend to respect you more as a Sailor Moon fan even if you've only seen the dub, when you can say their original names. Lots of people get snarky about the dub names D=

I think there was talks about some sort of feature, a Quiz game I think, tha would sho the various names of the characters across the different adaptations, but yeah, everyone's keeping their Japanese names. but like ghost whisperer said, the game begins from the start, so you won't be lost on who's who.

The Internet feature of the menu has a database of characters, locations, terms, etc. which will display an English version name if available if you'd like to look at a character, etc. and see the English name comparison.

As ArtemisX said, playing the game from the beginning will catch you up on all the original names if you're unsure. PSSM: Another Story was my first real experience with the original names and I was quite confused for a bit because no one was really introduced. But the way the game will play out will keep you in the loop on who's who. ^^
