The official site listed the differences between the PS3 and PS4 verisions of the game. To sum it up, Game content: 100% exactly the same PS4 will run at 60fps 1080p, PS3 will only run at 30fps 720 PS4 will have more detailed characters, enviorments, particle effects, lighting, textures, etc. Everything you'd expect from the PS4. PS3 will some times have some monsters not appear visually if there are too many on screen. PS4 will also have a farther draw distance. |

Believe it or not, those are actually only fairly good sales for a Dragon Quest game, though maybe they're the expected sales for a spinoff. As the old urban legend goes, the Japanese legislature dictated that DQ games must be released on a holiday or weekend so that the nation doesn't shut down. Still, I agree, this is definitely going to become a franchise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AezPcidAyWo |

I know those sales aren't the same as the real games, but as said this isn't a real Dragonquest game it's a spin off, and for a spin off to get those huge sales in a first week is incredible. In general, a game in japan selling near 100k alone in a first week is considered a success. |

Agreed; those are great sales for a DQ spinoff and especially so for PS4 game in Japan. |

Those are fantastic numbers for a DQ side game. Outside of the Monsters series and the first few console Torneko games, spinoff games don't sell nearly as well as this. This is better than the Slime series, recent Torneko games, Swords, etc. It helps that this has a lot of fan favorites from the main series too. |

That's something I actually realized. This is probably the biggest seller for the PS4 so far in Japan. |

Not only that but you're also not limited to just the hero characters and can go around as the antagonists as well. Pretty much anyone who's a die hard fan of even a single character in the game will pretty much buy it if only to play as that one character. As far as japanese sales go, until PS4 gets a proper DQ game, or crapcom suddenly decides to do the right thing and bring back Monster Hunter, these sales probably won't be topped for years until it gets a decent installed user base going. Maybe MGSV though. But overall, as far as world wide goes, nothings going to ever beat Grand Theft Auto V. Despite the 40+ million units already sold on the last gen systems, the PS4 version sold over 2 million in the first week. Plus greatly increased PS4 system sales itself. |

Have they confirmed any other villains besides Psaro? I haven't kept up with any DLC plans if they've announced them. |

This game is pretty fun. Damn thing actually made me try to figure out how to setup the online remote play. Works actually pretty well as long as no one is sucking the bandwith at home. |

Week 2 sales. PS3 sold another 67,000 units, and PS4 another 35,500 units. Bringing the current total sales up to around 700,000+whatever it's sold digitally. |
