I know its a bit off but I'm curious. The manga explicitly states that the Black Moon clan members are originally from Earth, but it still seems to be a general consensus to believe that they were born and raised on Nemesis. (I had a bit of a debate on the Sailor Moon Wiki about this) Without directly quoting it, I do remember Demand calling Earth "my planet earth" and talking about how Wiseman came to them and convinced them to go to Nemesis. Now I might be wrong, but to me it seemed extremely obvious that Demand and the others originally lived in Crystal Tokyo and then were convinced by Wiseman to go to Nemesis. I'd like to know what everyone else thinks. Now, in the anime they were born on Nemesis for sure. |

I was under the impression that they were originally from Crystal Tokyo, I guess I forgot about the anime... I haven't watched the second arc of R in a while.

Yes, Chains, both in the manga and the anime, the Black Moon family originally lived in Earth during the Crystal Tokyo era but left to Nemesis at some point. BUT: In the manga, King Endymion specifically refers to the members we all know, since a picture of them is shown while he's addressing that subject ("a bellicose clan in our society", thus, they lived in Earth). They were a group of dangerous rebels who caused wars and chaos, like Death Phantom himself previously did. In a certain moment (maybe after being defeated?), Wiseman appeared and convinced them to go to Nemesis for the Dark Crystal power, probably with the "Replay Operation" idea already in mind. In the anime, the Black Moon family were the ones who didn't want to be purified with the Silver Crystal after the Earth unfroze and Usagi ascended as Neo Queen Serenity. They just fled to Nemesis. We don't really know if such clan members were the ones the Soldiers are now fighting or their elders, but i'ts likely they were the latter, since Demand and Sapphire hadn't seen any flowers and were kids when thinking of those times. Did I say any nonsense...? Edited by Hermes, Jul 14 2009, 06:25 PM.

Isn't his name Diamond? (Demand/Demando just being a poor translation of it) I would assume it is given the pattern of naming the villains for jewels. |

I'm pretty sure in the anime the Black Moon clan never lived on Earth because of the whole flower thing, that's what I was thinking of. In the manga, didn't King Endymion say they were the descendants of criminals? I can imagine they were probably severely mistreated by society because of their heritage. I remember reading something about the Japanese word for diamonds being demand or something because of their... high demand? XD Maybe I'm way off. The french word for diamond would make more sense following in the normal pattern. Or is demand the french word? I forget. >.> Demando is pretty inaccurate for English, though. Hermes is right. The anime did state that they were orignally from earth but refused to be purified. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mDMMNGOLJI of course this doesn't state them as human, since they are called evil beings, but it implies they were changed by the stay in Nemesis meaning they weren't from there. |

Huh, go figure. I had quite a fight with someone on the Sailor Moon Wiki who was all "Unless Diamante directly says "We were born on Earth" it's just speculation." ...Shows how much THEY know, and what's with the "Diamante" spelling? >.> |

Lol, well if they spelled the name wrong, that gives you less of a reason to believe them.

People at Wiki are a bunch of babies who generally do not let things go or listen to anyone else's perspective. I had it with them during their debating Marvel stuff. They are mostly stubborn. And I'm not sure about the spelling. it's Diamon in spanish so they thought it sounded better than Demando? |

hmmm for some strange reason *you may all find this CRAZY* I always thought that they were descendants of criminals and were sent to nemesis by one of the QS's. and that the black moons on their foreheads represented their banishment from the white moon... or something like that xD... Lol shows what I know about this particular arc! ^^;;; I always just thought the death phantom was just one of the original baddies QS banished... lol I also thought that he was an incarnation of chaos Shows what I thought I knew

He means Neo Queen Serenity. XD It is true that Wiseman/Death Phantom is an incantation of Chaos and was banished to Nemesis. Nemesis was used as a prison for the most dangerous criminals. Death Phantom died there and merged with the planet. |

I find it quite ironic that the only reason Queeen Serenity banished Wiseman to Nemesis is because she doesn't believe in execution. But then we all know what happens after that, don't we? |
