Oh, the ones I read were where there were 3 or more character's talking. Usually I specify who's talking by their attitude and style of speech. Sometimes I'll make them say names so that you can identify who it is. I usually leave lots of clues.

Anyway, I gotta put up the second chapter. Sorry if it's hard to read Link.

Chapter 2

Seth was relaxing with Yumisato in the oasis. “Ahh,” he said, letting the sun-warmed water relax his muscles. He could hear the common townsfolk talking about that giant wave. “They’re still talking about it?” “Many are taking it as a bad omen.” Yumisato said. “They think that monsters are now going to come.” “Well, it’s proven true then,” Seth said, “that giant worm was definitely a monster.” “Yeah,” Yumisato said as he noticed a few girls around the age of 18 looking at them. “Hey, Seth.” “What?” “You’ve got some new members for your fan club.” “Huh?” Seth turned around, and saw the three girls looking at him. All three of them giggled and blushed slightly when he looked at them. He turned back around. “Too bad I’m not interested in girls.” “They’re all good-looking Seth.” Yumisato said. “So? Why don’t you “play” with them Sato. You’re interested in girls. Now’s your chance to finally get a girlfriend.” Seth replied with a smirk on his face “Shut it!” Yumisato shoved Seth’s head underwater. “You and your disgusting comments!” Seth coughed for a few seconds after surfacing. “Dammit! Now my hair’s wet thanks to you!” “Your fault. I do not “play” around with girls you bastard! I’m just interested in them.” “Uh-huh, suuuuure.” “Look, just shut the hell up! Alright!” “Fine, fine.” Seth said, smirking.

“Yep, I destroyed the worm before it even had a chance to attack me.” Rick said. “Wow Rick, you’re so brave and skilled with a sword. I wish I could fight like you,” Martel said, admiration gleaming in her eyes. Rick chuckled, blushing slightly. “You seem to be very skilled with a blade, “Kratos said. “I am.” Rick said, his ego expanding. “Heh,” Kratos said. “Then maybe you can demonstrate sometime.”

Suddenly, the ground began too shake in the Triet Desert and Triet.
“W-w-what’s going on?” Martel asked, fear in her voice and eyes. “I do not know.” Kratos said. Rick had his sword drawn.

“Alright, what the hell is happening now?!” Seth asked as he and Yumisato dried themselves off, and put on a dry set of clothes. “Dammit, it’s an earthquake I bet.” “No, it’s not,” Yumisato said. Townsfolk were screaming and hiding in their houses. The inn was completely packed. “Let’s go take a look.” Seth said as he and Yumisato left Triet.

Suddenly, a huge worm that was exactly like the one Seth saw came roaring out of the sand, except this time, the worm was bigger. It had the same exact features of the one Seth faced though.

The townspeople screamed, and stared at the worm in terror. Martel clung to Rick, signifying him as protection. Kratos drew his sword and shield. “So, this is what was causing that shaking. “G-g-grandpa. You said there were no more monsters.” Martel said. “I said that’s unlikely for monsters to be here. Something’s not right. That monster has a strange purplish substance coming from its mouth. That’s unnatural for any monster.”

Dammit! Another one!” Seth said, drawing his two swords. Yumisato drew his strange rod. It was a dark purple, like Seth’s swords, and it had strange designs in the middle of a circle at the end. It was designed as a healer’s staff, and its name was Heart of Chaos. “Alright, you fight, I’ll heal.”

“Stay back Martel,” Rick said as he dashed at the creature. “Rick! No!” Martel yelled as the worm noticed Rick and swung its body, crashing into Rick as he was sent up into the air, and landed next to Martel. “Rrr . . . ugh.” Martel knelt down next to Rick. “Rick, are you alright?” “I’m . . . urk . . . . fine.” Rick said. “Martel’s hands glowed as they healed Rick. Rick rose. “I never knew you could heal.” “Neither did I.” “Do not be so hasty.” Kratos said as he and Rick dashed, and made a few stabs at the creature. It roared, and smashed its body into them, making them land near Martel. “Rr . . . . this . . thing’s stronger than I thought.” Kratos said. “How are we going to defeat this thing?” Martel said. “I don’t know,” Kratos said.

Seth had been watching Rick and Kratos. “None of them are strong enough. They lack the skills.” he snorted. “Don’t underestimate them.” Yumisato said. “Yeah, yeah.” Seth replied airily. “If they fail again, I’ll go in and help them.” “Alright.” "I should be gettin' paid for this." "Oh shut up you greedy bastard." "Hey. I need some money."

Martel healed Rick and Kratos, and then they went and tried to jump over the worm’s huge body. Kratos flew over, but Rick wasn’t so lucky. He was smashed, again, and landed near Martel.

“Whoa! An angel!” Seth said. “So, they still do exist.” Yumisato said.

Kratos flew down at the worm, and stabbed it multiple times, then flew to a different area, and began hacking at it skillfully, creating devastating cuts. The worm roared, and a dark aura came out, and a dark wave was sent at Kratos. “What the?” Kratos said as he was hit, then fell as the worm smashed into him, sending him away from Martel and Rick. “Grandpa!” Martel yelled.

“All right, let’s see just how much harder this one is,” Seth said. “Maybe you should go over and help that other guy out Sato.” “Good idea,” Yumisato said as he ran over to Rick and Martel. Once he saw Martel, he just stared at her. “Um . . . . . hello,” Martel said. “Who might you be.” “Uh . . . .er . . . . . um . . . .” Yumisato tried to think of what too say. “Is something wrong?” Martel asked. Rick got up, “Hey, stop staring at Martel!” he yelled. Yumisato snapped back into reality. “Oh! I’m sorry. Er . . . I’m Yumisato, but my friends call me Sato.” Martel gave a warm smile. “I’m Martel, and this is Rick. It’s nice to meet you Yumisato.” “Uh . . . . .” Martel’s smile caught Yumisato. “Snap outta it!” Rick yelled. “Huh? Oh . . . . sorry,” Yumisato mumbled as he heard the worm roar. It had spotted them. “Damn. Both of you, we need to get a bit farther away. My cousin is going to take care of this.” “Single-handed? Hah!” Rick scoffed. “He’ll fail just like Kratos and me.” “Shut up and move!” Yumisato said as he grabbed Martel’s right hand and Rick’s left hand, and pulled them farther away. Once far enough, he stopped. “Sorry, but you two were just standing there.” “So, who is your cousin?” Martel asked. “You’ll see him. He’ll be the one jumping high into the air. He looks like someone who has worked out all their life, and he wields two dark purple swords.” “No one can jump that high.” Rick said. “Heh, well, my cousin can.” “Ha! This’ll be good! I’ll laugh when I see your cousin fail.”

Seth approached the giant worm. “Let’s go ya bastard. I’m ready for ya.” The giant worm head Seth, and turned, swinging it’s body at him. “I really don’t wanna use my superhuman strength in front of people I don’t know, but these worms are just too powerful for me to not use it.” Seth thought as he drew Nebilim, and jumped, propelling himself with his insane strength.

Rick and Martel watched in amazement as they saw the lone figure of Seth in the air. “Is that . . . . . your cousin?” Martel asked. “That sure is Martel.” Yumisato said. “I can’t . . . . believe that. How the fricken’ hell does he jump that high?!” Rick asked. “That’s a mystery to me as well.” Yumisato said. “But, it may have something to do with his odd strength. He’s much more powerful than a normal human.”

Seth landed on the giant worm. He tried to balance, but it proved much more difficult than he expected. “Dammit!” he yelled as the worm’s thrashing about got the best of him, and he was smashed into the sand near Yumisato and the others. He quickly got up.

“Hold on for a second.” Yumisato said as he ran over to Seth, and cast First Aid. “You okay Seth?” “Yeah. I just gotta stab him in the heart or something. Can your staff find it?” “I dunno. I’ll try,” Yumisato said as he held up his staff, and it glowed. “Whoa! My staff only glows when I’m identifying your weapon. Something about that worm is the same as your swords!” “Impossible.” “Well, look!” “Hmm . . . . yeah. Well, whatever. I’ll just stab him as much as I can. Cast a light spell or somethin’.” “Alright.” Seth ran back towards the worm, while Yumisato ran back to Martel and Rick. “Can any of you cast magic?” “Nope,” Rick said. “My mother taught me a few techniques.” Martel said. “Then please use it.” Yumisato said. “Okay.” Martel’s wings appeared, and she raised her head and enclosed her hands as if she were praying. Yumisato, ignoring Martel this time, began to conjure light energy inside his staff.

Seth jumped again, and landed on the giant worm. He began stabbing as much as he could in different places, balancing himself. His swords then began to glow. “Hmm, this might be where the heart is.” He stabbed the area with his swords, which were still glowing, and the worm roared.”

“Now!” Yumisato yelled as he cast Ray, and rays of light began to hit the area around the heart.

“Oh holy one, cast thy light upon this corrupt soul.” Martel whispered. The light of judgment began to rain on the worm. “Holy crap. Is that an angel technique?” Yumisato asked. “Yeah,” Martel said as she put her wings away. “Amazing. I’ve never actually seen an angel technique before.” Yumisato said.

One of the rays of judgment hit the heart, which is exactly what Seth needed. “Time to make you disappear,” he said as he stabbed, with both swords, into the heart. The worm roared as it began to disintegrate, the light and dark elements corrupting the worm’s heart, burning its body to nothingness. Seth jumped off, and landed next to Kratos, who had been watching. “You, who are you?” Kratos asked. “The name’s Seth, Seth Yakasaki.” Seth said. “You are no ordinary human. Are you an angel?” “Nope. I’m just a normal human who can jump high.” “I can tell you’re lying.” Kratos said. “Er . . . . well . . . . . th-“ “Snap this sword.” Kratos handed Seth a very sturdy sword, one that would be impossible for a normal human to snap. “Why?” “Just do it. It’s an old sword. I don’t use it.” “Alright.” Seth easily snapped the sword.

“You have strength beyond compare. You used your strength to propel yourself into the air, correct?” “Yeah . . .how did you kn-“ “That is not for you too know.” Kratos said as he saw Yumisato, Martel, and Rick walk over. “Grandpa!” Martel said, smiling. Seth turned to the sound of the beautiful voice, and saw Martel. He was thunderstruck. “Martel, you are alright. Good.” Kratos said. “Seth?” Yumisato waved his hand in front of Seth. “Hey Seth, you feelin’ okay?” Seth gave no answer. “Seth!” Yumisato thwacked Seth with his staff. “Ow! What the hell was that for Sato?” Seth said as he held his head in pain. “You were staring at Martel,” Yumisato whispered into Seth’s ear. “Oh . . . . well, she’s beautiful. Her eyes are so calm, and I felt like all my troubles and worries were gone when I saw that smile.” Seth whispered back. Yumisato smirked. “Now look who’s interested in girls.” “Shut up!” “What are you two talking about?” Martel asked. “Nothing,” Yumisato said. “Everyone, meet my cousin, Seth.” “Nice to meet you Seth,” Martel said. “I’m Martel, and that’s Rick. It looks like you’ve already met my grandpa.” “Nice to meet you too,” Seth said, returning to his usual self.

“We should be heading to Triet. We were looking for who caused that huge wave.” Kratos said as the group began walking towards Triet. “That was me,” Seth said. “I might as well tell Martel and Rick too. I have superhuman strength. I usually don’t use it though. Before you guys, there was a giant worm that came, and I fought it single-handedly. My finishing blow sent the worm into the ocean, causing those huge waves.” “That makes sense,” Kratos said as the group entered Triet, “the impact of the worm caused that huge wave.” The townspeople, seeing that the worm was gone, returned too normal. It was late, and the group rested at the inn.

Chapter 3

Monster . . . . . a horrid creature, sent to wreak havoc upon people. Triet was one of its victims. When Seth awoke, he saw fire, everywhere. He rushed out of the inn. Yumisato, Martel, Rick, and Kratos nowhere in sight. He saw monsters everywhere as well, and witnessed one killing one of the townspeople. The ground ran red with blood from the innocent townspeople. Seth drew his swords, and slew a monster in his way. He saw Yumisato and Rick. “Sato! Rick!” He quickly slew a few monsters that had surrounded Yumisato and Rick, and approached them. “Seth! I’m glad you’re here! Kratos left, and is searching for Martel outside Triet, and defending it. We can’t find Martel anywhere!” Yumisato said. “Alright, you two go and help Kratos. I’ll find Martel.” Yumisato nodded in agreement, but Rick was defiant. “Why do you get too save Martel?” Seth glared at Rick. “Look, if parts of a building fall, I can easily catch it. I’m saving her because it’s too dangerous for you too go when the buildings are crumbling and falling.” “Fine,” Rick said as he and Yumisato left Triet, and joined up with Kratos.

“Martel!” Seth called out. “Martel! Dammit, where the hell is she?” He frantically looked around, slaying any monster that got in his way. After 10 minutes, he heard a girl screaming, and recognized the voice instantly. He headed towards it, and saw Martel surrounded by monsters. “Dammit!” Seth said. He saw a bit of a building beginning to crumble over Martel. “Get down!” Seth yelled as he rushed towards Martel bashing through some monsters, and throwing his swords away from his as he dived, grabbed Martel, and pushed her away as the building fell on top of him and all the monsters. The monsters instantly died, but Seth was able to hold the heavy pieces up, and let the lighter, less-deadly ones hit him. Martel looked at Seth. “Thanks,” she said. “Don’t stand there!” Run!” Seth said. “Right,” Martel said as she began running. Seth saw grain and flour near the fire in a bakery. “Holy s***.” He knew Martel wouldn’t get far enough to escape an explosion, and he knew one was coming. He ran over to where his swords were, grabbed them, and sheathed them as he ran as fast as he could. When he heard it. An explosion. Due to the amount of fire, the explosion could be heard around Sylverant. Martel turned around, and saw the explosion, and gasped as Seth grabbed her. He hung onto Martel as the explosion came near. “Guardian!” Seth yelled as a green light surrounded them, and protected them against the initial force that would have otherwise sent them flying. After the damage guard faded, and the rest of the explosion Seth took full force.

The explosion was so colossal, it could be seen across Sylverant. Sylverant and Tethe’alla could hear the noise. “Isn’t that where Martel is?” Raine asked Lloyd. “I hope not.” Lloyd said. “Lloyd, we should go and check on them. I’m worried.” Colette said. “So am I.” Lloyd said. “I could get us all there.” Sheena said. “I have a wind guardian with me.” “I might as well go too,” Raine said. “And I’ll come too!” Genis said. “Alright, we’ll go as soon as the smoke dies down,” Lloyd said.

When Martel opened her eyes, she saw Seth’s orange eyes staring back at her. “Are you alright?” Seth asked, smiling. “Yes, I am.” Martel said, blushing slightly due to her close proximity to Seth. “That’s good.” Seth said. “Thank you for saving me.” Martel said, smiling slightly. “Are you okay?” “No problem,” Seth said weakly. “And yeah, I’m fine . . . . . . . urk . . . . . . . . . . . .” Seth was able to move slightly, then fell onto the ground. Martel looked at his back, and gasped in horror and disgust. Whatever Seth’s back looked like now was no more. He had barely any skin left on his back. Just blood, tons of it, and small bits of skin. It wasn’t a pretty sight to behold. “Oh my gosh.” Martel was amazed that Seth was still living after that. “He risked his own life to save me.” Martel slowly lifted Seth, and tried to pick him up, but he was too heavy. She gently laid him back down. “What am I going to do?” Just then, she saw Kratos, Yumisato, and Rick. “Martel? Seth?” Yumisato called out. “Where are you both?”

“Over here,” Martel said. The three came over, and when the saw Seth, they stared in horror. “Wha-w-w-what happened to him?!” Yumisato asked. “He took the explosion.” Martel said. “How did you survive?” Kratos asked. “He protected me. His body was taking everything that I would have received had he not been protecting me.” “I can heal him. He isn’t dead.” Yumisato said. “It should take me about 20 minutes to bandage him.” Yumisato took out a long white bandage, and began wrapping it around Seth, starting from the bottom of his back and working his way up. “This is terrible.” Rick said. “Triet is completely destroyed.” “Yes, the monsters annihilated Triet,” Kratos said. “I wish I knew their purpose.” “Yeah, me too,” Yumisato said, finishing wrapping Seth. Once he finished, he began to heal him so that he’d wake up. Martel sat by Yumisato. “Is he going to be okay?” she asked, a worried look on her face. Yumisato grinned. “Don’t worry Martel. Seth can get through anything. He’ll be fine.” “Thank goodness,” Martel said.

“You’re one strange girl Martel.” Yumisato said suddenly while healing Seth. “I beg your pardon? How am I strange?” “Because, Seth actually risked his life to save you.” “Wouldn’t he do that for anyone else?” Yumisato shook his head as he took his staff out, and cast healing circle on Seth. “No. Seth doesn’t save anyone. If you had known Seth longer, you’d know that he’s a mercenary, and a good one. If his job is too protect, then he’ll protect. Otherwise he looks out for himself and his family, and that’s it. He will care for no one else. You however, are different. Seth risked his own life too protect you without pay. I find that very strange.”

Suddenly Lloyd, Colette, Sheena, Raine, and Genis appeared next to the small group. “Mom? Dad?” Martel asked. “Lloyd, what are you and the others doing here?” Kratos asked. “We saw the explosion, and heard it,” Raine said. “We were worried about you, and-“ “Rick! What are you doing here?!” Lloyd asked. “I, uh, um . . . .” “Rick.” Genis said. “You’re such an idiot. You don’t follow Martel like that.” “I wasn’t following her! I wanted to go on an adventure too!” Rick said. “Uh-huh, right,” Genis said. “Actually, he did,” Martel said. “And grandpa let him come along.” “He hasn’t done anything wrong.” Kratos said.

“This isn’t the time to worry about Rick!” Sheena said. “There are two people over there, and one looks seriously injured. He’s a human. The other is a half-elf . . . . a healer from the looks of it.” “Oh, those two are Seth and Yumisato.” Martel said. “Seth is the injured one. Yumisato is the one healing him.” “Seth is the cause of that wave. He was fighting a giant worm, and threw it into the ocean.” Kratos said. “You mean-“ Raine said. “Yes, monsters have returned. They are the reason Triet is now in total ruin.” Kratos said. “Dammit.” Lloyd said.

Yumisato noticed the group. “Ah, hello there. Sorry for ignoring you. I was busy. Seth should be coming awake soon.” “Could you tell us what happened to Seth?” Colette asked. “You wrapped his back up with a bandage.” “He was caught in the explosion.” Yumisato replied. “You mean he survived?” Raine asked. “It looks like it.” Yumisato said. “How was he caught in the explosion?” Sheena asked. “He was protecting me.” Martel answered for Yumisato. “I wasn’t able to get out of Triet. Monsters were around me, and they had disabled my use of wings with a strange spell. I was powerless. Seth saved me from the monsters, and then grabbed me, threw me too the ground with him, and used guardian as the explosion occurred.”

“There’s no way guardian can last that long,” Kratos said. “It didn’t.” Martel said. “It stopped after the initial force broke it, and then I closed my eyes, and I must have fainted, because the next thing I saw when I woke up was Seth. He was still conscious then. He moved a bit, and then fell.” The whole group was silent as they took in this information. “Well, I’ll have to thank him then.” Lloyd said. “It’s amazing he survived such an explosion. He’s no ordinary human.” Raine said. “Does he use magic?” Genis asked. “No.” Yumisato said. “And even if he could, he wouldn’t. He hates magic. “ Sheena looked a the sky. “We should set up camp.” “Good idea,” Kratos said.

A small fire was set up. “Is Seth awake yet?” Kratos asked. “No,” Yumisato said as he looked at the stars in the night sky. “What are you guys going to do now? You’ve found out that Seth caused that wave.” “We don’t know,” Lloyd said. “Where are you and Seth going to go?” Colette asked. “Eh, I’ll probably go to my home in Meltokio. As for Seth. Who knows? He probably won’t be with me though. He prefers to travel alone, unless he is protecting someone.” “We’ll probably be heading back to Iselia. We have to inform the king of Tethe’alla of what happened to Triet, and warn them that monsters are abroad.” Raine said. “Hey, Seth is waking up.” Rick said.

“Ngh . . .” Seth slowly opened his eyes. He tried to sit up, but he felt immense pain in his back. Damn! That hurts!” “You finally woke up.” Yumisato said as he took out his staff, and cast first aid, enabling Seth to sit up. “Thanks.” “Don’t mention it.” Seth looked at Lloyd and the others. “Who are these guys?” “This is Lloyd, Colette, Raine, Sheena, and Genis,” Yumisato said. “Lloyd and Colette are Martel’s parents, while Raine, Genis, and Sheena are good friends.” “Nice to meet ya.” Seth said. “I’m sure Sato already told you guys my name.” “Yes.” Raine said. Seth winced with pain. “So, exactly why do I have a bandage wrapped around me?” “Because of the explosion.” Rick said. “You don’t want to see your back.” Yumisato said. “Just imagine seeing someone with only tiny bits of skin left on their back, and the rest blood.” “I knew that was gonna happen.” Seth said. “Then why the hell did you do it? This is the very first time I have ever seen you put your own life in danger for someone else when it’s not your job to protect that person.” Yumisato said.

“Er . . . . well . . . . . just shut up Sato.” Seth said. Yumisato smirked. “Whatever you say.” After awhile, Seth stood up, wincing in pain. “Well, I’m gonna leave.” “So soon?” Lloyd asked. “Yeah. I think I’ll go to Palmacosta.” “My daughter wants to see you. Since you’re awake, you should go see her.” Lloyd said. “You mean Martel?” “Yes.” “Er . . . okay.” Seth said as he walked in the direction Lloyd indicated to go.

Genis yawned. “Why don’t we get some rest.” He said. “Genis is right,” Lloyd said, “let’s get some rest.” “Alright,” Rick said. “By the way, where are you all headed?” Yumisato asked. “We don’t know . . . . . . we could use an adventure. Maybe we could go visit everyone in Tethe’alla.” Lloyd said. “I have no objections,” Kratos said. “What about Iselia?,” Raine asked. “Already covered Raine,” Sheena said. “Okay then!” Colette said. “Should we bring Rick and Martel with us?” “I don’t feel safe leaving Martel in a town without us supervising, as you know how rough those boys can get.” Lloyd said. “Okay. What about Rick?” Lloyd looked at Rick, who had fallen asleep. “We might as well bring him with us. Martel wouldn’t let us send him back anyway.” “Alight, then, goodnight.” Lloyd fell asleep and soon the rest of the group followed, except Kratos, who was the night watch.

“Martel?” Seth looked around, then saw her, and walked up to her. “You wanted to see me?” Martel jumped slightly, and then turned to see Seth. “Oh good, you’re alright,” she said as she smiled. “How’s your back?” “Fine,” Seth said. “Although it hurts whenever I move.” There was a small period of awkward silence, and then Martel spoke up. “Thanks again for saving me.” “No problem,” Seth said. “Umm . . . . I know this is kinda weird to ask, but . . . . why did you risk your life to save me?” “What?” “Why did you risk your life to save me? When Yumisato was healing you, he told me that you would only risk your life for your family or for someone you were paid to protect. Otherwise, you’d worry about your own life. Why did you risk your life to save me? We barely know each other.” Martel said. Seth blushed slightly. “Well, er . . . . . . I . . . . . . . . “ Seth stammered a bit, not knowing how to respond. “You what?” Martel asked. “It’s . . . . . nothing. Sato and Rick were worried about you, so I volunteered to save you.” Martel looked at Seth. “You could’ve just let Rick and Yumisato save me.” “Well, er.” Seth was now blushing a bit more. “You can tell me. I can keep secrets easily.” Martel said, moving herself closer to Seth. Seth was silent for a second, then spoke. “It’s nothing, alright?” Martel sighed. She knew it was pointless trying to interrogate Seth any further. “Alright.”

Martel yawned as she leaned her head and body against Seth, who blushed. “So, where are you and Yumisato going to go now that Triet is gone?” “I don’t know about Sato, but as for me, I’m gonna go to Palmacosta and find a job.” “Oh . . .” Martel said, sounding a bit depressed. “So, you’re not going to travel with everyone else?” “Probably not. I usually travel alone . . . . hmm, maybe I’ll go to Meltokio and fight in those Coliseum battles.” “Do you need money?” “Yeah, I’m flat-out broke.” “Well, I hope that you win, and get some money.” “Thanks.” Martel looked up at Seth. “Are you going to leave now?” “Yeah,” Seth said. Martel stopped leaning on Seth, and faced him. “Alright.” “Hey, I’m sure we’ll see each other again.” Seth said. “Yeah . . . . . . Seth.” “What?” Martel leaned in, and kissed Seth. “Goodbye.” Martel blushed, then took her wings out as she flew back to where the camp was.

Seth stood, watching Martel fly away, still thunderstruck by what she just did. After a few minutes, he regained his senses, and he began running in the direction of the Aselia Bridge. "Time for revenge, and some answers."

Chapter 4

“Martel, wake up.” Yumisato said. Martel slowly opened her eyes, and yawned. “Hey, did Seth leave already?” Martel nodded, remembering last night’s events. “Yeah, he said he was going to Meltokio.” “Really?” “Yeah.” “Maybe we’ll see him there.” Martel looked confused. “We? I thought you were traveling alone?” “Actually, your parent shave decided to go visit everyone in Tethe’alla. They also want to check up to see if Tethe’alla has monsters.” Yumisato replied. Colette came over to Yumisato and Martel. “Oh, good, you’re awake.” “Mom, are we really traveling with Yumisato to Meltokio?” “Yes, we are honey. We’re going to go visit Zelos, and have him come along and help us find the source of the monsters.” “Not Zelos.” Martel sighed. “Look, can I smack him if he asks to “play” around with me?” “Sure.” “Thank you!” Martel said. “Do you hate Zelos or somethin’?” Yumisato said. “Yes, I do.” Martel said. “He wants to “play” around with me. My mom and dad have tried to set him straight, and failed. If he asks one more time, I am going to smack him as hard as I can.” “Oh, yeah,” Yumisato chuckled. “I forgot that he’s infatuated by good-looking women. Well, I won’t stop you from smacking him.”

“I want him to stop asking. He’s too old for me, and his attitude is rude and inconsiderate.” Martel said. “Hey, you three!” Rick called out. “We’re leaving now!” Martel and Yumisato rose. Colette got out her wings and began to hover. “Let’s go.” Colette said as she, Martel, and Yumisato caught up with the main group, who was heading for the Aselia Bridge, which started at Izoold, and went south, and connected in the middle of the Grand Tethe’alla Bridge.

Upon reaching the Aselia Bridge, the group found the guard on the ground. Blood was pouring from a deep wound on his back. Lloyd and Raine ran over to him. “What happened?” Lloyd asked. The guard looked at Lloyd. “Monsters . . . . . . attacked . . . . . . humans with fire commanded them . . . . . they . . . . . took my family. Please . . . . . . save them . . . . . . . they were taken . . . . . to Meltokio.” The guard then died. “Hey, Raine isn’t that-?” “I know Genis,” Raine said. “This man was a friend of ours. His name is George. His family provided supplies and shelter for a night while we were traveling.”

“We have to help his family then.” Lloyd said. “Yes, he said that his family was taken to Meltokio.” Kratos said. “Wait,” Yumisato said. “Meltokio? That’s strange. Meltokio would never house monsters and evil humans.” “We’ll have to see what’s going on,” Sheena said. “Then let’s go,” Kratos said. They began to walk along the Aselia Bridge. Raine looked at Yumisato’s staff. “Your staff is not ordinary. I can feel an evil power emanating from inside of it.” “I know.” Yumisato replied, looking at Heart of Chaos. “It’s very hard to use. It sucks my energy, but my magic healing spells are much more powerful than that of a standard healer, and all my attacks turned to darkness and grew more powerful.” “I see.” Raine replied. “Do you have a backup staff?” “Yeah.” Yumisato pulled out a staff with a red ruby at the top of it. “I use this when I’m too tired.”

As they reached the fork that went either left or right, they could see dark clouds over Meltokio. “What the hell?” Lloyd said. “Those clouds are over Meltokio!” “Mother!” Yumisato yelled as he dashed ahead of the group, going right at the fork. Lloyd and the others followed. “I wonder if Zelos is alright.” “He’s probably fine.” Sheena said. “Knowing him, he’ll probably be treating this as a joke.”

When they got Meltokio, they couldn’t find Yumisato. Buildings were on fire. It was the same as Triet. “Damn, lost him.” Lloyd said. “Lloyd, we’ll worry about Yumisato later,” Raine said. “We should focus on finding out the problem.” “This reminds me of Triet,” Rick said, drawing his sword. “Everyone, be on guard,” Kratos said. “Hey, isn’t that Presea?” Genis asked, pointing at a short, pink-haired girl wielding a dark purple axe. “Presea!” Lloyd called out as he ran over, drawing the material blades, and killing a monster that was about to hit her. “Lloyd, it is unfortunate that we had to meet each other like this,” Presea said. “Zelos and Regal went to the Coliseum with a young man named Seth. “Seth, he’s here?” Rick asked, now fighting alongside them. “Yes. After he came, the monsters attacked.” Presea said, killing another monster. “Where’d you get that axe?” Rick asked. “A man named Abyssion gave it too me. He said that I should collect all the other weapons that are dark purple, and bring them too him. I agreed too help him.” Kratos, Colette, Martel, Genis, Sheena, and Raine helped Presea, Lloyd, and Rick defeat all the monsters. Once they did, they began running to the Coliseum, only to find Yumisato crying. He was holding a woman close to him.

“Are you okay?” Presea asked. “Mother,” Yumisato said. “Why, why did monsters have to come here?!” “That must’ve been his mother,” Raine said. “Yumisato.” Martel said. Yumisato looked at the group. “Let’s go find Seth. I saw him, Zelos, and Regal enter the Coliseum arena.” He got up, brushing away tears from his eyes.

Upon entering the arena, they saw Seth, Regal, and Zelos finishing off the last of the monsters. Then a man appeared. Lloyd and the others ran up. “Zelos! Regal!” “Hey Lloyd,” Zelos said. “It is good to see you Lloyd.” Regal said. “I see you have brought everyone.” “What’s going on here?” Rick asked. “Who is that man?”

The man had red hair, and a black upper body. A green crystal was in the middle. He wore silver gauntlets and had black hands. He wore odd lower body, and greaves as well. “Abyssion,” Seth said with a hateful glance.

“Well well, the cursed one has returned.” Abyssion said. “I do not have all the weapons,” Presea said. “Oh . . . . . well, you still have to find them.” “What?!” Seth said, turning to Presea. “You have one as well. Look! Don’t find those weapons!” “You fool.” Abyssion said. “You may have cursed me, but he will never be revived. I would’ve finished him off had you not cursed me!” Seth yelled “I thought I had finally revived him, until you came and killed him again,” Abyssion said.

“What the hell is going on?!” Lloyd asked. “I must. Or else the evil spirit Nebilim will be revived.” Presea replied to Seth. “Nebilim?!” Raine said. “You mean the evil spirit who almost took over the entire combined world?” “Yes,” Abyssion said. “If I do not get the rest of the weapons, he will come back. I am a demon fighter, and I know how to seal him away for good.”

“No!” Seth said. “Don’t listen to him! He’s lying!” “But, Seth,” Martel said, “He said he’s a demon hunter.” “He told me that the monsters are appearing because Nebilim is coming back.” Presea said. “That is right. I can easily restore Triet and Meltokio to their original form if I can revive my father, who can seal away Nebilim. But, I need those dark purple weapons to do it. If Seth hadn’t of killed him when I revived him the first time, this would have never happened.” Abyssion said. “You don’t want everything saved?” Kratos asked. “No! That’s not it!” Seth said. “Why won’t you believe me?!” “Seth,” Martel said. “he sounds like he wants too help us.” “Martel, even you don’t believe me?” Seth asked. “Sorry, Seth, but Abyssion saved Meltokio last time from monsters,” Zelos said. “He can definitely be trusted.” “Arggh! Damn you Abyssion!” Seth yelled. “I’ll prove that I’m right!” Seth then jumped, propelling himself out of Meltokio. “I just know that those dark weapons are having an effect on them. Abyssion must be using them to put their thoughts on me being the evil one and Abyssion the one who can save everything. Damn!”

“Seth is a liar,” Abyssion said. “He is Nebilim’s ally. He even wields Nebilim’s own two swords.” “Those two swords are Nebilim’s?” Colette asked. “Yes. Nebilim gave them to Seth.” “But, Seth saved me,” Martel said. “He saved me, Rick, and Kratos.” “He’s only doing that to get your trust,” Abyssion replied. “Once he had your trust, he was going to use you as sacrifices for Nebilim. I already know. That’s how my father died. Seth used him as a sacrifice for Nebilim. I was able to defeat Nebilim, because he was still weak from revival. But, he will come back if I don’t revive my father, and the world will plunge into darkness.”

“Then we’ll go and get those weapons for you.” Zelos said. “We’ll have to defeat Seth,” Lloyd said. “We will?” Martel asked. “Yes,” Kratos said, “he has one of those weapons.” Martel sighed. “Seth . . . . . . ?” She said to herself quietly. “Let us go,” Presea said. “We have to find those weapons.” “I will be waiting for you. Come back each time you find a new weapon. The first one is a dagger. It’s located in Flanior.” Abyssion said. “Alright,” Lloyd said as the group turned, and left Meltokio, heading for Flanior.

“We’ll have to get a ship,” Lloyd said. “Yes,” Regal said. “I know of one.” It’s over there.” Regal pointed at the tiny speck in the distance that was a ship. Martel walked behind them, looking depressed. “What’s wrong Martel?” Colette asked. “It’s just, I trust Seth, but I also trust this Abyssion person, who says that Seth saved me just so he could gain my trust.” “This Abyssion person didn’t sound bad. And he knows a lot about Nebilim. Seth never mentioned anything about Nebilim, did he?” Colette said. “No.” “Did he ever tell you why he saved you.” “He said that I didn’t need to know, and he hesitated a lot when I asked.” “From that answer, Abyssion sounds more reliable.” “I know.” “I’m sure there’s a way we can compromise with Seth.” “Hopefully,” Martel said.

“Colette, Martel, get in the ship,” Lloyd called out to them. They had been oblivious to the rest of the group boarding the ship while talking. “Oh! Right!” Martel said as she and Colette took out their wings, and flew onto the deck of the ship.

“Hey Martel,” Zelos asked as he went up to her. Martel took out her chakrams, and swung as hard as she could at Zelos’s face. She made a direct hit. “Owwwww,” Zelos said. “Don’t you dare come up to me and ask me!” Martel said. “Unless you want me to hit you again.” “No, I’m fine,” Zelos said as he slowly got up. “Good,” Martel said. “Alright, time to set sail for Flanior!” Lloyd said as the ship began heading out too sea, in the direction of Flanior.

“Ugh, the sea,” Raine said. “Something wrong Raine?” Genis asked. “No, I’m fine,” Raine said. “Yeah, right,” Genis said. “You’ve always acted weird around water.” “Wait, Genis, you haven’t found out that Raine suffers from hydrophobia?” Lloyd said. “What?” “Lloyd!” Raine said, smacking him. “Damn, shouldn’t a said that.” “Nice Lloyd,” Genis said. “Anyway, why didn’t you tell me?” “I felt that you didn’t need to know,” Raine said. “We all found out due to your strange behavior around large bodies of water,” Kratos said. “Yes, I figured that.” “Yo! Lloyd! Why the hell am I on cooking duty tonight?” Zelos asked “Because,” Lloyd said. “It’s your turn.” “What about Colette or Genis?!” “Just shut up and make something,” Lloyd said. “Can Zelos cook?” Presea asked. “No, no he can’t,” Regal said. “But I think we can survive without a meal for one night.”

Regal’s statement proved true. “Ugh, I am never eating Zelos’ cooking again!” Yumisato said. “That had to be the worst-tasting meal ever!” “That’s why we didn’t even bother trying it,” Martel said. “I see,” Yumisato said. “Alright, Kratos and Martel, you’re the night watch for tonight.” Lloyd said. Kratos and Martel nodded as everyone else except them went below decks, to the cabins, and went to bed.

The moon shone brightly as it was reflected in the water. “Are you still trying to get over Seth?” Kratos asked Martel. “What do you mean “get over”?” Martel asked. “Don’t fool me,” Kratos said. “You’re very emotional, I can tell. When something happens, I can easily look at the emotion reflected to find out.” “I see,” Martel said. “Do you think there’s a way we can retrieve Seth’s weapon without . . . . . . . killing . . . . . . him?” “Probably not,” Kratos said. “If we are too insure that we get all of the weapons, me must insure all threats are eliminated.” Martel was silent for a few seconds, then decided to change the subject. “So, how are we going to get to Flanior?” “We’re first going to the abandoned Renegades Base.” Kratos said. “They’ll have some rheairds that we can use to fly over the rock barrier.” “I’ve always wanted to ride a rheaird!” Martel said. “Then you’ll get too,” Kratos said. “Cool!” Martel said. “I believe the dagger is in the Ice Caves. I’m not too sure.” Kratos said. “I thought Abyssion said it was in Flanior?” “He did say that, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s there. He may have just made us go there so that we can get some information in its whereabouts.” “Oh.” Martel said. “Do not believe all that someone says,” Kratos said. “Okay.”

Kratos and Martel stood watch until the sun rose. Once it did, they both went below decks, and went to their cabin rooms so that they could get some sleep. Lloyd and the others walked around the deck. It was bright and sunny out as the wind began to get chilly. “We’re nearing Flanior,” Raine said. “H-h-how can you t-t-tell?” Rick asked, unused to being so cold. “It’s getting colder out,” Yumisato said. “Yes, we should be near the base soon,” Regal said. “Good,” Presea said. “Damn! How can you guys not be affected by this?!” Rick asked. “Because, we’ve all been here before,” Raine said. “Well, Martel hasn’t, so she’ll probably be cold.”

Suddenly the ship crashed into a jagged rock. “What just happened?” Lloyd asked. Martel and Kratos came running up. “Lloyd, the ship is sinking! It crashed into a jagged rock. We must get to land!” “Right!” Lloyd said as he frantically looked for a way out. “Hey, guys!” Zelos said. “There’s some land not far away. We should be able to jump it.” Zelos jumped, and landed on the piece of land. Lloyd and the others followed suit.

Once there, they all saw the base. “Good thing we were right by it,” Genis said. “Yes.” Presea said. “Let’s go!” Colette said as everyone entered the base.

A mysterious figure dropped down from the sky, and landed in front of the base. “I can’t let them get those weapons!” He said as he ran inside.

There was a sale on Mt. Dew, I am now Severely Over Caffeinated
Another very good story by GMD. I can't wait for the next chapter.

It's been about six months since I last played syphonia though, and I got a bunch of ToL information mixed up in it. Who or what were Abyssion and Nebilim?

Chapter 5

“This place sure is abandoned,” Lloyd said. “It was abandoned after Aselia formed.” Raine said. “It’s so eerie,” Martel said. “We should be nearing the Rheaird Docking Bay,” Kratos said as they rode an elevator upward. Upon entering the Docking Bay, the group saw 20 Rheairds. “There’s certainly a lot,” Martel said. “We only need 12,” Yumisato said. “Awesome! Rheairds!” Rick said in excitement as he dashed forward, only to have a mysterious figure drop down in front of him, dark purple swords drawn. He was cloaked in a dark brown cloak. “Get away from the Rheairds,” the man said coldly. Rick stepped back, quickly drawing his sword in fear. “W-w-who are you?!” He asked. “You know who I am,” the man said. “I . . . . . I don’t,” Rick said.

The man dropped his cloak, revealing himself to be Seth. “Seth,” Martel said quietly. “Seth, move,” Kratos said. “No,” Seth said, getting in a fighter’s stance. “I won’t let you have those weapons! Surely you’ve heard of the nine weapons Nebilim held.” The dark weapons that Yumisato and Presea had glowed. “Yes,” Presea said. “We know that he held them, but only with them can he be sealed away forever.” “We’re going to have to take yours as well,” Zelos said. “You are all weak! You’ve already been taken in by the weapons’ pull!” “We know not of what you speak,” Kratos said. “That is because you are blinded by lies and deceit!” Seth yelled. “You’re not laying a hand on these Rheairds! You’re not going to get any weapons. I won’t let Abyssion’s wish come true!” Genis began charging his kendama with energy. Yumisato sighed. “Seth, I never thought you were actually like this. Abyssion was right about you. Now, let us have those Rheairds.”

“Even you Sato?” Seth said. He sighed out of frustration. “Fine, think that way! It’s either you stay back, or fight me for these Rheairds!” “So be it!” Kratos said as he, Lloyd, and Zelos drew their weapons. Seth charged at Kratos, who charged back. Just before they were about to attack each other, Martel got into the middle. “No!” She yelled as Seth and Kratos stopped. “Martel, move!” Kratos yelled. Seth just stood there, staring at Kratos.

“No, grandpa!” Martel said. “I . . . . . I can’t let you two fight.” Kratos was furious. “Martel, stand aside!” “No!” Martel yelled back. Kratos looked surprised. “Why won’t you-“ “I’m sorry, grandpa,” Martel said as she turned to Seth. “Seth, please. Let us have the Rheairds.” Seth hesitated, then stepped back, and put his brown cloak back on. “I won’t let you get away next time,” he said. He looked at Martel, and Lloyd noticed how calm and loving they looked, then saw them turn cold and hard when he looked at Lloyd, then he got on a Rheaird, and left the base on it.

The group was silent for a second, until Rick spoke up. “Well, now that Seth’s gone, let’s get the Rheairds and get the hell outta here!” Regal nodded. “Yes, let’s go.” Everyone got on a Rheaird, left the base, and flew too Flanior, where they decided to stay the night.

Martel, Lloyd, Colette, Raine, Rick, and Sheena stayed at the hotel while Kratos, Yumisato, Zelos, Presea, Genis, and Regal went to search for clues about the whereabouts of the dagger they were supposed to find.

Martel was in her room, thinking about the event with her, Kratos, and Seth, when Lloyd knocked. “Come in,” Martel said sullenly. Lloyd entered. “Are you still thinking about when you stopped your grandpa from attacking Seth?” “Yes,” Martel said. “I . . . . . . . well . . . . . . I just didn’t want-“ “I know,” Lloyd said. “You don’t want Seth hurt. You’d rather risk the world to be with him, wouldn’t you?” “I . . . . no . . . . I want the world . . . . to be saved also . . . . I want a way to save them both.” “You sound like me sometimes,” Lloyd said, chuckling. “Listen, I know it’s hard to deal with, but you’ll have to understand that Seth isn’t on our side, and we must defeat him. “

“But dad,” Martel said. “What if there’s a way to not kill him?” “Kratos and the others, besides Colette and Yumisato, would highly object to sparing Seth’s life.” Lloyd said. “What about you?” “Well, you are my daughter, and I want you to be happy. I’d probably spare Seth’s life only because of that.” Martel hugged Lloyd lightly. “Thanks dad,” she said. After she let go of him, Lloyd got up. “Well, I’d better be going. It’s getting late. Kratos and the others are probably back by now. I’m going to go and talk to them. You may go to bed if you want.”

Lloyd left the room, and Martel went to bed. Lloyd entered his room, where everyone was right now. “So, how is Martel?” Kratos asked. “She wants you guys to spare Seth’s life when you fight him.” Lloyd replied. “That’s absurd!” Regal said. “Regal’s right! He’s an enemy,” Sheena said.“ Yumisato was silent. “You can’t just kill him,” Colette said. “If Martel wants him to live, then let him live. We can just take his weapons.” “Are you kidding? He’ll be back for us,” Rick said. “I agree,” Genis said. “That guy’s gonna crush us if we let him live,” Zelos said. “We must kill him, it is the only way,” Presea said. “Raine, have you any voice?” Regal asked. “Yes.” Raine said. “First of all, you’re all bloodthirsty. Second of all, I believe we should spare his life.” “Wha-?!” Rick asked. “Don’t interrupt me Rick!” Raine said, slapping him. “Sorry . . . owww,” Rick said.

“As I was saying, Seth should be spared. If we’re able to defeat him, how could he possibly come back and defeat us? We could simply knock him out and take his weapons as well. Let us not make Martel angry at us. Let’s just spare his life and take his weapons. If he tries to fight Abyssion, then we’ll come in and help.” The rest of the group nodded in agreement. “Alright then. Kratos, what have you and the others found out?” “It is as I assumed,” Kratos said. “The weapon is located in the ice caves, and they say it is guarded by a horrible monster.” “I see,” Raine said. “Well then, we will head out first thing tomorrow.” She rose. “I bid you all a goodnight.” Raine left, followed by the rest of the group. Everyone went to bed.

Martel woke up. It was still dark out. Martel sat up, and began to think, when she heard a sudden noise coming from outside, on her balcony. She slowly got up. She was in a white night gown. She quickly changed into a wintry dress, as to not get really cold, and walked outside to see what the noise was. She saw nothing. “M-m-maybe i-i-i-it was a c-c-c-cat.” She said, stammering due to the cold. She shivered as snow fell on her. “So, you heard me.” Martel jumped, and turned around. “W-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-who’s there?!” She asked, frightened. “S-s-s-show y-y-y-yourself!” Seth came out from the shadows. He was still cloaked in his brown cloak. “Heh, scared ya, didn’t I?” “Y-y-yes!” Martel said, shivering. Seth walked over to her, and she turned around as they stared at Flanior getting covered in snow.

Martel was still shivering. “Cold?” Seth asked. Martel nodded. “Here,” Seth opened up the left side of his cloak, and put it around Martel, which brought her right next to him. “Thanks,” Martel said. “Don’t mention it,” Seth said. After a few minutes of silence, Martel snuggled up against Seth, trying to get warmer. Seth blushed, but said nothing. “Seth, why are you fighting us?” Martel asked. “Why don’t you want the world saved?” “I do,” Seth said. “But whatever I tell you will be null and void, because the dark weapons you possess will just wipe it from your memory, and you will have no recollection of what I told you.” “Oh,” Martel said as she wrapped her arms around him, putting her arms on his shoulder, still snuggled up to him, doing it out of her being very cold. “Seth, you can tell me. I don’t think I’m affected by those dark weapons.” Seth was blushing. “Uh, er, well . . . . . the others won’t believe you. I can already tell that the dark weapons have already begun to corrupt them.” “I still want to hear. I’d rather know why I’m fighting you than not know at all.” Seth could feel Martel shivering against him, and he absentmindedly put his arms around her, which made her blush.

“Well, to begin, whatever you heard from Abyssion is a lie. Abyssion intends to revive Abyssion with the weapons. I was able to defeat Nebilim when Abyssion last revived him, but he then cursed me. My curse is-“ Seth stopped when he heard a noise, and saw the door to Martel’s door open. “What is it Seth?” Martel asked. “Someone’s coming,” Seth said. “I’ll be back though. Please don’t stop me from fighting. Even though you may know what’s going on, the others don’t, and I don’t want them mad at you because of me. I must do what I can too stop them.” Martel nodded. “I understand,” she said as she kissed Seth. “Goodbye.”

Seth blushed, then took his cloak off of Martel and jumped off of the balcony just before the person was able to see that he was there. “Martel?” Rick came outside. “Hello Rick,” Martel said. “What are you doing up so late, and outside?!” “I just came out to admire the scenery,” Martel said. “Alright. Kratos sent me here because he heard voices. Was that you?” “I was just talking to myself,” Martel lied. “Alright, goodnight,” Rick said as he went back inside, and left Martel’s room, going back to his own. Martel went back inside, thinking about what Seth told her. She fell asleep quickly.
