I'm sure some of you guys agree. The manga is just...cleaner, more elegant...I really like it a lot more than the anime. Especially certain things, like Sailor Uranus. She just looks so much prettier in the manga than in the anime, as do all the characters. As Naoko-sensei says, she designed the manga about girls, for girls' enjoyment, whereas the anime was created by men. VenusPose

Hands down. The anime is a disgrace compared to the manga. They just changed too much and lost a lot of the epicness in the process. And they didn't elaborate on things that they should have, like the Shitennou being Endymion's guardians in the past, and how Beryl loved Endymion and caused everything. And that's just the first season. LOL

The one thing I did like about the anime was what they did with Nehellenia. I liked that she got a backstory. But its one thing that further puzzles me when I think about how a lot of backstories got eliminated. >.>

Well, I guess the anime crew were just trying to be creative... Maybe they didn't like making something that was the same exact plot to the already stylistically better manga...

But manga > anime hands down... If only they just kept more to at least the personalities of the senshi... thankfully the way they treat/make dramas these days (well, in the past as well) is a lot more character-oriented and generally better for a story like this... which is why PGSM worked so well UsagiLaugh

Having a team of all men probably didn't help. XD The emotional scenes were somewhat lacking. Not to say that my emotional scenes won't be good, but you know. XD As a group, guys try to be all macho and unemotional. >.>

Though episode 125's "Crisis, makeup!" crying scene with Usagi was a very nice scene. The way Usagi starts crying and screaming is very well performed.

Actually, I think it had some good emotional scenes... Even though I'm a girl I doubt I could've done any better... I think it was just the extra boy-crazy girliness added to the girls... I know they're teens, but really... You can have teens that aren't so... annoying... I guess all the girls just felt extra bratty, is all.... Particularly poor MarsAttack ...she went from hating guys to drooling over them and fighting her own friends over them.... honestly.

I guess I'm not much of a fan of the 'we yell and scream at each other, therefore we are friends' thing when it comes to these characters.... I liked the grace of the manga.

The all-guy team changed the art and feel of the show... I mean, they went by Naoko's original design quite a bit, but naturally that manga style had to change when moved to the screen... The feel of the show because of the shift of the teen girls' dealing with the soldier thing made so much more... bratty and shallow, I guess... I suppose it was more how a bunch of guys would view early-teen girls rather than how those girls actually are...

Manga is better hands down. I liked the anime, but the manga was, as stated earlier, so much more graceful and just...better.

Yeah, the manga is way better. But the anime is great for a laugh. If the manga's got you all bummed out from everyone dying all the time, then just watch the anime! Hilarity.

Although I was very impressed with one sequence during the anime. There's an episode in StarS, during the very beginning of it, when the inners are all simultaneously dialing phones in an attempt to get tickets to see the Starlights. I'm sure someone knows what I'm talking about.

Not that Stupid Flying Horse
Manga is better. I love the MoTD for the Anime, and the transformation scenes.

The Manga is better in that it makes more sense than the anime. The holy grail is suppose to be stronger than the stupid flying horse. That is one thing that always bothered me. Another thing is making Saturn look more powerful than Super Sailor Moon. In the Manga, Saturn destroyed the world but Super Sailor Moon restored it. That was an important detail.

agreed with darkury. not to mention the whole serenity/cosmos/sacrificing of the sailor crystal saga and what happens next. in the anime it is entertaining and i think much of the humour was cleverly written i don't like the girls' heavy reliance on the male (or more masculine) characters.

but that aside, reading the manga (no matter how shoddily translated) there were moments when i was like wow! and it actually left me thinking about it. like the scene in the first arc where usagi gets the crystal and heals everyone in tokyo and then faints and mamoru carries her back to his apartment and she was up and finds out his real identity. it was like... awwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhh!!!

OMG! I was totally in love with that scene when I first got my flipped-n'-americanised store-bought manga... so romantic/mysterious/thrilling...

Oh, I love that scene! I feel like Eternal Sailor Moon looks much prettier in the manga, too. I don't love her anime color scheme, but Naoko has a way with colors...and art. xD
