Hey, is anyone else as excited for this game, like me? Its gonna be way better than any other wrestling game. Buried Alive Matches, over 50 superstars, 2 year Season modes. It is gonna be great. What are all of your thoughts?

Supposedly there is over 100 match types, and 50 superstars, 14 legends. Plus, this time you can take the legends into the Season Mode. plus there is also individual storylines for specific characters. plus in storymode, everyone has a voiceover, including CAWs. It is going to be the best, and quite possibly the last, wrestling game on the PS2!

Theres no doubt that this will be the last wrestling game for the PS2 and there is no doubt that THQ is going to go out on the PS2 with a bang. I origionally feared that this game would be a launch title for the PS3 in order to give more incentive to people to go out and get a PS3.

As for what I know about the game, I know very little... I burned myself out last year on the origional Smackdown Vs. Raw when I went and learned everything I could about it, and then when I got to play it I was just like... "Ok... The replay value here absolutely blows... And this game isn't too much better than Here Comes The Pain... I can't believe I spent all that time dying to play this game for this..."

It's so interesting to see how far THQ has come since the mid 90's and the WCW games. WCW/NWO world tour (I think it was called that) was a revolution... It gave us so many new moves to be able to do that it wasn't even funny... Then along came revenge and that was the best thing since oxygen. I remember running out and getting WrestleMania 2000 the day it came out and that game had entrance music, and whats this nifty little feature? Create a wrestler? Hmmm.. Lets try that....

HOLY SHIT MOM! COME LOOK AT ME! I'M A HARD ASS!

THQ has come a long way in 10 years and I think that this game is going to take them to the new level...

Personally, I can't wait for it, but I'm not going to sit around preped for it like I did last year's game...

Yeah, the features etc sound interesting, I have to say though that I've had my gripes with previous THQ wrestling games, mainly cause none so far felt like I was actually "virtually" wrestling. I am still gonna get it, but I am not holding my breath - remember the hype for last year's game? Smackdown v Raw sucked pretty bad imho. It looked nice (for a PS2 game that is), it had the long awaited CAB mode, voiceovers etcetc, it just lacked when you stepped into the ring. Too arcadish for my taste, and that is what all the THQ games are - Mortal Kombat in a wrestling ring. I hope there will be changes towards more realism, but we'll see about that. Fancy features and 583048309484820820 match types don't necessarily make a good game for me. I'm a realism freak when it comes to games, and anything arcadish is usually a major turn off for me just cause it doesn't feel right (for example, I HATE Need for Speed).

As for the "best" wrestling game - that award supposedly went to the Fire Pro series from Japan which sadly isn't available in any other language version. I am much more excited about Pro Wrestling X, a wrestling game made by fans for fans which started out as a project from a bunch of disgruntled wrestling gamers and now turned into a full fledge funded and developed game that is gonna come out on PC. Its not gonna come with a license, but PC games are moddable so I do not really care about that.

Well, the problem with realism in wrestling games is that when you stay down longer from the effects of a move, you A) create down time for the player which may cause them to think it's boring and leave... Remember.. 1/2 of kids these days have some form of ADD. (Danny Nitro anyone?) B ) alow more time for your opponet to literally eat you alive. Because you have to remember, real wrestling is co-operation... Games is a fight... In real wrestling your opponet isnt going to overdo it and hit you with 10000 stomps in the time it takes you to get up because there are other things he can do... In the game world, the more moves you do, the better chance you have of winning. So it's kind of hard to achieve realism from video games...

Thats all true, but this one, there is stamina. So you get tired just doing moves, which means the opponent also has to stop and take a breather in order to continue on top(no more 1000 stomps ina row). Thats one of the cool things in this game. you get tired, and you also have the momentum switch like in Day of Reckonings.(I have a lot of knowledge on this one.) there is also the new attributes, Stamina and Hardcore. I understand what you guys are syaing, but I think it will be more exciting in this one, not too easy but not too hard. It not like day of reckoning where they always counter every move. but its much more like a true wrestling match. Another new thing is the 3D locker room. In wich you can customize to personally fit your character. there is so much you can change, wall styles, formats, your desk. Believe me, this one wrestling game that you do not want to miss. It is nowhere near the same league of the first smackdown vs raw. this is somewhere on the highest pedistal.

Another thing I noticed, is how they really changed the Cage Match. This time you can interact with cage on much more levels, like pull them from the cage, and cause them to fall onto the ropes. Plus, the Create a belt is also a lot differe,t including Nameplates for it.

im really looking forward to this one. they have Hogan back again. and the new story mode is going to be sick. does anyone know if their is capes yet? ive been waiting for actual capes since warzone back in the day for ps1. like i said i cant wait for this game. sure it will be dissapointing if its another blow off. but as long as the story mode is long and interesting, i will be satisfied.

Heres another new feature In the new Smackdown vs. RAW 2006 video game, players will get the chance to be general manager, as the game now features a "GM Mode". You will now be able to draft a roster and make matches, in the attempt to get "better ratings" than the other brand (whichever brand you don't choose).

Sounds good, Here in the UK it comes out on the 11th of November but I will be getting it on the 10th which is cool and I am looking forward to this game but I just hope THQ dont make this the best wrestling game and then fail to impress on the Playstation 3.

Hopefully it wont and Wrestling games will go to a all new level!

All titles from WWE plus as unlockables the million dollar belt and the hardcore title. I am pretty intrigued by the 2 player GM mode atm which I am playing with a friend - pretty funny. All in all its much better than last year's SvR, the stamina thing adds a lot to the matches. The screen looks a lot more cleaned up with not as big meters all over it etcetc ... some major improvements but lotsa minor stuff imho. Big leap for the series.

I also like how you can't repeat moves, or else the crowd does't get into it, and Your special doesn't dill. It makes it a lot more real, and The GM Mode, is the absolute thing I will try first, no doubt! I love Madden, and Bastketball and this is will be such a twist for a wrestling game. It is gonna be off the chain.
