And unless the game blows my expectations away, I can think of a lot of better things that Next Level Games could be doing, namely things that begin with "Punch" and end with "Out". |

Finally had a chance to sit and watch the Nintendo "digital event". I enjoyed it overall. =D I was excited for the reveals of Federation Force, Triforce Heroes, Mario & Luigi, and Star Fox (and I would have felt the same about portable Hyrule Warriors if it hadn't been spoiled, dag nabbit!). Yo-kai watch looks great, and Fire Emblem in all forms displayed makes me happy as well. Yoshi's Wooly World, Fatal Frame, Super Mario Maker and Xenoblade will keep my Wii U happy this year too. I felt like it was a very solid showing from Nintendo. That mini-direct a few weeks ago would have made it seem more packed if they would have waited until E3 and just stuffed it all into a sizzle reel, haha. |

One of the best news from this year's E3. I have no reason to consider buying XBOXONE anymore. |

Right now, I only have two legitimate reasons to buy a XBone. One is Scalebound, which probably won't be coming out for awhile. The other is Rare Replay. $30 for 30 games, many of which had cost an upwards of $60 and where some of the games probably have a longer campaign than most AAA titles today is a steal. And i'm still intrigued by the Hololens, but that requires games to use the Hololens on. On a different note, i'm wondering if a yearly E3 is something that can't keep up with our expectations anymore. As time has gone on, the time it takes to develop a game due to better and better 3D graphics has increased more and more since 1996. As a result, games that are only at the Alpha level will only have a cinematic trailer released at E3. I wonder if it's time to make this a bi-yearly event. Edited by RPGZero, Jun 17 2015, 04:44 AM.

E3's kind of meaningless for Nintendo now to boot, what with their Directs. The Treehouse livestreams are nice though. |

Apparently a new gameplay trailer was released in Japan for Devil's Third last week. While the graphics and textures are admittedly last gen, the gameplay mechanics look fun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdcGkY5skP8 Considering this comes out in Japan in August and will probably hit here by Fall/Winter, maybe this should have taken Bayonetta's place in the Digital Event this year. |

#FE is currently on the treehouse. From what I gather, every human has a "Mirage" from another world. Those mirages are the FE characters they become/summon/merge with or something whenever they enter the battle. Really, they never should have called this SMT x FE. Granted, I don't mind since I don't play SMT for various reasons. But out of decency, they probably shouldn't have included the SMT name. The new full name of the game is even Genei Ibun Roku #FE which includes FE in the title and not SMT. The game does seem to take mechanics from both franchises, though, as they combined FE's weapon triangle with SMT's way of doing weaknesses. Regardless, I'm taking a liking to the game, though I really think the way the battle UI looks could look a little less . . . cheap, I suppose is the word. Something about it reminds me more of a low budget RPG rather than something made by Atlus. Edited by RPGZero, Jun 17 2015, 09:51 AM.
