Well one of the purposes of my cassete tape videogame music projects being listened to by other people....was that it had to be a suprise. A suprise of what videogame music was on the projects to see if they like it or not. Now that all my projects are in MP3 format and sound much better and much longer...I figure you wanted to know just what is on all these videogame music projects!?? I didn't make the music, but I did record the music selectivly from the actual games themselves!! I don't do this for money, just for the love of videogame music....since it's the main choice of music for me these days. If you have any comments and suggestions for the projects below, feel free to ask me. You can now download any of the projects at anytime on my megaupload account. More details will be posted in the very near future.

Side 1 and 2 was all Sonic music. Sonics 1 to Sonic and Knuckles from the genesis.

- Good Stuff Uncovered: October 1998; Remade in 2000. It was orignally a "behind the scenes" look at the good stuff series. It was suppose to be the "retirement" installment, but it was remade in 2000 with music and became the 5th installment. Remade and converted to CD/mp3 format in 2006.

- Gamingstuff 4: May 21 2004. The only project with music from an anime property and first with music from an emulator. It marked the return of sonic music, and was a HUGE breakout project. Remade and converted to CD/mp3 format in 2005.

Part 2: Spiderman VS Kingpin (Sega CD), Valis 3 (Turbo Graphix CD), and Phantasy Star Universe (Xbox 360)

Notes:

Good Stuff 1: The project that started EVERYTHING. This project was orignally not meant to be. The first time it was made...it started out with...well...some audio footage from talk shows. Then it moved into the videogame music. I don't know why it was ever there, but this was tooken out and replaced with the spiderman/xmen and strider music in the reiussed edition in 2000. In the CD/MP3 version....at the very end...there is "Good Stuff 1 Extra", which has yours truly just describing how Good Stuff was made, why I was so darn random, and how Good Stuff paved the way for future installments and series.

Good Stuff 2: Was orignally with music from sonics 1, 2, and 3 in the cassete tape version. When remade was replaced with Megaman 1 music for NES and GB. There was also other items in the tape but was phased out in the remake becuase they seemed pointless. GG's version of Sonic 2 was in but it was only the 2nd ending when you get all the chaos emeralds.

Good Stuff 3: Orignally the SOR 1 music was very short. It also had maxuim carnage music and some Contra: Hard Corps music which extended to side B. Maxuim Carnage was extended and moved to Best of Good Stuff, while Contra: Hard Corps was moved and extened alot to Good Stuff Uncovered (the project prior to BOGS). GS3 had a "remake" of sorts last year but it was a disaster. So the orignal tape remains. In the CD version, Cool Spot's music was moved to side B from side a in the cassete tape version. SOE 1 and Revenge of Shinobi was greatly extended. As was SOE 2 on side B.

Good Stuff 4: First it was a 60 mintue cassete, then it was remade as a 90 minute tape. It was remade twice just to make the music sound better and louder. The CD version has extended music from the sonic games.

Good Stuff Uncovered: This 5th project was orignally a behind the scenes of the good stuff series. It had some moments and such but it proved to be worthless. This was explained at the beginning of GSU. So, it was remade as a 5th installment in videogame music for the series. The CD version has extended and a few additional tracks that didn't make it in the cassete tape version.

Best of Good Stuff: It was created in 1998...but it got stolen at school. It was remade and has remained untouched to this day. The CD version has 2 extra tracks from Sonic 3D Blast, 1 from Spinball, one from PR the movie, and one from TMNT. At the end of side 1 in the cassete tape version after I said "...cuz i'm good!"...there was breif music from Megaman X2. Megaman X2 was later put to great use for Gamingstuff 4.

Good Stuff Xtreme: The last of the good stuff series went out with a bang in the remake to mp3/CD format. As expected, lots more music was added to this one. In an interesting move, the music of TMNT 4 and PR the movie was switched. It made sense becuase PR the movie had more interesting music and therefore was the last segment in GSX. Now as for myself ending it at the very end....remember, it was 1999. Just use that to give you an idea of what I was saying when I was younger.

Dreamstuff: This was the first project to break away from the old school videogame music...and into the more modern videogame music as we know it today. This series was orignally named "Ultra Stuff", but it was changed to Dreamstuff...thank goodness! The update to MP3/CD form was a HUGE breath of fresh air. And some new music was added to this in the form of street fighter alpha 3. This was the first of only 2 installments in this series. You'll find out why later in Dreamstuff's sequel, Dreamstuff 2.

Dreamstuff 2: The 2nd, and final installment in this series. Basicly it was an extension of what the first dreamstuff was. The cassete tape version was dubbed "the first 2 hour project ever!". But since being updated in it's mp3/CD form...that no longer matters. Music from Jet Set Radio was taken out completely....and replaced with alot more various dreamcast game music from demo games. Don't ask me why I took out Jet Set Radio...it's something I'd rather not answer.

Gamingstuff: This groundbreaking project series begins exactly that....groundbreaking. This is the current and only project series to date. This first installment brought in music from all kinds of areas...like the PC and Sega Saturn. It was also the first project to finally have something all my projects never had....music from a super mario game. Not just that, but this is the only project to have music from a First Person Shooter, and the first to have music from a RPG. The groundbreaking would contuine in later installments of Gamingstuff to come. The name "Gamingstuff" was inspired from the "GamingNoise" videogame audio shows on the internet. As for the music in this project...more were added in the MP3/CD version. Some of the music from Sonic Adventure 2 was taken from Dreamstuff 2. One track from PSO episode 1 is the longest ever of any of my projects.

Gamingstuff 2: The cassete tape version suffers from a lack of loudness. While you can hear it...you can't turn it up any louder. This was corrected in the CD version. In the SSBM segment, there was the pokemon theme in the cassete tape version, it has been replaced by pokemon battle music in the CD version. It also has an extra track in that segment, and a few in Megaman 4. In MMX4, the cassete tape version had snow base 1 and 2 in different parts of the side...in the CD version they go back to back. Extra tracks were added to the CD version, and Sigma battle 2's track was replaced with the track from fighting Double as the final track of GaS2. There was also some aduio footage from the movie "robocop"....but was phased out becuase it had nothing to do with the music in the CD version.

Gamingstuff 3: Orignally the project was nothing but music from Megaman X5 and X6. In 2006, it was reiussed with Rocket Knight Adventures starting things off. The X5 and X6 music took over the rest of the project. There was audio footage from the movie "fight club" in the cassete tape version, but was cut out of the CD version.

Gamingstuff 4: This was orignally planned to be the first CD project...but was changed into the final cassete tape project at the last minute. Extra tracks were added in the CD segments of TMNT, PSO ver 2, and Sonic Heroes even though that played at the very end of GaS4 the cassete but never finished. A megaman V track was cut out of the CD version and was put in the CD version of Good Stuff Xtreme. Sonic Heroes' music in the cassete tape came from the Xbox version. In the cassete tape version, Sailor Moon's music sounded somewhat different soundwise and sounds alot better in the CD version. At the end of that segment you hear a voice go "Sailor Moon!!". A track was also cut out of the CD version to make room.

Gamingstuff V: This is the first of many direct to CD and mp3 projects to come. I decided to go with roman numerals from here on. Most of the music in this project had to be reedited (especally soul cailbur 2's) just to sound good. A few Fzero GX tracks had to be cut out becuase it made Disc 2 go over the 80 minute mark on the CD.

Gamingstuff VI: Perhaps the easiest project to produce. It only took 2 days to complete it too! The 15th project contuined what the first GaS has done.....do firsts. This is the first project to...

- Have music from a Nintendo 64 and Playstation 2 games respectivly.

- Have two musics from fighting games.....based on nintendo and sega characters!!

- Music from an arcade game.

In an interesting twist.....orignally the NES Batman music was suppose to repersent Gamingstuff VI. But in a last minute decison after discovering much better music from the Genesis version of Batman, it was decided that would be used. Gamingstuff VI is the 2nd of many direct to CD/Mp3 projects to come in the future.

Gamingstuff 7: This is the 7th installment of the Gamingstuff series, and also the project that celebrates 10 years of videogame music projects. This project returns to numbers and even the prevouus project was changed from VI to 6, making V the only project with a roman numeral. Orignally there were supposed to be music from 1 of the 2 recent released Sonic videogames. In their place was music from two NES games...Journey to Silius and Bionic Commando. Also Megaman X8, Spiderman VS Kingpin, Valis 3 and Phantasy Star Universe repersents part 2. This is the first project to no longer be on CDs, as it is now MP3 only. This means projects from here on will have NO limits on the amount of music is in it, and it can be downloaded to Ipods and any other mp3 player. And of course there were firsts here:

Music repersenting Turbo Graphix CD and Xbox 360.

Sorry for the bump but I must get this out. There will be no sonic music from ether Sonic 2K6 or Sonic and the Secret Rings. Let's just say the soundtracks dissapointed me and weren't "gamingstuff quality". Thanks to a good friend of mine, he recommended me music from two NES games for use in this upcoming project.

Check the updated FAQs to find out what those are. This could pretty much be the final list for Gamingstuff 7. As always, if you have ANY questions or comments (good or bad) about this or any videogame music project in this FAQs...don't be afraid to let me know.

Could you explain in more detail what you are trying to do Squirrel? Overcoat you don't need to come across so blunt all of the time. Also I don't think swearing will be tolerated on the board. Not for very long anyway.

As I said....I'm NOT MAKING MONEY off of this. I already said that I do this for the love of videogame music. What is it you wanna know? How I recorded the music....why I chose the music I chose?

What I'm trying to do, is simply let everyone know about these projects and what music is on them. If you wanna hear one of these...you can PM me and I can send it to you via instant messenging or email. I've been thinking about putting them on a server, so they'll be easier to download and listen to. So if you wanna do it like that....wait til next month and I'll get them all on a server.

I'm going with Megaupload, unless you have another suggestion.

I know that no one here has heard any of these yet...and I'm sorry if I didn't explain enough about them. I'm also asking if you have questions on what is in them....for example, if you wanna know why there is music from so-so game....you can ask me and I'll respond with an answer as soon as possible. I also welcome critism and even suggestions.

Agian overcoat, had you read at least the beginning...you'll get it that these are not mixtapes of videogame music anymore. Videogame music is all I basicly listen to now, so I thought I'd share my love of it with others....

Oh, okay!

I'm too blunt? Well... maaaaaaybe.

I also listen to a lot of vg music, though since I am a digital superbeing which has evolved beyond CDs I have a lot of stuff in emulated console formats, like .sid or .vgm, which take up way less space. Check out HVSC, Project2612, and SNES Music for C64, MegaDrive, and SNES music, respectively.

I'm also trying to make my own music in .sid format, and it's possible to create .spc files since very recently. Here's one!

I dunno what the problem is with "bad words," but it's Chains' board so I'll respect his rules.

Well look, I've only discovered how to make music CDs as recent as 2005. That's only 2 years ago.

However....if I ever get an ipod, I may go past CDs and just make the next projects all mp3s.

Oh, and I'm gonna start production on Gamingstuff 7 next week!!
