First episode was pretty much nothing like the original material, but on its own merits it's pretty damn awesome. Leopard is freakin' adorable. |

Yeah, as of episode one I'd easily give this the award of best new show of the season. We'll see how future episodes treat it though, because I have no idea how them breaking into and disrupting the Yatterman city will play out. The first episode was 100% about her mother's death, and it's possible that the rest of the series could have a remarkably different tone. |

Almost as good as Lowe ^_^

Feels like that's a re-enactment of Casshern Sins. Episode 2 had such an apocalyptic vibe that we had never seen in the original show... Also seems that Yatter Kingdom is very different from what everyone imagined... |

I am, albeit behind since I have to wait for Hulu, which has it on delay. |

I am too. I'm not entirely thrilled by the tonal whiplash though; it keeps jumping back and forth between goofy, cartoonish hijinks and grim mcgrim. I like the way the cartoonish actions of the characters creates some wonderfully creepy dissonance in certain scenes - such as the one two episode previous when the husband is being led away for the second time - but a lot of the time it just doesn't work for me. I miss the first episode, back before everyone started emulating the characters from the original Yatterman. |

I'll probably pick it up later today. I never seen the original so it'll be weird to see how I feel about it since i won't be basing it on said original. |

Just watched the first episode. Defintiely going to pick it up now. Who doesn't enjoy a good "Fuck the world" show!. Especially at how adorable Leopard is and who easily hatable the Yatter Kingdom so far is. EDIT: Finished up to the current episode 5. Overall enjoying it. It's not anime of the season but it's light hearted and entertaining even if I'm missing all the references to the original. Also, I can't tell. Is Allouette Blind or just...out there? She's blind due to trauma, so she'll probably regain her sight later. Probably when she and her beau become the new Yattermen. |

I see, so she is. And Yeah I got the feeling that's what's probably going to happen to them later on. Helps that the entire ending is dedicated to them. |

Yeah because it was a great concept and I was highly interested in it but, I never actually got to play it. bceause I never bought the Wii, and a single interesting game isn't worth buying the entire system. Same reason I won't be getting a WiiU just for the sake of Xenoblade X. (Plus the whole region locked thing). Plus, I suck at fighters anyways and was mainly interested in Zero, Frank, Komugi and the mech from Lost PLanet. XD |

I kinda like them emulating Dorombow... Mostly because it feels that Leopard is doing so as she tries to cope with the loss of her mother, with Voltkatze and Elephantus playing around in an attempt to ease her pain. |

That's how I felt at first too, but other times that feeling disappeared. I think it works best when they sort of slip out of it after something bad happens, when you can tell that her performance is really forced. Other stuff, like the peeing guy though, was just . . . um. Just um. Edited by ZetaStriker, Feb 12 2015, 02:16 PM.

The peeing guy was just stupid. They could have had the episode with him entirely removed and it would have been 99% the same. |

Peeing guy was a wasted opportunity because of how they handled it... But it served for the purpose of showing how Voltkatze and Elephantus are way better than their ancestor counterparts. (In the original Yatterman, Dorombow NEVER acted kindly...) Overall the episode gave me the feeling the director wanted the viewers notice how Leopard and gang were starting to deviate from their ancestors, achieving a direct victory against the Yatterman but giving up on the reaped benefits to help someone in need. Sure, he could have done a way better work if rather than the pissing scenes he had more moments with Leopard sympathizing with the guy's condition. (The sick mother in need of a doctor.) |

That's the problem, they never really did. And the whole pee thing was entirely pointless and had no relevance to anything. If anything HE should be the one seenig a doctor. |

Saw the finale. Nothing terribly surprising, but the return of the Yattermen was still awesome, and I admit to getting a bit kiaty at the very end. |
