Assassin's Creed Rogue is the official title of the PS3/360 game that will feature an assassin turned Templar. The ship gameplay from 4 is said to be returning in this game:

Ain't this Connors father game?

Kinda annoyed its on PS3/360, mostly because I'm spoiled with Black Flag and Duelshock 4, I just really like that controller.

I see, either way, I'll probably check it out, and I'm sure they'll try and add Duelshock 4 support for it on the PS3.

I just wish they made it easier to sync up to the PS3.

This game is basically for those who haven't upgraded to Gen 8 yet and for those who want what is essentially Black Flag 2.

Everybody wins!

But please oh lord, PLEASE let this game keep the hilarious glitches from the first one.

The inclusion of ship shit sounds pretty unecessary.

Personally, I would have preferred it if they had created a new IP to continue to use the pirate stuff in.

It probably goes without saying, but right now the biggest fear about Rogue is that it will be nothing more than a copy and paste of Black Flag but in a slightly different setting. Though, it has been said that a new feature will be that enemies can now board your ship.

Also, it should be noted that this game takes place sometime after the Seven Years War. Since Haytham became the founder and Grand Master of the colonial Templars during this time and began his purge of the colonial Assassins, there's a good chance this game will be about about said purge.

Admittedly I am sort of interested. Go Templars!

That said, I was quite interested in Black Flag but never picked that up...

On one hand, it's good to see Haytham again. It seems I was right: you're working under Grand Master Haytham to wipe out the colonial assassins as it was said it was done in AC3's lore. I also like how the game shows off how rich the Templars are. Shay has a grenade launcher that can store different types of grenades and an airgun to fire different kinds of darts. I also appreciate the 18th century machineguns and oil fires for the ship gameplay. I also like the arctic setting. And having a gas mask on hand while you poison everyone is a nice touch. Overall, it's nice to play as the well off guys who have it altogether this time around as opposed to the assassins who always seem like they're nobodies hanging out in dirt patches.

On the other hand, it really is AC4 copypasta. With the exception of the above things I mentioned, the ship gameplay and all of the quests are exactly the same as the previous game. The HUD is exactly the same and the combat animations are exactly the same. The game seems very unpolished so far. Also, there is no crouching so prepare to look silly while standing on rooftops.

I think I may indeed wait until the price drops before I pick this up.

I'm loving this. The Assassins are just as stuck up as the Templars.

Yes! It seems like they really are setting up Achilles to possibly be the final boss.

The only thing better would be a post-AC3 story where I can kill Connor.

I started playing this weekend.

The Airgun/Grenade Launcher hybrid is really what makes the game for me. A single weapon that feels like it's a precursor to something out of Metal Gear or Splinter Cell is pretty awesome and it's really cool just to see it on Shay's back. It separates Arno from the rest of the protagonists and reminds me of Ezio's hidden blade that was far more than just a hidden blade. It's even changed the way I approach boarding enemy ships. In AC4 I would always leap onto the enemy vessel and engage everyone in sword fighting. Now, i'm free to take grenade shots from my boat.

Three complaints about it, however:
a) They didn't go far enough. Most of the functions are similar to past games, it's just all in one single weapon now. Considering who gives you the grenade launcher, I would have loved a grenade that releases electric shockwaves. Sleep, Berserk, and Shrapnel greandes are fun, but I would have liked more.

b) While you get the Airgun pretty early, you don't get the grenade launcher attachment until from what seems to be halfway into the game.

c) The grenade potency and amount of ammo you have really needs to be upgraded quickly. I like to be able to get the most out of my weapons during the main quest and considering this game has a shorter campaign than the usual AC game, I feel that I have to ditch the main quest just to go run around the map and find animals. And I don't find hunting to be as well integrated into the game as past ones. On top of that, there doesn't seem to be a way to craft grenade ammo which would have been welcome.

d) And my biggest problem - the fact that you can only have one function on at a time. It would have been great if you could have had R1 fire the airgun while R2 fires the grenade launcher. It feels weird having to select one of the airgun's functions and then switch to one of the grenade launcher's functions with the D-pad right after. It would've been nice if you could have one of each selected at one time and two different firing buttons.

I really like the game for a variety of reasons, but it has quite a few major flaws as well. But the Airgun/Grenade Launcher is my favorite part of it for sure.

I . . . didn't expect the Assassins to be so radicalized in this game. If I ever play 3 again, I don't think i'll ever look at Achilles the same way considering how his early life is portrayed here.

I'm almost done with the game. It actually isn't too long and the only reason I haven't beaten it already is because I wanted a few of the upgrades.

I liked wandering around looking for high level ships to fight against. Capturing them for the naval missions thing makes it super easy, I have one that still has 100% success rates and I'm almost done with them.

I just finished the main campaign.

I wonder if they're building towards a collision between Arno, Shay, and Connor? Shay may be too old to partake in that, though. The Napoleonic Wars would be a great way for all of them to collide, though.
