Um, I don't think your list falls under "Best Ever".

No order, but I'd say along the lines of:

Ric Flair
Ricky Steamboat
Bret Hart
Shawn Michaels
Kurt Angle

I'll need to think about this a little more before I give an actual answer . . .

With a finishing move like "The Peoples Elbow" he has to be in the top 5. Then Scotty Too Hotty, cause he had the "worm"

Just joking... don't get bent :P

The only thing I say about the Rock is the short time he was in the ring. His in ring career was not as long as it could or should have been. He had a lot of skill and incredible mic skills, but he kinda bailed out and went all Hollywood on us.

PCW Superstar

This is imo impossible to judge unbiased. I mean, I got into watching teh rasslin' no sooner than ~ 1989, and there have been guys active back then who were already past their prime and I never got to see them wrestle IN their prime (Lawler for example). I have (sadly) also never gotten to see a lot from guys over in Japan, Shinja Hashimoto (RIP), Antonio Inoki, Hayabusa, Kenta Kobashi (his match vs Samoa Joe I saw recently owned btw) to name just a few. So leaving those guys OUT of a top 10 would be somewhat unfair imo...

So, without even remotely trying to put a definite top 10, I would rather leave a list of 10 guys who have left the biggest impression on me ever since I got into watching wrestling. I shall give a reason for my entries ..

1. Bret Hart - prolly not the greatest talker of all time, and not the most flashy of em all, but simply the total in-ring package. Could make a stinker of a booking mean something and made his stuff look legit. Classy stuff.

2. The Rock - without a shadow of doubt the single most entertaining guy I have ever seen on a mic. It always seemed to me that he needed a leader in the ring to put on five star matches, but was decent enough to stand on his own at a later point too. Managed to snowball like only a few did before him ...

3. Stone Cold Steve Austin - I don't think one needs to say a lot about this guy. Single-handedly turned WWE and the business upside down. Unbelievable that WCW never noticed his talent ...

4. Triple H - Consistency and reliability are the keywords I think. With him you will always get solid performances, both on the mic and in the ring. I think he is one of the few in WWE who they could always fall back on for a title run etc, cause he is just that damn good. I couldn't care less about the bile being spewed about him tbh ... if its true or not, backstage politics are not my biz I reckon.

5. Ric Flair - Is a bit past his prime meanwhile but I think wrestling fans of today are blessed to see him still lace up the boots and show all those spot monkeys what psychology means. He is one of the first guys I saw in a ring, wrestling against Kerry von Erich (RIP). I will never forget that match for getting me hooked with wrestling.

6. Dusty Rhodes - Charisma, psychology, everything basically. I did not see his 80ties stuff, sadly (need to get a hold of his DVD asap) but in the 90ties he had -it- still. One heck of an entertainer.

7. Jake "The Snake" Roberts - One of the greatest guys to never hold a WWE/F world title. His interviews were intense and his matches were always exciting. I think there are few guys today who can match his ring psychology.

8. The Undertaker - Made me go "wtf" when he debuted at the Survivor Series ... is hampered by injuries these days, sure, and his deadman gimmick might be a little stale, but still imo a great actor and what you easily forget cause of his gimmicky character, a solid worker.

9. Shawn Michaels - I think he has this particular skill that only few have. He can play as good a heel as a face (kinda like Ric Flair), can piss you off, can make you laugh, and everything in between.

10. Kurt Angle - Unlike some brilliant technicians who lack charisma, he has a truckload of it. Intensity, integrity, intelligence .. heck, he simply makes me care for his character.

These are the ten guys I will deffo remember the most in, lets say, 20 years from now. That is what made me slap up this top ten. There are great new guys coming about, such as AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, Chris Hero and Low Ki, but they are exactly that - new(ish). So lets see where their careers are headed first but they should have a bright future ahead of them.

Then I was strongly debating over several guys to put into my list as well. Sting for example. A true legend and a class act. I guess you can consider him to be entry 10b if you wish. Rick Martel, Tito Santana, Ricky Steamboat, Harley Race .. the list goes on and on. That is why I kind of dislike a top -10, 25, 100- because there have just been (or still are) so many great performers out there, many of who I wish I had seen more of.

Very well said HW. You explained it far better than I could ever have. There have been guys that have wrestled that you and most of these guys here will never be able to appreciate. Being old... I have been lucky enough to have seen a lot of them in their prime.

Thanks for the Lawler hit.... I take heat for being a Lawler fan, but honestly he was really good in his day.

PPV Picks WWE Champion

Here's mine.

I watch alot of Japanese wrestling, and they have some of the best wrestlers in the world. So the top wrestler on my list has to be:

1. Kenta Kobashi(The guy can wrestle with anyone and put on an amazing match-up, truly a legend and a great storyteller.)

2. Jushin Liger(Has to be the greatest Junior Heavyweight to ever step foot in a Japanese ring.)

3. ULTIMATE WARRIAH! Nah i'm jokin. Number three would have to be Kurt Angle(The guy has a great arsenal of moves and is a wonderful storyteller, great on the mic, future hall of famer for sure.)

4. Ric Flair(Great storyteller, wonderful heel, good on mic.)

5. Steve Corino(This guy doesn't get noticed for the things he does, tremendous heel, great in the ring, good storyteller.)

6. Bret Hart

7. Bruno Sammartino

8. Shawn Michaels

9. Chris Benoit

10. Curt Henning

I love the storytelling aspect of wrestling, all the matches that just have great spots and stuff throughout it, that's great and all, but it just seems a bit unorganized. A great match has a story, and something the fans can get behind and enjoy, it may be boring sometimes at the start, but the finish is always memorable. That's why a recognize alot of the wrestlers on my list as great stortellers, because they are.

The Rock had great mic skills and probably one of the best ever. He did sometimes have to have a leader to make a great match but did well later on. He was without a shadow of a doubt, the best wrestler ever.........

^That is your opinion not his. You want to know my opinion?

1. Triple H - Much of the same reasons of Hatework. Is already one of the greats of all time. And still would have a reasonable amount of time left in his career.

2. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin - Great mic work always got the crowd pumped and the ultimate heel loved by the fans. A true badass. As for his wrestling skills... Well before breaking his neck he bloody champ and could still put on a decent match after coming back.

3. Shawn Micheals - One of the greatest showmen of in the history of WWE and a great wrestler to boot.
The Rock - I can't pick between these two they are so similiar in every aspect of why they are so great and dont really beat each other in any aspect either.

5. Kurt Angle - The greatest in ring wrestler I have seen. His mic work is also very good especially over the last 6-8 months.

6. Undertaker - I have mondo respect for dude and he can still put on a good match. Not so much the one a wrestlemania but the one before that against Mark Henry was awesome. But even I must admit the "Phenom" Gimmick is getting stale.

7. Ric Flair - After watching some of his older stuff I gained a hell of a lot more understanding of just why this guy is so great.

8. Kane - The most underewarded superstar in history. A 24 hour title run. What Bullshit! Must be a really good guy in real life to put up with it too. Even Bradshaw got a title reign the went for like 8 months or somethin then you look at what Cena's been handed. What a joke.

9. Chris Jericho - Charismatic great in the ring the full package. He almost meets up with HBK and The Rock except for under the criteria of accomplishments. As Kane has Chris Jericho has got a raw deal from WWE.

10. Chris Benoit - Might possibly be the least charismatic man in the history of WWE but geeze he can wrestle.

I dont know thats a rough guide. There may be a few spots screwed up and whatnot but there you go. Damn its hard to come up with them.

I pretty much agree with Hazard X's list.

Though I would probably not have Jushin Liger in it, but then again, that's because I haven't seen much of his stuff :P
