All you need is Kill; aka the Light Novel that led to the Manga that led to the Tom Cruise "Edge of TOmorrow" movie.

Making the thread at the request of Tangy. But yeah, it's the source material for the Edge of Tomorrow movie.

I've nearly finished the book and have go to say it is pretty good.

I expect the movie to be terrible.

Movie was actually entertaining, and gave Rita more...development? she seems more like a person, then a plot device that was just there.
Movie didn't go into the explanation of the mimic, neither did the manga, it was just weird.

There was also difference in the movie and novel/manga, in that Rita's time reset is different in both.

Oooh, neat to see a thread for this. I picked the novel up a few weeks ago. I figured I owed myself a science fiction novel that wasn't based off a tv show or film, haha.

You are not alone.
Huh. Edge of Tomorrow got 4 stars, and 8.1/10 in IMDB.

To be fair, the novel just explains it with massive exposition dumping from the narrator, which was odd as the first half of the novel is told from Keiji's first person narrative.
