Ever since "Have a Nice Day" I've been a HUGE fan of Foley's writings. I read everything, even the novels. And then came "The Hardcore Diaries"

I know that Mick was going through a frustrating time in his career, but man, I STILL regret reading that book. It is literally the turd in the punch bowl. There was very little to enjoy about it at all.

So naturally, with a similar book coming out about the buildup to Lockdown 2009, I was weary of what we'd get this time around...

Relieved I am, though, as it's not anything at all like "Hardcore Diaries". Mick even acknowledges that "Diaries" was a downer, and he makes sure not to do it to us again. It's still not as good as "Have a Nice Day" or "Foley is Good" but what is?

If you liked either, though, I definitely suggest you check it out, it's certainly worth the read.

Out of all the autobiographies and wrestling books in general I read, I rank Have a nice day and Foley is Good at the very top. I never read "Hardcore Diaries", and out of all the reviews I saw on Amazon and various other sources around, I didn't get the impression I should get it. Now "Countdown to Lockdown", allright, and what you write there sounds pretty solid but ... it's not ALL based around that one show, is it? Would be cool if you wrote a bit more about the book and I may infact get it.

It's not totally based around Lockdown, but the buildup to that show is the main focus. It covers many other wrestling-related issues as well, such as his WWE announcing days, dealing with Vince, some Benoit stuff, steroids and such... It's not as much an "Auto biography" as a blog in book form. It's worth the time.
