I took what Overcoat said into account and tried something new. Would everyone like something like this better:![]() (Again, the font is NOT final.) |

I didn't really see an issue with the other as far as space went so losing the portraits seems rather odd, though I get that way you know which one's active like this, keeping the buttons above the portrait will have the same effect without having to remove the others. But is just that to me, without the other is seems kinda bland, especially since you start with one and then two and three to five senshi's so I don't see what the big deal was with having them there. That aside, I like the option icons better above each stat panel. Cause you can see the sprites, and also when they get attack or attack the icons aren't in the way while you decide. So that movement is a plus. And i'm not going to complain about the font, since everyone did completely forgetting you said that was not going to be the final one. Again, good jod there.

I like having all the portraits show as well, I don't see where the space is much of an issue. If having the icons above the status portrait isn't enough indication, then maybe if all of the portraits were shown, if I had their eyes closed until they were active and they opened, or maybe did something else. (Also, I'm planning on having each party member's box match their main color, and their symbol will be behind the text faded out. For example, Usagi's box would be pink and a crescent moon would be behind the text.) |

Now see those are great ideas, and it'll look colorful, which is how a Sailor Moon game should look like. Which is why the portraits, to me seem important, especially if you'll change them with each status change (injured, ill, powered up? etc) And I was going to suggest that you just leave the others grey if they weren't active, but closing the eyes might make it look better and you don't lose color. Though again, you see icon's above it, I don't see how you don't know who's active. Just so no one feels offended, the reason I think it looks better with the portraits is that most RPG Maker games have such a boring battle system and for the most part you just have to wait for the sprites to move. It can get tedious pretty fast, and I think what you're trying to do here is keep it as fun and with much movement as possible. Plus, as a gamer, the more a battle screen has, the more I feel like something's happening on my screen. And so far, I see plenty of room left for people who don't like their screen filled. So I don't see what's wrong. |

Well, if you could shrink the status box (shown pretty much as a large black bar in the mock-up), I think it'd be a lot more aesthetically pleasing. Also, I think having the girls' eyes close and open as they're ready to take their turn is a really good idea. |

I LOVE it! My only issue is the active time battles. Would it be possible to choose between having it on or off? |

Allowing the player to choose between "Active" (Enemies attack while you pick commands) and "Wait" (Enemies don't attack while you pick commands) should be possible. I'll ask the coder about it. I'll prepare to shrink it and whatnot now. So it'll be eyes open when active, eyes closed when not active. Their face will be faded out with black when they're dead. When they have a status ailment they'll change too. Like their skin will be green if they're poisoned, eyes will be swirling if they're confused, etc. |

Though that option should be "easy" or "hard" mode. Cause I think it would be a bit unfair if you got the same treatment for both. |

I think the portraits are wonderful, and the idea is great
^_^ One input I'd have to add though, when more then one is active, although having their eyes open, it might not become noticable enough later on in the game when your used to it. Maybe have like a little symbol or item appear above the portrait so its a little bit on the battlefeild would also grab attention. Plus when you switch between active characters, the little symbols could sort of move up as the battle options appeared. Dunno, just a rondom though XD

Overall very awesome.. Question will the close up "flinch" when a character is attacked?? I agree the font is boring BUT its appropriate, mainly b/c you want all that info to be very easy to read.

That's not the final font, but the final won't be hard to read. I was thinking of having their face flinch when they're attacked, I could possibly have it flash, too. |

Wow! Finally!!! I'm so excited! I like the first picture of the battle screen but I also have to quote OverCoat on what he said, the second picture look way better :) more room for the battlefield is a great idea, also I love the command icons over the char's portraits.
Excellent idea!!!!
Agreed. Can't wait for the next mock-up Overall.....excellent!
