Well, the chink in the armor of that argument is that while people as a whole cannot be normal by definition, certain aspects of them can(i.e. normal fashion sense based on what is popularly accepted) but, anyway, don't feel down.

Normal fashion sense based on what is popularly accepted??

I don't like most of the so-called fashions that are currently populary accepted, nor do I go out of my way to pretend to be popular just by wearing them.

Does that make me not normal?

fashion sense and sense for beauty in clothes are different things.
Fashion sense can be that you're a know-it-all about what's right and wrong in everyday fashion at the moment... the "sense" is more knowledge than something you actually think and feel.
On the other hand, some clothng designs can, depending on who wears them, always look beautiful no matter the timeperiod and popularity. if you are a person able to see those things and appreciate beauty from that classical point of view, well...

and yeah, popular fashion these day tend to be boring, boring, boring.

To squirrel: By definition(that is, following semantics and all that) you have weird fashion sense(the word weird meaning "not normal"). The reason being that if you deviate from the majority, you are by definition weird. If you read my earlier post, you see that everyone is weird because we are all different(there can be no normal if there is no majority) but certain aspects of people(we are using fashion sense as an example) can be defined as normal.(because a majority follows a trend)

None of that is meant to be offensive, just logically proving a point. If you must know, I'm weird in a lot of ways myself And being weird isn't necessarily bad, it's just not what most people are.

And for Eleo: He is actually an Agricultural Engineer by education. By current profesion, he is a Health inspector for NYC department of health and basically his job consists of testing the city's water. he's also an amateur mechanic(loves old cars)

By definition, in terms of "normal", we base normal off of what is socially acceptable by the majority of the world. For example, mental disorders. The majority of the United States does not have a mental disorder or defect which would make them the "Norm" and allots them the ability to standardize what normal is. You were your pants with the button and fly in the front, and your hat on your head. Anything that deviates from that is then not the norm.

As such, any person with a mental defect is not normal. Take for example that 30 or so years ago the DSM III (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) listed Homosexuality among their disorders. Now, in 2007, they no longer list it among their ranks because society has come to declare that homosexuality is somewhat normal.

Long story short: Society dictates what is normal and what is not. If you deviate from what society sets up, you are indeed not normal in the sense that you have deviated in. Thankfully, clothing is only an important deviation if you're still in High School.... or college. UsagiLaugh
