As people around the world turn on their televisions and the seats in the PCW arena begin to fill up the opening video for Monday Night Mayhem begins to play. The cameras then pan around the arena to show the many different signs the fans have brought to support their favorite superstar, fireworks go off high above the ring, and the entrance way is shook with explosions as Monday Night Mayhem officially kicks off in good fashion. There are banners and posters everywhere promoting PCW’s next payperview Lesson In Loyalty which the cameras catch as they pan over to the announcement table where the two faces of Monday Night Mayhem, Mike Huntsicker and Jerry Byerline both sit waiting to kick off the show. As they begin to talk the first words are drowned out by the cheers and chants from the crowd for their favorite PCW star. Mike Huntsicker: Ladies and Gentleman welcome to another addition of Monday Night Mayhem. We have quite a treat for you here tonight. In this very PCW arena Jimmy-Jeff Wright will be conducting an interview with one of the newest additions to the PCW roster Matt “The Gift” Hughes. Jerry Byerline: That’s right Mike and I personally can’t wait to see what this young guy has to say here tonight. I mean with Lesson In Loyalty just around the corner and the first ever interview with Matt Hughes I am almost ready to wet myself I am so freaking excited. I expect we will hear about how he came to PCW, his future plans now that he’s here, his take on the rest of the PCW roster, and who knows what else. Mike Huntsicker: Well Jerry this is quite a treat to get before Lesson In Loyalty which will be brought to us by the PCW on April 14th, 2006 from the TD Waterhouse in Orlando, FL. While I am also excited to hear what Matt has to say I believe before we go to the ring with Jimmy we have a special video package that has been prepared to be shown here tonight as a sort of introduction for the PCW world to Matt “The Gift” Hughes. Jerry Byerline: Well then what in the hell are we waiting for Mike let’s roll that video and see just what this guy is all about. The screen goes to black as the music of Headstrong by Trapt begins to play. All of a sudden baby pictures of a small boy and what appears to be his mother begin showing. Next you see a dark blue screen with white words that say Matt Hughes and that has the Chinese symbol for perseverance underneath in white. As pictures keep flashing on the screen they go from what looks like a poor son and his mother in a rough setting to what appears to be a successful young man in expensive settings. The man appears about medium size and seems to be in good shape with medium blonde hair that’s pulled into a ponytail and dark brown eyes. The song begins to come to the end when you hear a voice come over the music and begin to speak saying: “I have faced adversity and always persevered. I have climbed to the top of the business world and crushed all those in my path along the way. I have trained with the best that money can buy and now I will conquer the PCW”. As the voice ends and the music is on its last chords the pictures disappear and the screen once again turns dark blue. Only this time it is filled with white letters saying “The Gift”. After a few seconds of that image televisions all over the world are once again greeted with the sight of their two favorite announcers sitting at their Monday Night Mayhem table getting ready to discuss the video package that they just saw. Mike Huntsicker: I think you would agree Jerry when I say that was quite the interesting video package. That kid seems awfully cocky for being the new kid on the block and I find it hard to believe that our current roster is going to be very happy to see that kind of an attitude in a PCW rookie. Jerry Byerline: I can’t argue with you there Mike but if he can back it up then there is no reason for him to worry about anyone having a problem with the walk. However tonight we only get an interview so seeing if he has what it takes to back up those comments will have to wait to be seen another day. I’ve got to say though I definably see a bright future for this guy and I will personally be paying close attention to see where Matt “The Gift” Hughes goes in the coming months here in PCW. If you ask my opinion I got a strange feeling it isn’t going to be anywhere but straight up. Mike Huntsicker: As always Jerry I guess we will just have to agree to disagree on this guy but one thing I know we can agree on is that we should go ahead and get started with this interview. So ladies and gentleman we are going to go ahead and send it down to Jimmy-Jeff Wright who is currently standing in the ring awaiting his first ever exclusive interview with the newest face of PCW Matt “The Gift Hughes. Jimmy-Jeff Wright: Ladies and Gentleman, children of all ages, you are in for quite the night tonight. Your’s truly Jimmy-Jeff Wright is here in this ring to bring you the first words of Matt Hughes. So without further a due please give a big PCW welcome to a soon to be up and coming star here in the Psychotic Championship Wrestling Association, Matt “The Gift” Hughes. All of a sudden not Listening by Papa Roach begins to blare out of the speakers as the crowd turns towards the entrance looking to get a glimpse of this cocky new addition to the PCW roster. The PCW fans go silent as they stand crowded over each other trying to get the best view possible at the entrance way and the music gradually begins to get louder and louder preparing the crowd for something special. All of a sudden the first verses rattle out of the speakers and into the ears of millions of PCW fans while they’re eyes are finally treated to the sights of the next big thing in the PCW. As the curtains open in the entrance way a young, well built man with brown eyes and medium length blonde hair walks out of the curtains and stands at the entrance way assessing his new environment while his new environment asses him. He has his hair pulled back into a ponytail and is wearing a pair of black framed sunglasses with dark blue tints on the glass. He has on a black suit with a dark blue dress shirt. The lights sparkle of his ring as he slowly brings his hand up to take a few drinks of his water. After standing at the entrance for a few minutes his music hits its chorus almost summoning him to the ring. He walks down to the ring ignoring the fans who can’t help but just stand emotionless waiting to see what this guy is all about and still unsure if he calls for their cheers or boo’s. He steps into the ring, takes off his sunglasses, and goes over to get a microphone thrown up to him from ringside. He then proceeds to stand next to Jimmy-Jeff Wright and signals for him to begin the interview as he brushes any specks of dirt off his million dollar suit. Jimmy-Jeff Wright: Well Matt let me start off by…….. The Gift: No you know what Jimmy let me start off. I noticed when you introduced me you called me an up and coming star here in the Psychotic Championship Wrestling Association. Now maybe the rest of the two bit jobbers on the PCW roster are okay with being referred to as that but I’m not. You see I want to make something very clear to you, the fans, and the rest of the PCW employees. I am not an up and coming star here in the PCW but rather I am the star of PCW and I expect to be referred to as such from this point forward. Are we clear on that I? As Matt turns and get’s in the face of Jimmy-Jeff Wright the crowd begins to rain down their first reaction of the night as they fill the arena with boo’s. However much to their surprise as Jimmy begins to sweat and lean back Matt simply turns back around showing the crowd nothing but a simple smirk as if he is almost satisfied with their disgust. Not willing to back down the PCW crowd appears to try and shake the building as they boo even louder in protest of Matt’s disrespectful comments towards some of their favorite veterans. But Matt just stands and smirks as if he had the crowd right where he wanted them. As the crowd begins to die down to hear what else this brash young rookie has to say Jimmy starts to regain his composure and wipes his forward as Matt signals him to once again begin his interview. Jimmy-Jeff Wright: Well Matt I guess let me start again by welcoming you to the PCW. Now I am sure there are a lot of people in the back and in the higher offices that might take exception to some of the comments you have just made and that you stated in the opening video. Aren’t you at all worried about the possibility of getting on the bad side of too many people so early into you’re PCW career? The Gift: Honestly Jimmy the answer to that is quite simple. HELL NO I’m not worried. I want to make sure that you, everyone in this arena, everyone at home, and everyone backstage are listening because I am only going to say this once. I am not here to make friends, I am not here to make other people happy, and I’m sure as hell not here to give a damn about what anyone else thinks. I am simply here to take over the PCW and that is exactly what I am going to do whether anyone has a problem with it or not. I mean I can’t help it if people don’t like to hear the truth but that certainly doesn’t mean that I am going to stop speaking it. Jimmy-Jeff Wright: Well I am sure we will see in the coming weeks if anyone in the PCW does have a problem with the truth and takes exception to some of you’re comments. But that is the future and I am about the now so let’s get back to this interview. I was wondering if you could give everyone a little bit of insight as to what made you come to the Psychotic Championship Wrestling Association. The Gift: Actually Jimmy that is a question that a lot of people have been asking me lately so I guess I will go ahead and give everyone the inside scoop. Before I came to the PCW I was the top guy in one of the top businesses in the U.S. I was at the pinnacle of my career when I suddenly decided to just quit and change directions. In the end the fact was that the repeating days, being at the top with nowhere higher to go, and the power to be able to get or destroy anything I wanted just got old. Luckily for me one day I was flipping through the channels when I stumbled upon a PCW payperview. Watching that I realized that there were guys all over the TV wrestling and winning titles that would still only have half my talent when you combine them. So I used my fortune to travel the world training and now here I stand in this PCW ring not only as the star of PCW but also as the greatest wrestler to ever step foot into a ring. Finally some noise begins to fill the arena as the fans start to converse with each other over this new wrestler. They can’t help but discuss with each other what this guy obviously left to join the PCW and how confident he seems to be that he can just walk into the PCW and take over. However this only lasts for a few seconds as Jimmy’s next question intrigues the crowd and they quite down to hear just what Matt has to say. All the while Matt stands in the ring nonchalant like he has been the entire time drinking his water and acting as if he is not saying anything surprising. Jimmy-Jeff Wright: Wow no one can disagree that you obviously gave up a lot to be in this ring and that you certainly have quite the impressive background. However if that success translates to wins in the PCW rings will remain to be seen. However I am sure I speak on behalf of the PCW when I wish you the best of luck. So having watched PCW before are there any wrestlers on the PCW roster that you are looking forward to wrestling during you’re time here or that you are really hoping to have you’re first match against? The Gift: Are you seriously asking me that. No there is not anyone I feel is any more worth my time than anyone else on the PCW roster. To me they are all two cent contracts that equal the same thing when they step into a ring with me and that’s a win. If anything I am sure everyone is sitting back right now trying to figure out how they can get a match with me to make their career somewhat worthwhile. Let’s be honest Jimmy I am The Gift to wrestling, The Gift to PCW, and The Gift to all their careers. I can take a no talent loser like Strider and make them look good when they step into a ring with me. How you ask by simply being THAT DAMN GOOD! The fact of the matter is whoever my first opponent may be whether it is that back to the future idiot Mike Craze, that wizard wannabe jobber The Quintastic One, that split personality pipsqueak Justin Blast, or that emotional mishap meathead Hatework in the end they will all be taught The Lesson. Simply put whoever is put in my way will be dismantled at my hands and I will persevere. Once again disagreement from the crowd can be heard through the arena as they refuse to just sit by and let some of their favorite PCW wrestlers be trash talked. As they begin to boo Matt simply just shakes his head and throws them a middle finger for their troubles. This only angers the crowd more as they now stand on their feet shouting any phrases they hope may finally break this overconfident young wrestler. Soon the front rows are crowded as the fans have had enough and security is in full force around the ring as the barricade almost breaks from the pressure of the fans leaning forward hoping to get just close enough for Matt to hear their words of hatred. Seeing that the situation is beginning to get out of control Jimmy begins to talk again hoping that the interview can go on and that the fans will settle down. Soon the crowd quiets enough to hear the rest of the interview but not with out some intermittent chants for their favorite wrestler or of their favorite descriptive word for Matt which at this point is heard loud and clear by anyone near the building as being ASSHOLE. Jimmy-Jeff Wright: Actually Matt I am glad that you mentioned Hatework. As you probably already know Hatework and H2O will be competing in a highly anticipated rematch for the Championship at Lesson In Loyalty. What are you’re expectations and predictions for this sure to be breathtaking match. The Gift: To start off with I feel horrible for the fans that have to actually sit through that match that the PCW is actually trying to pass of as a main event. In the end I could care less about that match and I could care even less about the outcome. The fact of the matter is whoever holds that belt between now and when I finally get my shot at that title had better enjoy their fifteen minutes of fame because when I do finally earn my shot at the title it will be mine. Jimmy-Jeff Wright: Okay well this has defiantly been an extremely intriguing and exciting interview and I want to thank you for you’re time Matt. Unfortunately though we are out of time so before I throw it back to my colleagues at the announcer’s table I want to personally wish………. The Gift: Woah Woah Woah big man. What in God’s good name makes you think that you can tell Matt “The Gift” Hughes when his time is over? I got news for you Jimmy this is my ring, this is my arena, this is my interview, and we are on my time and no one else’s. So while this interview isn’t quite over for me it is however over for you. Starting now you have exactly ten seconds to get the hell out of my ring and out of my sight. At the sound of this the crowd explodes into its first cheer of the night. Hoping that Jimmy will take out this brash new addition the crowd tries to give their voices to lend a hand. Matt begins to count 1……..Jimmy begins to sweat and starts to look around frantically trying to decide what to do and knowing there’s not much time to make a decision. 2………...Jimmy goes to try and say something in the microphone hoping to just brush the situation off and finish the interview but Matt simply knocks the microphone out of his hand and continues counting. 3………Jimmy tries to come up with another way out of the situation but hearing his own thoughts through the crowd’s cheers and encouragement ringing through his ears is almost impossible. 4……Knowing he has no choice but to fly or fight Jimmy quickly rolls out of the ring and begins a steady walk directly towards the entrance way. 5…………Seeing Jimmy run away causes the crowd to get behind Matt for the first time in the night and they begin to count with him while some begin to break out in song. 6………………As the lyrics Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Hey Hey HeyGoodbye fills the ears of those around and the crowd continues to count as Matt begins to take off his jacket. 7…........Matt begins to show some emotion as he smiles and rolls up his sleeves as if he enjoys the count and the fans reaction which by this point is pretty much everyone with a ticket singing to Jimmy. 8………….Jimmy still frantically walks up the ramp way looking back every now and then almost as if he were trying to decide to go back but doesn’t waste too much time knowing his count is almost up. 9…………Matt throws his jacket over his shoulder and shakes his head almost as if he were disappointed in the decision Jimmy made. 10……..The crowd once again fills the arena louder with boo’s than the speakers did with music but rather at Jimmy this time than Matt. As Jimmy disappears behind the curtain on 10 Matt once again goes to a face of no emotions and walks up to the camera with his jacket over his shoulder. With his face directly in front of the camera and the crowd once again at a hush Matt puts on his glasses and says his final peace. The Gift: Before I leave here tonight I want everyone around the world to take a good look at this face because this will be the face of PCW for a long time to come. As for anyone that may have a problem accepting that or that has a problem hearing the truth I beg you to try and do something about it. REALLY I AM BEGGING SOMEONE TO TRY DOING SOMETHING TO STOP ME! With that final word Matt simply drops the microphone, gives the camera a middle finger, throws back on the jacket, and leaves the ring brushing off his suit and finishing off his water. As he makes his way up the rampway toe the music of Not Listening he gets mixed reactions from the crowd with some cheering out of enjoyment and some booing out of hate. He doesnt let a reaction phase him and simply turns to give the crowd one last smirk and to throw his water bottle into the crowd before dissapearing behind the curtain leaving a feeling of anticipation and excitment from wanting more of "The Gift" Mike Huntsicker: Well I hope you all enjoyed that very colorful and highly insightful interview from Matt "The Gift" Hughes. I am sure that is not the last we have heard of him and I personally cant wait to see what happens on the next Monday Night Mayhem after that interview. However I do have a feeling that maybe more people than just our interviewers may want to have a word with him in that ring next time. Jerry Byerline: Wow that was great. Did you see how quick Jimmy scurried out of that ring now that is power. Mark my words Mike Matt "The Gift" Hughes is definatly going to be a force to be reckoned with here in PCW and I feel sorry for anyone that can't come to terms with that. Mike Huntsicker: Wow Jerry you seem to be jumping on this guy's badwagon awfully quick. I am curious to see if he is that effective when it is a wrestler in that ring rather than a middle aged interviewer. However we don't have time to sit here and argue about it because it is time for a commercial break so stick around folks because Monday Night Mayhem will be right back after these commercials. Monday Night Mayhem goes off the air as TV's are filled with their local commercials giving everyone at home and in the arena a chance to just sit back and wonder what's next for Matt "The Gift" Hughes. |

Finishing Moves: The Facelift / The Lesson The Educator / The Gift Brief Description Of Your Character. (How do they act?): Matt “the Gift” Hughes is a cocky young wrestler that is convinced that he is the next big thing in the PCW and that no one is going to be able to stop him. He has persevered through a lot and has climbed to the top of the business world convincing him that if no obstacle has stopped him to this point then the PCW roster certainly isn’t going to stop him from reaching his goal. He wrestles fair and believes in honors and morals and can be cool with people. But if someone is in his way or gets in his face he makes no qualms about taking them on no matter who they are.
| |
