Actually I think Sailor Moon music in the anime was too soft, especially since sailor moon is a good manga/anime/live action in the matter that it gives a lot of focus to the enemys perspective, daily life and struggle for world domination... There are alot of places where I wished the music could have been more variated and give a more "evil" dramatic sensation.... And also, I think some upbeat pop music would do a lot to, for example, the girls everyday tokyo life. There are a lot of places in the plot where there is room for all sorts of music, and I totally approve of that. I liked the clips, but as Squirrel said, they were not for everyones tastes. I actually think they were pretty standard in the area of gaming music. Good, but still. And why is everyone constantly jumping on Squirrel? I know that when he disappeaered for a while people said stuff like they didn't want to write/hang out at the forum because Squirrel was a nasty person who insulted everything and everyone, but to go from Squirrels "I didn't like the music, sorry" to long "Squirrel you are the worst person around and we understand that this project dies because you are here and make everybaody down" What is that!?? I'm sorry but in this thread I felt more like it was those jumping on Squirrel that made me wanna shut the computer and not return for some days, than the fact that Squirrel would like som more rock feeling in the soundtrack. Honestly. What's up with everyone? |

Seems like it's that time of the year again. *shrugs* And I agree, people shouldn't make such a deal out of every negative thing someone says. We're all here to talk about the game, not to turn it into such a big flame war or something. I don't know about you guys, but I don't like flame wars. At all. Okay, now to get on topic again! *throws away off topic sign* I like the music myself! But for those who don't like it, I'm sure that there will be all kinds of music in the game. ^_^ And if there isn't, you can just.. um.. turn off the sound or something. (I know I'm bad at giving suggestions ^^; ) |

Well, I actually expected Squirrel to be positive since he is a game music buff, but in hindsight, this result was more likely. Given Squirrel's great passion for Video Game music, I'm sure he has high standards. Even if the things were from the rock genre, I suspect a similar result. Well, it's a hypothesis of course. He is entitled to the opinion even if it is negative and unconstructive. My thoughts of the first track was that it was good for setting the mood in something like a labyrinth or cave(as the name suggests). My only gripe with it was that I thought it could use just a bit more of a climax in the music somewhere. It was a clip though, so I'll reserve final judgement on that in case it already has one. Other than that, I found it very appropriate for game material and it sounded quite good. The second and seemingly the running favorite, is, I think, very well done in creating a kind of hallowed atmosphere. Also, while good as is, It could also be good with a chorus and every time I play it, I'm always expecting one to spring up. Very good stuff. How could I not like Toledo? My personal favorite of the bunch. It is very simple, but is sad and sweet(as was mentioned before). Whoever composed it took full advantage of the acoustic guitar's qualities to set a very palpable yet elusive mood. Or it could also be that I have a soft spot for guitars. Either way, this was very good as well. Tell your team to keep up the good work. They've already proven themselves as competent and I'm looking forward to their future work. And of course, you keep up what you're doing, too Chain. Good luck. |

Because Squirrel didnt just say: "I feel we should have more rock music." He said "I hate your music choice. It was dumb. Where's the rock?" He didnt offer understanding of it being three clips out of a million, he didnt offer criticisms, he just sh!t on the whole thing. That's why he gets jumped on. He makes no effort to be useful. I admire you're standing up for him, but you have to see where we all come from as well, yes? |

whoa. uhhhm. He did't say that. Did he? As I read it he just said he didn't like it. I'm sorry I don't know what to say. You're anger is genuine. Maeby you have more experience of earlier Squirrel stuff that was worse. So.. it's that bad is it? I think he holds his negativity on an acceptable level. I still think he likes this game, why else would he be here? I mean, I don't think he's here just to piss people off, even if he gives some negative critsism I think he never do that to be mean. He just says what he thinks... We are all here because we love sailor moon to death, and sometimes you just get hanged up on details because you have a personal image of what you think things are supposed to be like. perhaps Squirrels personality is negative and angry to the core, despite being a hardcore moonie? in that case... uuuuuhhh....what am I going to say.... uuuh Sorry. I guess if it makes you feel better to be angry at him, that's totally okay. I don't want to persude someone to like someone someone doesn't like. or something. ahhhh this is so tiresome. I'm sorry! to all of the world I'm sorry! I just couldn't manage not knowing what to write about this matter anymore. |

Don't worry, Eleo. While I myself don't believe that squirrel was trying to go as far as all that, I understand how you feel. I myself did think it was untactful to say what he said. In his position, I would have gone with: "I'm not a fan of classical music, so I won't really be able to judge if this is any good or not." or something along those lines. And besides, no one has to like Squirrel. I do think it's healthier to ignore him if you feel that strongly(And I wouldn't blame you. I've read previous posts of his.) I myself can't say I like the guy, but I don't dislike him. But then, I'm used to having to defend every statement I make. |

Say whatever you want about me after this post, cuz I'm not going back on these words nor will I appoligze to you or anyone that is always trying to find a way to get me ran out of here. THE MUSIC IS NOT FOR EVERYONE...WHAT PART OF THAT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND.... PSYCHONUT?? Take that communist-like view of life out of here. It's not needed. If you can't handle blunt comments, don't bother coming in here or responding to anything I say...ok?? |

oh jeeze... I think a lot of people are confusing what some people suggested that Squirrel said with what he actually said... all he said was that it didn't apeal to him... a simple statement that could be taken in multiple tones and becuase it's typed... only squirrel knows how it was meant to come across... so I'm sure several people had the idea that he was pretty much saying "you suck" when, hopefully... that wasn't the case... however... Squirrel's response to XPOB was completely unneccesary... and it's THAT attitude that is causing everyone to become sick of him... IMHO anyways... ugh... idk... maybe everyone should just leave everyone alone... but of course... when's that ganna happen?

I do admit that I may have read what Squirrel said wrong, but with his past history in mind, I had to take it how it appeared to me. And so I said something about his constant negative views with nothing to help the situation. He is being consistently negative and does not offer up any solutions of feedback besides his "Grr Arg" comments. As to Squirrel, you're comment was totally unnecessary and I would think that someone who is "so smart" would know that I was paraphrasing. I never said "I am quoting squirrel when he said it was dumb and stupid and rar". So take your gun-jumping elsewhere. As for your anger, I have read your LJ to know where it comes from, but the name calling was not necessary. I do believe I will start doing what MageHammer suggested and just start ignoring him as best as I can. I'm sorry that this started such a flame and I apologize for things getting out of control. From now on, anything I have to say to Squirrel about his posts I will do in messages to him and not on the boards.

![]() Seriously guys, chill out. ...Okay, anyways, here are my thoughts. Endless Labyrinth sounds great- I love the style it's been composed in and it seems like perfect dungeon music. Silent Serenity, while peaceful, just sounds too much like a generic singing chorus and I can't really get into it (also, to me it sounds a lot like noise and isn't too great on the ears). Toledo is good, but the intense strumming of the guitar strings doesn't really fit into the rest of the song. Overall, Endless Labyrinth has to be my favorite. |

My favourite has to be Silent Serenity, it's nice and quite and it has the feel of tragedy and remorse in it...that sounded a little Deathloving XD what I mean is that the song flows well and could fit many situations (e.g. Princess Serenity dying, or when the Scouts discover Neo Serenity in Quartz). |

Uhm, wow.. okay, I'm going to reply to the topic here o_o; *dodges* My quick reviews~ "Endless Labyrinth" ~ very nice! It gives me the sense that danger is approaching or something is needed urgently. "Silent Serenity" ~ my fave of the three. It definitely makes me think of the Silver Millennium and of the brave warriors who defend it - their hopes, dreams, and wishes. "Toledo" ~ a relaxing piece and for some reason, I think of Mercury. o_o Heya, thanks for the email! I had forgotten about this place, sadly ^^; I'm very happy to see this project still alive and kicking!! |

thx for the good feedback guys also: I didn't know there were 2 other composers? warau Toledo is pretty cool even though the guitar sounds sampled. Makes me think of Tuxedo Mask. I wasn't expecting Chains to like the electronic music, so I wasn't expecting Trance Authority's tune, so now I know I can techno it up a little bit [I've been doing orchestral so far]. Thanks for the update Chains, also let me know which songs you want me to do next. |
